I reckon Bamber could do a great job on the BRSC committee and become the new Ken Masters going round the ground asking fans views and getting things done. I am going to nominate him for the AGM. He can make BRSC Great again. Better get him to join first

This is the problem Harry. The SC is stuck in the 1970s, as it is right now it doesn't appeal to youngsters so no fresh blood is coming through, so there's an ever decreasing pool of people to deal with management and maintenance. It's dying on its feet. I haven't looked around at what's happening at other clubs, but suspect that 2 things are going on, there will be SCs like ours that are still operating in black and white, and others that have moved with the times, to do that needs some form of catalyst, it won't just happen. It's going to need the remaining people to decide that they don't want as their legacy that they were part of the final committee that allowed the SC to become increasingly more irrelevant, and then cease to be. But someone has to get off of their arse and make this happen. You need to get out there and find people, a couple of young eager helpers aren't going to just walk into a committee meeting consisting of people mostly in their late 50s and 60s or even older, all sat around bitching about the view from the match day office, introduce themselves and offer to update the website, get the SC sorted with social media and give them some commercial ideas so that they can start to generate their own revenue again (I'll bet you a shiny new penny that they don't even discuss what they are going to do on the commercial front, which is insane given the captive market we have and this clever new fangled thing called the internet). Where's the SC Fan's Channel on YouTube? I could go on all day, but this is what's needed, of course they are struggling to get people to come forward to give up precious time when all they want to do is the same stuff, some of which is probably 30 years out of date now. Admirable sentiments but when they read comments like that or some others on here what is the incentive for youngsters to put themselves sir ward only to be shot at by those self same people who are still bitter about their failure 12 years ago. If you are a member then fine but why not go to the AGM and put forward some proposal. If you are not then why not because you cannot change the rules of any club if you are not a member. Simplistic I know but true The incentive is that they can create a modern, relevant SC. Those comments are more constructive and progressive than any of the sniping I can find from you on this thread Did I say that I was going to do it? No, I didn't, all I did was reply to Harry who doesn't seem to understand what the problem is. Stop with this desperate attempt to rake over 2006, nobody is biting, and here's why. It involved Geoff, sadly he's no longer here to put his side of the story and without him and his Father there may well not be a Rovers for us to be discussing. Let it go.

I know Geoff side of the story from him and I can assure you that if he and Denis had not stepped in there would have been no bristol rovers. As for snipping all I am doing is pointing out that all the criticism is coming from non members who seem to take great delight in telling us that we are useless and need reform but aren't prepared to join and try to change things

I fully understand the situation actually...having worked in central government for best part of four decades the Change model was introduced countless times some accepted it willingly some hated any change and some had to be convinced that its part of progress. The BRSC organisation is long standing and relies on members coming forward to help run it and provide a service for its members. It fell out big time in the early 1960s with the Football Club Eric Godfrey and co but still provided vital funds to help the club survive. So Gerald you should take this opportunity to make a difference. You know you really want to.

OK, if you understand the problem, go explain it to Jim, because if he carries on as he is the SC will slowly dwindle and cease to be.

Delight? I can only speak for myself, but for me you've got that wrong, one on hand I applaud the people who turn up every week to do the programmes, 50/50 etc and ask for nothing in return, on the other, it's sad to watch the organisation itself becoming increasingly more detached from the next generations of fans coming through. Jim needs to be careful managing relationships with the club, he could find one day that all match day operations such as programme selling and even away travel, have been outsourced to an external agency. Just a thought.
