I think you are wrong - it will be built as per spec and to budget Not a chance. The build cost has increased. It would depend when it was costed and how surely. There was no way that it was going to be built or started before say June this year. So supposedly everything would have been costed at today's prices. And then they would have realised that costs go up. Granted if there is an extended delay then yes, the cost has gone up. At the moment I wouldn't think it's gone much above if at all what they've estimated.

Am I missing something? When has higgs said the stadium is on hold? He said it won't be ready for the 2015/16 season now, that they were in the process of summiting paper work to start, which includes start dates. None of the delays were are fault. Some fans twist every thing so they can have a go at the board. Oh come on, nobody has to twist a damn thing if they seriously want to have a go at the BoD. Just look at the fact based evidence going back decades if you want to have a go at the BoD it's that simple. i.e. Poor comms, relegation from the FL, continualy mounting debts, etc, etc. The list is frankly ENDLESS. As Kevin said, don't see this thread as that at all. All people are saying is give us the TRUTH, be honest with the supporters for a change. Cut out the political speak, weasel words and the non answering of questions and leave that to the House of Commons. Is that really to much to ask? We are their paying customers after all.

Henbury If you seem to know a lot can you answer a simple question??. When will the stadium work start roughly . I think all the rest is a bit secondary i much prefer to know the when question .. If i was a betting man i would say Sept 2014 subject to the final Non material Amendments being sorted out

Clear communication helps. Choose the words carefully, but then NH couldnt even s a simple yes to whether DC would be manager or not. Id rather listen to a confident bull s**tter than one making it up on the fly

You keep asking for a definite date when at the moment it is impossible to give one for the reasons already discussed. If the listing application is finally canned and any amendments sorted by the end of June, then NH will be a able to give a start date. If they haven't been, he won't be able to.

Higg's quote was taken from an article quoting what he said to the SoS, not from a statement of any kind. They'll be calling this the BRFC Speculation Forum soon.

The day before we were finalising pre commencement paperwork, the day after NH made it sound more like we hope to get to work this year. Pretty mixed message if you ask me He could easily have repeated his line from the day before

All that is needed is honesty and openness and we can all move on and support what we have. Yes but you are not allowed to support it are you?

Not a chance. The build cost has increased. If everything is under control Higgs would be shouting it from the roof tops. Look at Sainsbury's trading figures and how they are achieving them, it raises very serious questions about whether they need to expand. The whole project is hanging by a thread, in my opinion. As for TRASH, what a bunch of idiots, the ones who live on the opposite side of Muller Rd could have had the football moved 2 miles away and a supermarket which won't affect them in any way, now they will be stuck with football traffic for the forseeable. Well done you! If the budget has not been set how can we go over budget ?? It may well go over estimate but as with most estimates you build in a 10% contingency cost Also with the new investment coming next week from the new board member(s) any other costs should be covered Ummmmmm? Your tieing yourself up in knots here, it was you who said it would be built ''as per spec and to budget'', now you say no budget has been set.

So many people on here spouting absolute rubbish about the UWE development - when in reality no one can put a start date of the build until all areas including the "Listing" appeal have been signed off, Sainsbury's entirely happy with their side of the deal and Nick entirely happy with his build arrangements, UWE/SGC happy all their boxes ticked.
It's a major £200m development and everything has to be by the book.
Nick probably can't put a time scale on it yet but he has said it will be started this year, 62 week build, we can move in then when it's ready and been checked out. In my mind I'm looking at Xmas 2015 or a month or two after.
Any information he gives us at the moment has to be vague because nothing is certain until all the ducks are lined up.

If they said we will start this year and something else happened everybody would kick off. Just another excuse for some to moan. Maybe we should have a daily update to keep people happy lol

Toteend and Henbury seem to speak more confident about the project then the Chairman of the club. How does that work?

I don:t think we will all agree on this one but I think the majority on this forum saw yesterdays statement as very mixed. To say " We may not be ready for a 2015 start " eg:June 2014 alpha. And then say "We AIM to start this year" seems a broad term.
How can you be so near but so far?. And some of us are being challenged not question the board and create blame culture. But we are experts at blame culture. We blamed Horfield Rose about the 18000 revamp and later we pulled out on a different matter. We are blaming this academic regarding the SOS appeal (EH) and we dont even know if it had been confirmed HE appealed. We blamed Bristol City council " saying they never support us " And the majority South Bristol Labour party voted in our favour and then we all went quiet. We love to blame others lets be honest for once ...

Sometimes it's the right thing to do but sometimes is bloody embarrassing. Geoff Twentyman once took his gloves off and challenged Nick Higgs for overseeing a blame culture. Wait and see who is in line for the blame for the next bit of bad news.

Not delayed by us!!! The delay was out of our hands. Let's all have a go at the board for something trash have caused. Still trying to start the work, just won't be ready for the start of 2015/16 now. Careful ,Dan,you are spoiling their fun by talking sense
