PAUL TISDALE STATEMENT STATEMENT RELEASED ON BEHALF OF PAUL TISDALE
MY CLUB
It is with deep sadness that I have departed BRFC. The club that I have supported since I was a boy. I joined the academy as a 10-year-old and can now say that I had the privilege to manage the club I supported...if only for 12 weeks. My biggest disappointment is missing the opportunity to manage a match at the Memorial Stadium packed with home supporters.
PLAYERS
I would like to thank the players for their commitment and efforts. In a short space of time, I felt a tangible improvement in their performances. They were truly great to coach. The performances they gave in my time as manager were a credit to them. (Especially in my last two when we needed a result so badly). I wish them the very best of luck with the remainder of the season and in their future careers. Coaching and developing players is both my forte and my passion and despite some difficult results the players always listened and gave everything for the team. In the space of only 3 months, I have forged some very strong relationships and will be monitoring their careers closely. I know I could have really made a difference in their careers.
DIFFICULT TIMES
Covid has made everyone’s lives incredibly challenging, and despite a host of logistical difficulties, it was a privilege to be working and doing what I love. Given more time, I’m sure I could have brought joy and pride to the fans following us from home. Football has never been so important.
FRUSTRATIONS
I leave my role with the full knowledge that I could not have given more to the role. Sadly, it became clear that differences of opinion regarding the balance of the squad and how we should move forward meant that working together would have become frustrating for all concerned. I understand the nuances of operating within a larger hierarchical structure and I have always strived to collaborate with those around me. This doesn’t mean my feeling for the club changes in any way. Whoever is in charge, I wish the club every success in the future.
THANK YOU
I’d like to thank the club President Wael for my appointment in late November. I really appreciate the opportunity. To the friendly staff around the club who made me feel very welcome - these long-serving people will always be the very soul of any club - I urge you to retain the joy in being part of the BR family. And most importantly to the players who tried so hard. I will always respect them for that.
March on.

The dangers of an owners appointment which those beneath do not agree with. Hopefully the current recruitment will be conducted by all of those who have to work with the manager on a daily basis because clearly there was friction between them from the outset and Tis's spell was only going to end one way. Those already at the club needed to be proven right.
Time to move on.

The friction was obvious from Widdrington's comments and for whatever reason they couldn't work together. Do they have any history?
What I find interesting and wonder is what a manager does when he comes into a club? Do they do one to one's, group chats etc? Tisdale came in and was saying, I need to get to know the players and in theory Tommy could/should help there. Strengths, weaknesses, why x,y,z were signed (Ayunga seems a case in point based off, of last night). Compare that to DC's interview at Port Vale

A very dignified statement.
I thought it was interesting in TW's interview that he said he'd taken advice from the coaches on the players. Perhaps PT wasn't afforded the same information.

The club he supported since he was a boy? Has he only just remembered to say that?

Why didn't he mention that when he got the job?
It seems to me that there may have a problem between him and TW - and that's where things started to break down.

The club he supported since he was a boy? Has he only just remembered to say that? He said it when he joined the club and how he watched us at Twerton. Some strange comments , vilifying Ollie on Bristol live too. I wonder if people want truth or just don’t care, so long as there is a next game. We are seemingly quick to forget things.

I saw his interview when he joined the club and said that he had played for the club as a youngster and supported the team at Twerton Park. I also agree with your other comments regarding TW but he won a game last night so it doesn't matter. Those within the game have his card marked though.

I don't care what Paul has to say, he had his chance to do his talking on the pitch, the players still sh*t the same colour as they did under him and I can guarantee we would have lost last night had he still been in charge. Tiss off Paul.

I don't think it matters whether he supported us or not tbh, but I suspect his take on supporting a club is a tad different to ours. I suspect what he actually means is 'I lived in Bath so went along to a couple of matches'.

PT should be the next Northampton manager as quite frankly, what a load of old cobblers.
Rovers fan? Hmmm kept that quiet his whole career. Tried their hardest? Accrington, anyone? B0ll0cks so say apology letter from Ehmer, anyone? Played fabulous losing 0-2 v Oxford?
Only thing I can't work out is if it's horse or bull?
A dignified statement, but he had his chance and arguably made things worse. I'm glad he's gone.

I don't see the problem with his comments, he doesnt have to go around telling people who he supports, bleeds blue etc his entire career.
The manager should manager, it sounds like he was more of a team leader and that doesn't bode well for our next appt.

My first thought having read that and listened to the interview after last night's game is that our club is totally dysfunctional.
Tisdale appears to be saying that the structure is unworkable, last night's interview was riddled with veiled criticism of him, and what appeared to be a direct broadside at Holloway.
Maybe B***** would fit in after all?
