It's the annual screaming contest this Saturday. Ukraine will win. You heard it here first. Following the UK's support for Ukraine expect to see the UK pick up more votes than they normally do. The Germans love this contest. My wife usually invites a few friends round to watch it and they have a small party. I tend to sit on one side, dabbing my ears with cotton wool to soak up the blood coming out of my ears and doing my best Victor Meldrew impersonation. I'm a big fan of Eurovision - I know, it really really doesn't fit my profile. Watched the first semi-final last night. I liked Moldova - the slightly camp (it's almost mandatory) Eastern European equivalent of the Pogues. 200-1 to win (1/5 the odds for top 4), worth a quid. Ukraine are 4-7. Nailed on winners. My account has not been hacked. The Germs love it. My wife and son will be glued to it. Last week I discovered he also doesn't like BBQ Ribs. I think I may need him to take a DNA test.

Scunthorpe have started to rebuild for next season. They basically ditched most of the senior players who got them relegated knowing they will not be there next season. They've chosen to blood the youngsters to have a good look at them. Nothing wrong in that and they've been doing this since relegation was confirmed. Rovers were just lucky to have played them at this point, and it was just that, luck. Rovers went for it. They basically played two wingers as full-backs! Scunthorpe actually did well for the first hour. It was only 2-0 at that point. Their legs did start to run out at that point, plus Rovers became a force of nature, increased the tempo and the rest is history.

Interesting replies all missing the point. This character had obviously spooked both Wael and Joey for them both to plead with fans. I agree the invasion of the pitch should never have happened, however, if people consider that bad all hell would have broken out had this clown carried out his threat. He should have taken the players to the furthest corner of the pitch and allowed the stewards to do their job, had that been the case with the pitch already clearing the game could have continued without the extended delay. Again we see a pompous oaf an amateur interfering in a professional game not having the brain power to see further than his opinion of himself would allow. The time has long past with too much at stake to allow these amateurs to pollute a professional environment. Total bollux.

" with the fear that everything we had achieved being flushed down the toilet by an arrogant over officious part time amateur throwing a benny."
No, no and thrice no. Blame the brainless idiots who ran onto the pitch. Northampton could quite easily have scored again, meaning we would need another goal, but the with break we lost all momentum and the Scunthorpe players, who at that moment were shattered, were given fifteen minutes to get their breath back. The ref was just doing his job.

The game was also reported in Germany on the Sportschau which is the German version of Match of the Day !

Looks like I've got a ticket π. What's everyone planning? Up 7am. gym. bit of reading and thinking about a few things. Light food. Mem. Light food. Hopefully meet for ticket and entry. Post match pitch invasion. Drive to long Ashton where I'm staying at my mates and using his record player for my choice of vinyl. Bus into town. Drinks. Depeche mode cover band at the fleece. Not sober. who knows. taxi to long Ashton. bed. Great to hear that you've managed to get a ticket! I'll be following my usual matchday routine - I'm superstitious! It's unlucky to be superstitious.

Eintracht took 30,000 to Barcelona on a Thursday night. God knows how many will go to Seville.

Lots of trouble between rival fans since Tuesday have been reported. I have to watch the first half in work, then bomb home to catch the last ten minutes ! It looks like a cracking atmosphere inside the ground. It's a really nice stadium. Rebuilt for the World Cup (2008?).

If Northampton win 1-0, we only have to beat Scunny 7-0 and we're up! Simples! No, 6-0, then we go up as GD will be the same, but we've scored more goals.

We won't go up on goal difference. I've a feeling the last few months of positivity will come back to bite us with a Wembley defeat, followed by losing most of our best players in the ensuing few months. Get out of my trench !!!!!!!

Is it our destiny to go up automatically, or will destiny give us a right kicking in the nuts ?

It is a shame that we are not facing up to the cobblers for the last game now, I think that I would of fancied our chances a little more than I do at the moment if that had been the case. Oh well, letβs hope we can pop seven past Scunny, that might do it ! Last Saturday we ended the game with only one defender on the pitch! We might need something similar for the whole second half next Saturday

So that's it. We now know what we have to do on Saturday. Just score 5 goals more than Northampton (assuming we both win). Am I correct in saying that if GD is the same then it becomes who has scored the most goals? If so, that'll be us. Sound the bugle and charge from the first minute !
