Perhaps it would have been seen to be fiddling while Rome burns. Yes we're going down but we bought Geoffrey a bottle of champers and a plaque for his seat to thank him for helping us drop two divisions.

He was a Director for 30 years and is a major shareholder - and deserves some respect. And is not standard practice in ALL companies as you suggest Agreed. The world has turned upside down, I didn't imagine I would be on here defending Geoff from Padstow, but anyway.... If Geoff had indicated in February that he wished to stand down, the appointment to President had loads of time to be considered. And even if Geoff had wanted his car park space removed, someone should have said don't be silly, you are automatically a Vice President of the club and should keep it for that reason alone. he more likely wanted his car space moved to ensure his car was not damaged by mindless thugs after the Mansfield defeat...many so called City fans wandering round the car park after that game looking to cause trouble
