A rumour on Twitter: And no no more than that. They'd have to pay us compensation on the deal as we've offered him a contract and he's under a certain age

Well, they'll have money from decent crowds and their FA cup exploits

A load of nonsense. Ellis has been a long-term project of DC's and he's beginning to grow well, we'd be foolish to let someone with his pace and finishing go.

We wouldn't be letting him go, he has had a contract offer.

We wouldn't be letting him go, he has had a contract offer. Only if our offer matched or beat last season's contract, otherwise we could offer him £5 per annum then demand compo if he turned the contract down, Padstow on the other forum claims is we offered him less.

Fixed that for you pal. Have a chat with yourself Couldnt really care either way with this one. Personally wouldnt have offered him a contract - however if he stays he does offer us something. If he leaves then i cant be it being a problem. Depends on what wages he was on - could his wages free up space for a young 'wild card' from non league? Or does Ellis offer more than such an option?

Good news, unlike dozens around me who prefer him to play at Bath, or similar, I'm a fan. This will be a great season for Ellis, that's my prediction.

Would love to be proven wrong but I don't think there will be any improvement in Ellis and what we've seen so far is as good as it gets. Given the coaching he has had from a top striker like Marcus, I'm left feeling we have an under acheiving player. No physical strength, no anticipation and will always end up in a heap on the floor whenever he plays. A confidence player without a doubt. He does indeed divide opinion and like I say I'd love to be proven wrong

Or is DC just pulling the other 'un, do you think? But whichever way round it you go the player is here for the forseeable future, and whatsmore has the managers full support. That ought to tell the fans something or other.

Has DC ever been caught out lying at any stage? In 3+ years - I don't think so. That's a lot of press coverage and a lot of interviews. An honest man. If he says he's been offered 6 figures for Ellis, then I believe him. He might just have a better idea of his worth than some of the bigots who purport to be Gasheads.

He fibbed about Taylor's asking price.
