It's silly to compare seasons really because you can't get much empirical data when clubs and players change each season. Would you say this season has been more competitive than when the top two clubs got 103 and 98 points? What does 'competitive' mean anyway? It could just mean that the top clubs are crapper than in previous seasons I apologise for being so silly. Silly me Well then, consider yourself told . . . and don't do it again, or else.

Whether we agree with the highlighted part of Bamber's post (or not) is one thing, but he's certainly right about the contribution being made by the present assistant manager. Well done Marcus Stewart. He wants to manage a club one day, he has said. I think he already is. Did Darrell sleep with your wife?

Sorry, but you are talking bollocks again. Whether we agree with the highlighted part of Bamber's post (or not) is one thing, but he's certainly right about the contribution being made by the present assistant manager. Well done Marcus Stewart. He wants to manage a club one day, he has said. Sorry, I'll withdraw and ask for some clarification from Bamber. "In the same way that Clarke was largely responsible for relegation, you can't ignore the role being played by this season's assistant manager." Interpretation 1: Bamber genuinely thinks that the greatest ( largely) reason for our relegation and Marcus Stewart would similarly be to blame for our failure to get promoted this season. Interpretation 2: Bamber was being ironic and mocking those who thought Clarke was responsible for relegation and similarly mocks those who would blame Marcus Stewart if we failed to get promotion this season. Interpretation 3: Bamber genuinely thinks that the greatest (largely) reason for our relegation, but Marcus Stewart has been a significant contributor to our success this season. Interpretation 4: Bamber was being ironic and mocking those who thought Clarke was responsible for relegation and believes that Marcus Stewart has been a significant contributor to our success this season. etc. etc. I'm with number 4.

Did Darrell sleep with your wife? She has better taste than that. But he did form half of the management team that got my football my football club relegated by not being able to finish 90th out of 92 teams, form got worse when he took sole charge and he did line up in that final game with 3 defenders. Some mistakes are built to last.

I'm a great believer in looking forward to the future Bamber and not to dwell to much on the past

Some mistakes are built to last. Yes, he did - he was the junior half. Straight out of part time football, left in the lurch by John Ward. He's now the senior member of management team that might take us back up, having built a harmonious, performing squad - a responsibility he didn't have under Ward. Yet in this case you lavish praise on Stewart and give Clarke no credit. Why?

Come 5PM we have 3 points in the bag and yet again he proves he knows best. Super, spot on, only the facts (15 draws against 5th tier rubbish) get in the way of a superb assessment. Are you related to monster monster

No way. The real question though is will we be able to keep him here? I seriously hope so because above all he's delivered belief where before there was none,

I seriously hope so because above all he's delivered belief where before there was none, The fact is that the managers s two-year contract expires in June. Do you think that there is any behind-the-scenes activity, or are both sides toughing it out? All idle speculation of course.

There's a mutual love in at the moment, I'd imagine neither want the distraction of contract talks.

Anyway i just find Bambers constant Clarke bashing and trolling boring. It must be a barrell of laughs watching us get to second and have a shot of going straight back stood or sat with him

The club would not want him to leave; however, he may get a better offer else where. Only time will tell, lets enjoy the next couple of weeks and go up as champions, or via Wembley. UTG

If by chance we don't get promoted either as champs or play offs do we get rid of DC and give somebody else a chance ?? I say NO BTW by then the new owners may well be in place so it would not be down to NH to select a replacement Are you f' in serious? Why pose that question now? Why even consider the question? Friday afternoon. Suspect drink may have been taken.

91 out of 92 FL managers would have had midfielders fill in, not ignore the problem. We still would have only had 3 defenders. But the chap filling in at right back would have had a simple tackle/clearance to make. Instead it was left to Matt Harrold to come across to try to block a left wing cross. He failed, and Mansfield scored, and we got relegated out of the League. And that was Clarke's fault, in my opinion. He's doing an alright job of making things right though. I would have sacked him 11 months ago, but I wouldn't be considering it now. And I think I would have been wrong 11 months ago.

And I think I would have been wrong 11 months ago. You could pick any reason and pinpoint it. JW said we would have been fine with a fit Ryan Brunt. Possibly, but then he never brought anyone in. If O Toole hadnt been a dick and got suspended for being a dick he might have sscored a couple more goals etc etc
