Anyone could tell you that I don'the have the sense to be funny. 😅😅 Apparently the question of a permanent transfer was discussed, but I don't know what the outcome was on that. We'll all need to wait for the details.

It looks as though it's possibly a done deal, confirmation expected either later today or over the weekend.

I have heard Blackburn's name mentioned, but as far as I know nothing has been announced yet despite yesterday's press release. So we are still in the mix, presumably.

I read in the media yesterday (and that could be just a small part of my problem ) that Stoke City FC were to hold a press conference today, and reveal to which club Ryan Sweeney would be released to on a season-long loan. So here we are at 1600 hours, and my question is ''have I missed the announcement,'' or what? Signed: Anxious, of Fishponds.

After watching his on-line interview, I was pleasantly surprised by his quiet confidence in his own ability.
Welcome to BRFC, Tom. I believe that you will be a huge asset to the club.

Keep the faith brothers and sisters, who knows what's around the next corner eh? It's true that we may not be splashing out ridiculous amounts of money on players that virtually no-one has heard of. But we are on a different track to the other mob, and it may take a while longer to get there, but it will be worthwhile I'm certain. And if you believe that, there's some guys on 8th avenue who will sell you some genuine Tag Heuer watches... I never realised until now, that there was an 8th Avenue in Withywood. Ah well, we live and learn eh?

I just don't see the point of taking the p-ss at our rivals when we are struggling to even sign a player and have no goalkeepers! Lets get our own club in order before we worry about them. We can't even beat our record transfer fee from god knows how many years ago let alone think about 1million let alone 5million. I hate Steve Lansdown but at least he puts his money where his mouth is even if the results are nearer his ass!

It's a bit like buses really, you wait for what seems like hours . . . and two come along together. Nevertheless welcome to the club both of you, and I expect that Steve Mildenhall is particularly pleased. UTG.

He may have inflated the potential asking price he wanted for snake when snake was being 'difficult'. I don't think that qualifies as 'fibbing'. That's just establishing a strong bargaining position. We can agree to differ. I trust DC. We had no bargaining position as it was written in his contract. DC's "millions" comment was obfuscation at best; I'm not knocking him, but what he said wasn't true and therefore definitely constitutes a fib. I see that we two at least, live in the real world . . . and no disrespect intended to anyone, or anybody. Bring on the new signings, I say.

Has DC ever been caught out lying at any stage? In 3+ years - I don't think so. That's a lot of press coverage and a lot of interviews. An honest man. If he says he's been offered 6 figures for Ellis, then I believe him. He might just have a better idea of his worth than some of the bigots who purport to be Gasheads. As you haven't linked your reply to my post I've no idea if you are referring to it or not, but I suspect that you are so I feel the need to clarify my comments. Like yourself I suspect, I am a firm admirer of the manager, and wouldn't for one moment doubt his honesty. But most of us are men of the world, and as such realise that on occasions we may say things that wouldn't necessarily stand strict scrutiny. I would regard that as negotiating tactics, and life is all about the outcome of a successful negotiation. But this brings to mind what Bill Shankly allegedly said to Tommy Smith, his famous player: "You son, you could start a riot in a graveyard." I know exactly how that feels.

Good news, unlike dozens around me who prefer him to play at Bath, or similar, I'm a fan. This will be a great season for Ellis, that's my prediction. Would love to be proven wrong but I don't think there will be any improvement in Ellis and what we've seen so far is as good as it gets. Given the coaching he has had from a top striker like Marcus, I'm left feeling we have an under acheiving player. No physical strength, no anticipation and will always end up in a heap on the floor whenever he plays. A confidence player without a doubt. He does indeed divide opinion and like I say I'd love to be proven wrong If we were to take all of that at face value, then why on earth would the manager have rejected bids (he claims) of six figure sums? Or is DC just pulling the other 'un, do you think? But whichever way round it you go the player is here for the forseeable future, and whatsmore has the managers full support. That ought to tell the fans something or other.

My only trip to Ipswich was on the Supporters Club coaches in the 1980s (I believe), and it seemed to go on forever and ever.
But nowhere near as long as the journey to Gillingham. That really is a killer.

That game was without doubt, the coldest game that I have ever attended. It so numbed by body and brain, that I was just relieved when it was all over. Pure sacrilege that is, I know.

Based purely on nothing other than my gut feeling, I believe that DC will be at BRFC for quite some time to come. But I could be wrong though, as I often am.

I agree that Don Megson was a tremendous signing for the club, and has been said he came on the understanding that he would take over as manager in time. He was a very powerful player as I recall, and fully lived up to his nickname of ''Tank.'' I believe that he made his debut in an evening game which may have been a testimonial, but upon being appointed manager made the statement that BRFC supporters had been used to winning 5-4, but ought to accept that in future it would be 1-0.
He was relatively successful as manager but I've always believed that his card was marked by the Board when he sent his son Gary to Plymouth Argyle as an apprentice, rather than having him on the books at Eastville. In time of course Gary played for some really top teams.

Personally I'm quite dissapointed with this thread - the whole thing is off topic, when is everyone going to start talking about Batman? When we've finished discussing Ray Graydon's contribution as a manager at BRFC.
