I just wish they'd cut the bulls**t out and start being honest, stop trying to spin things, stop treating the supporters like they're robots programmed to believe whatever you say and tell it how it is. I wouldn't have had much of a problem if he'd come out and said "unfortunately due to the delays caused by various appeals we will not have enough time to build the stadium for entry in 2015, so instead of leaving an empty stadium taking up money for 8 months we've decided to delay building slightly" instead of the aims, mights and buts we've been fed in a lie lined misery sandwich for the past decade.

Exactly Dave. I think that the stadium would have been built without the delays caused by needless legal actions but those people were cleverer then people give them credit for and they knew that by delaying the development for as long as possible would be their best way of scuppering the plans. I think that they might have succeeded and with relegation to non league and the downturn in supermarket expansion The UWE is currently on hold. If that is the case then tell the fans if not let's have a statement and not spin from all parties including Sainsbury's who haven't said a word for months.

I think making the new stadium the priority cost us our league status and what was happening on the pitch was left in the wrong hands for too long.
I can't believe there wasn't dissent and unrest in the "Box 1 Bunker", if the Stadium stops it will be time to get the "hard hats" out around the Boardroom table!

To be honest; I am personally, really ******* off. It is always one thing after another, and there are probably a whole pile of other problems waiting down the road which Higgs thinks we are not allowed to be told about. I would not be at all surprised, and who could blame them if Sainsburys say enough is enough and walk away. The fact of the matter is Higgs has taken the club from the first division to the conference league, and it would appear we are in free fall. UTG

Well for the short term the ground is now off until 2016. Therefore:it is very unlikely any work will take place in 2014 at all. Maybe work might start next spring for 15-18 months for 2016 completion. But NH and the spin machine team quietly slips statements in like " We aim to build this year".
My own view is work could of started in May 2014 and they could of pressed ahead. However: it seems very unlikely as time goes on it will ever be delivered. Nick higgs said " He will give a more detailed report in a few weeks". So details to me is " We will start work in the 3 months or so around September ". I fear it will be " Things are ongoing and i will report in a few months time". We are becoming experts at spin...
It appears as time go:s on we say nothing but state a report or statement is to follow. A wonderful way to avoid the burning issue..

Unless you are privy to Boardroom talks how would you know that is the case?
As far as being built to budget if the stadium is delayed by yet another 12 months how is that possible when construction costs are continually increasing?

And lets all be honest. If NH don:t know in a months or twos time. When in another 3 months time the start date. We/he will never know.

Henbury speaks with more courage and conviction on the stadium then the chairman of the FC who is supposedly running the project
Wouldnt it be great if the Chair himself could deliver definitive statements like Henburys.
If it is full spec, why cant he say so, when a few weeks ago he was hinting that TRASH may have cause problems with the full fit out
A clear message from the club would be nice wouldnt it

Look at Sainsbury's trading figures and how they are achieving them, it raises very serious questions about whether they need to expand. The whole project is hanging by a thread, in my opinion. As for TRASH, what a bunch of idiots, the ones who live on the opposite side of Muller Rd could have had the football moved 2 miles away and a supermarket which won't affect them in any way, now they will be stuck with football traffic for the forseeable. Well done you!

The next update will be critical imo. Nick Higgs have only just ruled out a missed opportunity for a May/June start. So in his own words he is close to a start date. If he fails in his next statement to say " We will start work around about September" ( which gives a good 3 months). Then I think it becoming unlikely.
I think the statement on the O.S yesterday have hit everyone for six. Whether it was intentional or not will be clearer in the so called detailed update at the end of June,,,

Well done you! If the budget has not been set how can we go over budget ?? It may well go over estimate but as with most estimates you build in a 10% contingency cost Also with the new investment coming next week from the new board member(s) any other costs should be covered

Am I missing something? When has higgs said the stadium is on hold?
He said it won't be ready for the 2015/16 season now, that they were in the process of summiting paper work to start, which includes start dates.
None of the delays were are fault. Some fans twist every thing so they can have a go at the board.

Henbury If you seem to know a lot can you answer a simple question??. When will the stadium work start roughly . I think all the rest is a bit secondary i much prefer to know the when question ..

I repeat, I think The UWE stadium would have started had it not been for TRASH now I'm not so sure.

It couldn't possibly have started in May 2014 with the listing application still outstanding. Sainsbury's will not release the money while there is still the chance of the structures at the ground having listed status. To start work without the funding in place would be madness. NH has said that the necessary preparations are taking place. No start date can be given until Savid Javid gives a final no to the listing request. A smart move therefore to have Charlotte Leslie bring him to the ground and express support for the scheme, as there is now only one way his decision can go. NH is hardly going to underplay the delay to the man he's relying on to decide in our favour. As soon as the listing refusal is official, the final paperwork can be signed off and Buckingham Group can start their 5 week lead in period before starting on site. That probably puts us in August/September.
