There are perfectly valid points made by the original poster, I think we all feel frustrated at the lack of apparent off the field progress, and it is unfortunate for the owners that this has coincided with a dip in league form.
In the defense of Wael and his family, they stated from the outset that this would be a gradual, evolution project. They made it clear from the outset that this was no Chelsea-style injection of cash. All they promised was to build and grow the football club, from the bottom up. I still believe that he and his family are good ambassadors for this club, and I still believe that they saved this club from administration. On the back of that, they deserve time to deliver their vision for Bristol Rovers.
Having said all that, it would be nice to see builders happily creating a training ground right now. That would deflect a lot of the criticism and back up the evolution story.
I see no problem in examining what is going on, as long as we do not sink to the insults (from all parties) that dogged a lot of the Geoff Dunford / Nick Higgs era.
Can anybody explain if there's not a big cash injection how The Colony is going to be built at a minimum cost of £5m(?) Plus where's the £30m(?) going to come from to regenerate the Mem? Although somebody on Gaschat is now suggesting The Colony has now joined the UWE in being binned for Plan B!
You don't need a big cash injection not to do something.
So you have no proof that this has been stated then ?
If there is no UWE and the Colony is binned would that be proof enough for you?
Nope, Your Comment "We know Hani has pulled the funding" tells me you have proof of this actual statement not what may happen.
IF and that's a big IF they pull the plug and move the club on to some unknown punter then i would concede the point and start to worry about the future.
To date all i have heard is innuendo and rumours, nothing to back up your "We Know" statement
BUT i do fear your point may come true in which case we are f***ed !

Good onto the yale business school interview with hani.it is quite revealing

Ok, I know enough to convince me that this is the case - it's a bit more than innuendo and rumour, the company invloved in the Colony debacle are Gasheads.
Even you choose to dismiss it all as gossip, you must admit that everything that has happened since the plug was pulled on the UWE ties in with the rumours?
If they were going to build the Colony they'd already be building it, you know it, I know it.
As for the Mem pipe dream....

All this is nothing to do with me - I signed Rickie Lambert.

that seems like generic MENA investment talk to me
the stress on the long-term, and on price, might be particularly pertinent to BRFC, but I can't see why it isn't equally applicable to all opportunities
Dear OP, please log off, delete your account, and never return.
Dear Jungle Boogie, I think twitter might be mre up your street, Sir. You can choose who you follow. This is not an individual echo chamber. This is an open forum for argument and debate. I disagree fundamentally with some of Bluesky's OP. But why on earth should he log off, delete his account, or stay away? He's an eccentric old goat, but a gashead. He loves the manager and the hardest running players. He made his points. Please leave him alone and make your own points in disagreement. That's the whole point, is it not? Yours sincerely, S H Oveler
There you go, I've highlighted the important bit.
My comment may not be 'debate', but using the above reasoning, if I feel he's talking bollocks, I can answer as I chose fit. UTG

Why would you purchase land if you are not going to use it? As I understand they have put in re-planning and are waiting for that. Or can anyone prove that is not he case? What irks me is that there is so many rumours all based on people who know f**k all. Yesterday I had a customer refuse to pay because she hasn't got the money. Does that mean I will stop work? No, it means I take her to court

Do you need 24hr care to avoid you taking any comment or situation so literally?
It strikes me that what Hani, Hamer, or any other emerging bogeyman has been found guilty of is not doing enough good, fast enough - not enough trophy signings, not declaring money to be no object, not accepting whatever deal was available from UWE, not causing South Glos planning to break their usual procedures, not warping the space-time continuum, whatever.
I think folk with those expectations are likely to be disappointed whoever's running the gaff, and I can't see what they do with that disappointment, other than be glum. I'm happy enough with them clearing the (external) debt (which was about to kick us in the balls big time), setting an agenda and framework to run us as a professional football club, and generally ditching the old string and sealing wax / Toni the Till mentality that had blighted us for years. It's forwards, not stagnation / decline. If it's not forwards fast enough for some folk, and perfection first time on every horizon, well there you go.

Now I'm confused.
So, you make the effort to post views, but it would be a mistake to assume that you mean what you've actually written. How the heck is that the basis for any form of communication?
Is there a Babel fish, or some form of translation chart available please

Well, you're wrong, but correction's maybe not the issue: you've heard and repeated some words, reassembled them in the wrong order, got the wrong end of the stick, and misssed the point. It reminds me of the old joke: Q: How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb? A: Banana.
There's nothing wrong with debt, generically. It's often a very good thing. It's the who and the how and the when and the what and the what-if. After all, owing Higgs and co in the old regime wasn't an issue: owing NCP or whatever they were called, or any lender of last resort, secured against a bet that we'll win a court case that we'd already lost, and with the clock ticking towards 'boom', was.
