Remember getting there early in the afternoon for that game and going straight to the Arkells pub... Yayyy! We were there too....in there for hours before as went up in minibus. We tried nicking the dartboard! Haha! Don't know why....?....perils of alcohol methinks. After the first game several fans celebrated the prospect of a trip to Anfield in the FoB bar at Twerton, as those people left one of them decided that the- very large- 'Welcome To Twerton' carpet at the entrance to the ground would look great in their 3 bedroom terraced house in Redfield, it took 4 people to carry it . We, I mean they got around half a mile from the ground with it before a passing police car induced some panic, and the carpet was dropped. It was back in place for the next home game

To one moment in one game, and live it again, what would it be? Extra points for the obscure and interesting. Mine would be Worrel Sterling’s goal in a 4-3 comeback at home at twerton, think it was V Bradford. It was a scuffed mis*** goal, and we were never ahead until that final goal. Really stood out in my mind. I am happy to take the least points and say Browners right foot. I'll never forget the noise and the jumping and hugging and kissing and then being on the pitch and seeing so many people I knew. My happiest moment as a Rovers fan.Absolutely this. In 45 years of watching , that one moment surpasses all the others for sheer unbridled joy, the optimism around the place and the sheer emotion. A good friend of mine had died a month or so before aged just 42 and the tears were flowing when I was hugging his brother and dad during on pitch celebrations. I never thought the second of May could be topped, but that did for me. If I ever get to be so deliriously happy at a football match again, I will count myself very lucky. Seeing the joy on my sons face when Rickie made himself a hero forever and left Basso on his knees was great and at least my son (now 22 years old) did get to see us beat them , I seriously not sure if I will ever see it again, I hope he does. For an obscure one, the 88/89 play off season, away to Huddersfield midweek and we came back from 2 down to win 3-2 . I started going to games at the tail end of 73/74 promotion season so didn't really get to appreciate it and this would have been our first promotion since and on the wat home from Huddersfield I really started to believe we would go up. Of course Robbie Earle broke our hearts in the play offs, but without that, we wouldn't have had the second of May

Does it really matter? I think TG has done an amazing job so far and things on the commercial side are highly professional now. An improvement on the Barry Bradshaw days!! Give over. I won't list all of his mistakes again as I've done it too often already. All I think needs saying is Mintbet, that tells you all you need to know. Rather than play ping-pong with this, don't bother replying that things are better now, my issue is that they should be as good as possible, clearly they aren't. Here's a pic taken last Saturday at exactly 3pm. This is his wonderful ticketing system in action. It's a mess and means that supporters miss the start of games week after week.
Come on Bamber, you make some valid points, but that queue would take less than 5 minutes to get through at most. I will be at Celtic v Lazio next week, Celtic have one of those , what seem to be 'must have' proper automated systems in place and I can pretty much guarantee that the queue will be at least 3 times the size of that at kick off and for the most part , it will people who have thought 'I'll just have one more pint'.

I think the fact that they were prepared to allow people to pay for a coach ticket to go to Cheltenham and 'pick their seats' when they knew the deal was off, was utterly despicable and I find it very hard to forgive the owners at the time for that. As far as I can recall there wasn't even an apology?

Remember that this was after a 3-3 draw in our unbeaten month, our manager is a likely nominee for Manager of the month (Lambert the likely winner), the subject of the thread looks a little premature now dunnitIt always was. And to disagree with some of GCs tactics is one thing, to dredge the bottom with personal abuse is another. Sometimes it’s not about what you do but how you do it and that was, imo, unacceptable abuse. I hope I’m in a majority on here but I wouldn’t be sure. Perhaps shoveller puts it better above and I need to realise that it’s just a forum, but when someone opens a thread with personal abuse.... oh well. UTG! I think you are in a majority on this particular forum. However, most social media platforms seem to be all a bout a headline and personal abuse,it has become the accepted norm and I don't like it (Insert snowflake insult here)

I really can't see what the fuss is all about, it's just a kit FFS, and the club have allowed a few fans to have some input. Someone can have my vote if they want, I went to have a look and thought all 3 were grim, but then as long was we win while we are wearing the bloody thing, I couldn't give a monkeys toss.

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49771802Interesting piece from the Brussels Broadcasting Corporation. Given the utter incompetence of the EFL... really would not be a surprise if Sky added the Championship to their Premiership product. Mind you - I've being saying that for about 25 years... Failing that - Championship could just break away from the League 1 & 2. Greed is good and all that. Either way... League 1 & 2 Clubs would be f*cked. Well done Sean Harvey. THAT would be your legacy.
You say that like you think he might care!

I hear and understand what you are saying and I cannot answer you on where we draw the line. I would hazard a guess that his ban is more to do with his profile, within the club rather than being a standard supporter. It’s not me that sets the rules but the law and public deem sexual offences, more heinous than that of others. You say imaginary child but we both know this could not have been the case & we also are not privy to whether there is history. I just think that it’s better for him to not come. People have been angered over plastic snakes but the club have been consistent in what they will and will not tolerate. It’s just my opinion that the ban is in the best interests of all concerned. Oddly enough, I had a friend request from him, on Facebook and I guess after reading this. He used a different name. I wish I could reply more coherently and with a better response but I cannot. apart from the copper/child he had 3 others the rat was talking to exchanging pictures and messages, Yes I did see that.

Can't see it happening for England. Eddie Jones demonstrated once again in the 6 Nations his unwillingness to change a gameplan trying to play the same way against Wales, just because it had worked against Ireland. Get your money on South Africa at 4/1. Unbelievably England are also at 4s while Wales are 9/1 and the highest ranked team in the world , Ireland are also 9/1!

How's that gonna happen, though? Away grounds aren't going to monitor our paedos are they? There's no need to get emotionally hysterical about this. To me, it's quite simple : I actually disagree if he's been banned from watching. I'm not condoning his behaviour, but it isn't the club's responsibility to ban fans from attending if there hasn't been misconduct directly involving the club. Ban him from employment, that's fine. Don't ban him from being just a fan. I'm sure lots will disagree, but please formulate logistical argument instead of being fixated with outrage. I will try to address your points as given. I guess his photo will be sent to all of our opponents There are a fair amount who take their kids and many would not know of him. I know it’s speculation but if you read up about paedophilic behaviour then it can escalate to horrendous proportion. I think he would be in serious danger if he was seen at a game. He can watch in ifollow. I am a much more tolerant and forgiving human being than I used to be but I think there is just way too much potential for harm here and most likely to him. I would imagine he would be savvy enough to understand that it would be better if he doesn’t go. I won’t apologise for saying that I think he should be banned. Some things are just beyond the pale and this is one. That’s it my friend. Given you ask for reasons for him not to go, can you give any reasoning why you think he should ?I'm pretty sure Jim knows he would be daft to show up at Rovers again, so I think the ban is superfluous. If we are going to start banning people for crimes, where are we going to draw the line and what period of time do we put on it. I knew of a Rovers fan who robbed and beat the crap out of an elderly woman a few years back, a despicable, cowardly crime which I would argue is worse than trying to meet an imaginary child - and just in case someone does try ant take what I typed there out of context, of course I am not defending in any way what Jim Staynings did. Do we ban drink drivers who have hurt someone but not those who didn't?

Personally I can't see coughlan remaining in charge for much longer. All it might take is a string of bad results for the board to act regardless of league position. Off the pitch we seem to be doing ok with Mickey mouse awards etc. But on the pitch we are all at sea like the nickname suggests. All the backroom appointments I assume were based on previous income from match days. Those previous incomes no longer exist. Can't see a coughlan team playing fantasy football any time soon to get us out of this mess. Totally disagree. If you think about a new manager scenario, think back exactly 12 months and you have all the information you need to know. GC on pitch is accumulating more points at this stage in season and has a near 100% positive recruitment (any of his signings not contributed anything?), so your o p is frankly, ridiculous. So, for what reason would he be sacked? I really don't get the anti GC stuff. I liked DC and I was one of the few saying he shouldn't be sacked, but on reflection, we were only heading one way under him . GC got us to safety comfortably, and is looking like keeping us mid table this season , despite the ridiculous 'we're doomed' posts after every defeat . I also like him as a bloke, he comes across as pretty straight talking and sensible.

Conveniently forgetting that Higgs bet the stadium by charging it to a Bridging Finance company on horrendous rates in pursuit of a watertight contract...... Not saying that the current owners aren't making a pigs ear of it but there does seem to be some glossing over of Higgs and co.... Have said on here many times why I think the MSP loan was taken. You've conveniently 'forgotten' the million + quid per year of his own money that Higgs put in to cover losses, without securing it against the stadium. No, I'm not a Higgs fan, the exact opposite. He lost all respect from me the moment he banned someone from the ground rather than just picking up a phone, or booking a table for 2 and having a talk, like grown ups do.I struggle to get past that as well. Rightly or wrongly , that makes me think he is a certain type of 'man' and it's a sort I don't like.
