I could only pick from my era, with one exception, surely Geoff Bradford would have to top any list. Then from those I saw play or manage Vaughan Jones Gerry Francis Stuart Taylor Bruce Bannister Alan Warboys Frankie Prince Paul Randall Marcus Stewart Nigel Martyn I saw Harold as a manager but not as a player, I'm sure he would be in many peoples top 10. 10 isn't enough! I've missed out Lambert , DC, Holloway(thinking about it, whatever I think of his punditry he really should be in my top 10), Boris, Rammell wasn't here for long but certainly deserves a mention even someone like Christian Maclean- who certainly gave it everything. In fact, can I have the entire 89/90 squad

And GC from Republic of Ireland. Buckle was on another planet but don’t know if was born there Let’s not start this debate about whether Ireland is in the British isles It's not really something to debate about, Ireland IS in the British Isles. Great Britain and the British Isles are not the same thing

I thought we deserved a point at the very least today. I certainly saw signs that we may escape relegation but at the same time can see why we are a lower third division side. I have always been slightly baffled when, after a win or defeat, forums (not just this one) and social media are full of suggestions that the result 'prove' a posters opinion. It was one game in a long season, we are a team in the bottom half, there will be more days like today, but hopefully a few more like last Tuesday.

The only upside to Barton that I can see is that his ugly antics would attract the oxygen of publicity to the club. But I don't thinks it's the type of publicity which Wael would appreciate I think that’s more Fleetwood’s chairman’s modus operandi than Wael’s. But then I was somewhat surprised that Wael has a photo with John Terry in the public domain. Sorry, but for me he is as controversial if not more so than Barton and yet he has been able to totally brazen out all his controversies and as a result he seems to be fêted, in the bending the knee era, no less! The likes of you or I would have been ex-communicated from society for even the merest hint of racist comments in our workplace. Money trumping morality when it comes to football, as usual. Anyway, I digress...so with that photo of John Terry in mind I wouldn’t completely rule it out that Wael would opt for Barton. I don't think it is remotely surprising that a Chelsea fan would have his picture taken with someone who is viewed as a legend at that club.

The club he supported since he was a boy? Has he only just remembered to say that? It's been mentioned more than once I must have missed that then. I don't think it matters whether he supported us or not tbh, but I suspect his take on supporting a club is a tad different to ours. I suspect what he actually means is 'I lived in Bath so went along to a couple of matches'.

The club he supported since he was a boy? Has he only just remembered to say that? I did raise an eyebrow!. I did jury service with him about 20 years ago when he was at Team Bath. We discussed football, he knew I was a Rovers fan, at no point did he say he was as well!

Just to have a moan- because it wouldn't be Rovers if we didn't have at least one gripe- what on earth was Kilgour thinking of with their penalty and was I the only one who kept shouting 'Get out the f**king way ref' !

He was here when Day first arrived wasn’t he? I’m being sarcastic either way. Looks like they have all been cheating us. Hopefully we can get to the end of the season still in League 1 and the new man will sort out the ones who have been letting the two previous managers down. I struggle to believe that any group of players actually 'cheats' a set of fans. Often clubs are affected by a certain malaise and that seeps through into performances, but I really don't think it is a wilful decision by players not to bother trying.

No wonder Rovers are going no where -- Reading a lot of the posts on this topic and the New manager we are stuck in a bloody time warp. Forget the family club motto, Time to be a little bit nastier/tasty. It seems a lot of fans on this particular forum are too nice and would be happy to have a little 4th division club playing in a sub standard stadium/ground. And there we have it. Rovers lack of success can be put down to a few old farts on a forum, used by a miniscule amount of it's support, not being 'tasty' enough. Who knew?

The Mem has always been my preferred option. People can bang on all they want about football being a business and that every club has to have ambition to play at this or that level to survive. Well it isn't for me. Football- specifically Rovers- is a chance to meet up with mates have a laugh and a drink and, on increasingly rare occasions, be thrilled by a result or performance. Being in walking distance of Gloucester Road enhances my enjoyment no end. Promotion against Dagenham was one of the most enjoyable days of my life, it will stay with me to the end. If we had been in an out of town stadium miles from the nearest pub, I'm pretty sure that day would have been nowhere near so much fun. I'm 56 years old and-some may say selfishly- whatever long term benefits the club may get from a new ground are of little interest to me. I want to enjoy going to Rovers now. Absolutely spot on and, apart from me living in Kingswood, this is totally how I feel. I’m 57 and would love to experience at least one or two more days like that, 3 day hangover didn’t matter. I live in Hanham, it's the ground being within walking distance of Gloucester Road that I like. Even the journey home back to Hanham was fun that night, taxi to Kingswood to carry on celebrating there- but then realising I couldn't drink another drop, trying to stagger home and bumped into mates doing the same thing. Like you. one more day like that and I'll be happy!

Today is all about mentality. I've looked back at our results in games following previous thrashings - some of which led to managers leaving. 2010 / 11 - the 6 - 2 defeat at Sheff Wed led to Trollope leaving after 5 years. First game afterwards: 0 - 2 at MK Dons. Things actually got worse, with 12 defeats in the next 17 games, including a 6 - 1 drubbing at Walsall. This was the year of Dave Penney, Stuart Campbell - and ultimately - relegation to League Two. 2011 / 12 - a 2 - 0 loss at Barnet proved to be the last game for Paul Buckle. This came hot on the heels of two heavy home defeats: 2 - 3 to Plymouth and 2 - 5 to Crewe. Buckle had fallen out badly with both players and fans. First game after he left: a 2 - 1 win at Hereford under caretaker boss Shaun North. Mark McGhee took over soon afterwards and our form turned for the better, with only 2 defeats in 10. 2012 / 13 - the wheels were coming off under McGhee. The Gas were 4 - 1 down before HT at York (sounds familiar?!) and the board pulled the trigger. John Ward took over and we secured a 2 - 2 draw at Adlershot. Form picked up noticeably, with 6 wins in the next 9. 2018 / 19 - a 0 - 4 home defeat to Doncaster ended Darrell's reign. GC took over just before Christmas with us in the relegation zone. Although his first game was a 2 - 1 loss at Sunderland, we showed a lot of spirit. Results again improved, with only 2 defeats in the next 16. We stayed up. Conclusions: In the game immediately after a game where we've been thrashed and / or the manager has lost their job, we've NEVER kept a clean sheet. However, we did win one (after Buckle left). The question on my mind is: what type of team are we this season? Are we the 2010 / 11 squad - where the 6 - 1 drubbing at Sheff Wed only led to more humiliating scores and relegation; or the 2018/19 team who have enough in us mentally to turn this around? In all those previous cases, the heavy defeats did lead to managers losing their jobs. We can only guess what results would have been like if they'd stayed in post. At the moment, this season's situation is different: Tisdale is still in charge. The others had been in post longer (although Buckle had only been boss for six months). Predictions for today at Fleetwood: If we're a 2010 / 11 team... it's certainly a 0 - 2 or 0 - 3 defeat and I think Tisdale will go. The Fleetwood team will be desperate to impress their new boss. Their long overdue a win and don't concede many goals. If we're a DC / GC team... we can possibly hope for a 1 - 1 battling draw. Fleetwood should also be low on confidence after a poor run themselves. I expect Tisdale to play 4-5-1 or 5-4-1 with Daly replacing Hanlon up front. If Upson is fit (doubtful?), I expect him to return. It'll be interesting to see whether Oztumer and Westbrooke play too. It's clear they have plenty of talent, but I sense PT is very disappointed with them. UTG I hope he doesn't. I have no idea or not whether Tisdale can turn things around, but I'm pretty sure continually hiring and firing managers in a desperate hope that we may find the right man won't be the answer.
