I just wondered what peeps think about this
Pantsdown is in for about £105m now, maybe, and has a team a few places above us on the ladder. It looks like the move of a high-roller to me - a big bet, which might pay off but just as likely won't. And he has kept faith with Tinysqueaks, who comes across as a nice bloke but very much unproven in his job. He has got a nice new stand for his money, to be fair
I can't help wondering though, after the Snakey Bench-Warmer, thing, whether there wasn't a bit of nouveau-riche trying to keep ahead of the Joneses insecurity about it. Though I don't know anything about the bloke
for myself, I'm still happy in Wael land. Stadium good news would be very welcome, but the rest of it seems to be coming together nicely. Good times

£17m sale to Villa. Tidy profit. Admittedly it's a bit out of your league.
Still you've re-signed Ellis Harrison....

Gonna be a long hard season with Helium Jnr getting to grips with his First Big Book of Football Tactics and your main goal scorer gone back. Still, always look on the bright side, eh? The local roads will be a bit safer Another £5m added on, you keeping count? What a circus!

If he can get off the bench that is...

It's not about the size of your spending, it's what you do with it. £5+ million is a large amount of money for what appears to be a French Jon Parkin. You can spend large amounts of cash until the cows come home, but it's brought clubs like Liverpool sod all of late. If the 82ers new signing doesn't bag at least 15 goals/assists in his first season that's £5million wasted at that level. Expenditure doesn't equal quality and more importantly the French top two tiers certainly don't guarantee quality.

Some of liverpools signings have been superb, mane, coutinho, matep, origi and millner to name some, others not so good. With city jonathan kojda brought them a massive profit and tammy abraham was arguably the best loan of last season, others were not so good. Not sure why you compared their signing to parkin? Mind you at his peak parkin played in the preston team that got to the championship play-offs where no players at bristol rovers have been in the present squad.

The TV money at the top has driven prices up again and suddenly onece a player goes, the clubs lower down know you have money and so it continues.

Too many foreigners clogging up our game but that is another matter that we can blame the Premier League and F A for For the Premier League and F A 'read' FIFA - a bunch of idiots only interested in income

His goal return is nothing special. However, a 25-goal a season championship striker now goes for north of 10 mill. If he takes five pens, bangs in six goals in both cups, then he's only 14 goals from giving the buying club a healthy ROI.

I'm sure he'll be delighted with his new club's choice of leisure/training wear for the coming season, including....
"A Banksy inspired font, to recognise Bristol's internationally renowned Urban heritage".
Whose 'the gift' again? How utterly tragic.

I just don't see the point of taking the p-ss at our rivals when we are struggling to even sign a player and have no goalkeepers! Lets get our own club in order before we worry about them. We can't even beat our record transfer fee from god knows how many years ago let alone think about 1million let alone 5million. I hate Steve Lansdown but at least he puts his money where his mouth is even if the results are nearer his ass!
