Absolutely pathetic thread. Completely cringeworthy from Gasheads when she came on to treat Montano. A lot of people let themselves down.

Jo the physio is a personal friend of mine she work for the NHS in Devon and has been a gashead all her life she has offered to drive from devon at her own expense after her day job to fill in until we can get another physio since the last person left without warning. She has the FA's sports injury qualification and is a chartered physio therapist and most of all a gashead doing the club a favour. Physios with the FA's qualification do not grow on trees and would be very difficult to find at short notice. if she had not volunteered to help last week we would have had to postpone the game against Northampton and would probably have been docked points or fined for not fulfilling a fixture. If we had got someone else they could have charged us the earth taking advantage of the crisis but Jo is such a sweetie she is doing it for nothing to help the club she loves. So comments about her fitness etc are way out of order. Just setting things straight.

Big up and thanks to Jo.
How we got in a state to need her to stand is a different matter, but good on her.

My favourite part was when she ran. Lets hope you NEVER need the services from somebody in the emergency services who is slightly overweight then.

She cannot have gone into this with her eyes closed though; over 5000 people, predominately men, many who have been drinking and go to let of steam, will find something to mock. I am certain, now you have explained the position, that there would be less written banter. I am not sure you would stop the crowd and I sincerely hope that it does not stop Jo volunteering. On behalf of many, please pass on our gratitude.

I am not sure what all these FA qualifications to go on the pitch for a physio are all about. All seems a bit nonsensical to me.
If their is a serious injury the Doctor or paramedics will be needed. I mean what else to footballers go down with strains or knocks they just run off
Yes clubs need qualified Physios, but then there is taking it to the extreme for what seems little real reason
edit:
Thanks for volunteering Jo

It's strange that in rugby (sorry to mention the "r" word) which seems to have a lot of physios who are female and where people are allowed to drink on the terraces, the crowds don't seem to react in such a manner. Perhaps they get out more.... As you say interceptor, well done to her and many thanks.

I believe crowds over 3,000 has to have a doctor at the stadium on duty. FL rules suggest a qualified physio can access the field to treat injuries and if serious a club doctor comes on to treat the injured player as what happened last evening

Thanks Medical-Gas for explaining about Jo - pity the club did not do this in advance, or maybe they did and we missed it?
Well done Jo and I hope Gas heads show our true appreciation on your next outing

I guess the bigger picture is do you want a Sports Therapist treating injured players during the week or a fully qualified physio? Given all the problems we've had with injured players never recovering in recent years I'm surprised the club didn't stick with a physio, regardless of the cost.

Oh yes, clubs definitely need them on their staff.
it's just the being allowed on the pitch rubbish that gets me, why only a physio with x,y,z FA qualification or whatever can go on the pitch when you have doctors and paramedics around

I personally thought Jo was great; would not be easy running onto the pitch in front of such a large crowd, IMO BRFC should offer her the job full time. Keep up the good work Jo. UTG
