If by chance we don't get promoted either as champs or play offs do we get rid of DC and give somebody else a chance ??
I say NO BTW
by then the new owners may well be in place so it would not be down to NH to select a replacement

No, if we don't go up this year, we support DC as much as we can and walk the league next year. The worst thing we could do is try to do things more cheaply next year. Even if we can't afford it, really, we couldn't risk yet another year down here.

Yes, football's a results business, if we fail to get promoted the manager has failed in his main task. Picture this, we don't regain league status and lose the Sainsburys case, other than the probability we'll be the '15ers would you really keep DC?

Cannot be a serious question surely? Who would want to get rid of a manager who has turned things round so quickly (except Mr Ted of course).

I think he has been bloody marvellous pulling this ailing club up by its bootstraps on the field at least. He has attracted back fans who I thought were lost forever. Not by brilliant flowing football necessarily but by building a team we can relate to. No big time Charlie's, lots of honest, genuine guys who are prepared to do a shift for the club.
If he goes it will be only be into the league. With or without us!

The more I think about it we should probably get shot even if we get back into the FL. DC snatched defeat from the jaws of victory to get us relegated and we should have walked the conference this year and haven't, so yes don't renew his contract at the end of the season come what may, there are rafts of better managers out there.

Absolutely not. When he took over, I wanted DC out. Heck, I would have been happy for him to have gone around November time. Not now, even if we dont go up. The bloke has completely turned me around. Yes he makes mistakes, but hes a bloody good manager in the making.
Last seasons exploits meant that this year was the first year I didnt renew my ST after 17 straight seasons of having one. I have got one again for next season again regardless, mostly due to the fact that the style of football/the type of players DC has brought to the club have really helped me fall back in love with the Rovers and going to games again.

No way on earth should we sack him, however I do feel that if we do not go up we will be lucky to keep him, because others may come in for him.

I suppose it all depends what happens should we finish in the Play Offs, as would you want DC in charge next season if say FGR or Eastleigh beat us over 2 legs?

If we don't go up he'll be the manager who took us down and failed to take us back...with that kind of dross on his cv he'd be lucky to get the gig with Clifton St Vincent's reserves.

Was he to blame for our relegation? No
Has he had to work under ridiculous pressure? Yes
Does he have to work under a difficult BoD? Yes
Is he always looking to strengthen in the transfer market and keep players on there toes? Yes
Does he play good football with 2 up front and look to win every game? Yes
Are his interviews fake media trained s**te? No
Is he obsessed with wanting the very best for this football club? Yes
He is a top coach on the training ground and well liked by the players? Yes
Will he put up with Bulls**t from anyone? No
At 37 years of age does he currently & potentially have a long successful future in management? Yes
Would i like him to manage us for the next 3 years minimum? Yes
He has all the ingredients needed to take this club back to the football league either this season or next season, and keep us there. The question is not whether Higgs will keep him but if Darrell feels wanted enough to stay, and feels appreciated enough to turn down offers that will come in for him in the summer.

Looking at the gig he was given I bet he'd have plenty of offers if he did leave us. Also don't forget most season's 90+ pts would achieve straight promotion.

In the same way that Clarke was largely responsible for relegation, you can't ignore the role being played by this season's assistant manager.

Because every ex league team goes back up via walking the league in their first season here. Get over yourself. What I like about DC is how often he changes the team, and people moan and moan. Come 5PM we have 3 points in the bag and yet again he proves he knows best.

I say no, but if we don't go up then my view is this season has been a massive failure. I'm not one of those who will think "didn't we do well, we were in with a shout right up to the last week and a playoff place was fantastic given the circumstances". "Nearly" getting promoted will not be good enough. But if we don't go up then having said all that I'd still keep DC otherwise we're back to square one again.
