If Northampton get a point today against Exeter, we can forget auto promotion. So, let's concentrate on securing that play-off spot. We need 4 points, so today a draw would be enough. We don't have to win this game, just get level. One step at a time.

Back on track....All the teams at the top have to play at least one game against another team at the top, except us. Four points from our last two games will guarantee a play-off spot. Six points and we could just sneak that third spot. The one to watch for us is Northanpton v Exeter. Exeter have to win, otherwise Northampton will finish third.

A very good day today, C Overton with 14 overs and only conceded 12 runs, get the last wicket early Saturday morning and then a boisterous 250, put Wrks' in , and hope for that first win of the season Kids, if you ever needed proof that drugs don't work.........

Bloody Eintracht ! So frustrating. They can perform as they did last night, plus the two games against Barce. Win away at Bayern, yet overall their results this season have been pretty poor.
Their fans though...they are something else ! This city will be whipped up into a frenzy before the return leg next week.

As an aside, a friend of my wife played just a single game for Eintracht Frankfurt. He was a goalkeeper, and it was the second leg of the Cup Winners Cup in 1976, against West Ham (?). And it really was the only game he ever played for the first team !

I would normally support the English team in a European tie, but tonight I'm with the Eintracht !
What a start !

A draw was a fair result. What is obvious though is that we need a centre forward like Matt for next season.

James Bracey, 177 today against Yorkshire. Is he back in contention for an England spot based on the sheer amount of runs he is making?

What a night for us Eintracht fans. They only had 4,500 tickets allocated. It is estimated there were 25,000 in the stadium. The tickets were bought from Barce fans. Away support in Germany is not such a big thing as in the UK, but Eintracht are always the exception. After the game, the players and staff of Eintracht stayed on the pitch in front of the fans for at least half an hour, joining in with the fans songs etc. It was fantastic to see instead of the players just walking off with a half-hearted clap above their heads. There was a huge contingent of FC Koln supporters when they played at Arsenal a few years back... I hope Eintracht are knackered after Thursday. Could get their arses kicked by Union this afternoon. Eisern Union! Eintracht do well against the better teams but struggle against the lower teams. This is because if the opposition defend Eintracht don't have the skills to break them down, but as a counter attacking team they are good. Last week Eintracht drew 0-0 at home against the bottom team, against that they won in Bayern!

Hang on a cotton picking minute! Last Saturday we had 10cm of snow! I am not mentally prepared for the new cricket season.

OK so far. Just need a bit more composure around the box. Should have been a pen for us though. Nailed on in my opinion.

I think it boils down to the old, "you owe the bank 100 quid, you're in trouble. You owe the bank 5 million quid, and the bank is in trouble".

Don't worry your pretty little heads about the play-off dates. We're going for automatic promotion. Won’t get to play offs. Oi, enough of that negative talk!

99-7 third top scorer ...extras 20 !!!........ adjust that to 102-8..........................selectors need to have a good look at their thinking after the pathetic Aussie tour and now falling to a team that surely is not as good[supposedly] as England!! Should Root now relenquish the armband, again found wanting in the field, bereft of ideas Yep, Root has to lose the Captaincy. He should have lost it after the Australian debacle. No doubt England will make changes to the bowling line-up again. I actually think that Lees has done well. Crawley, Lawrence, Root, Stokes & Bairstow are all good Batsmen. The problem has to be a mental one. This is actually worse than what happened in Australia, as with all due respect, the Windies are nowhere as good as the Aussies.
