Bambi, you can pick apart Vertigos posts all you like, but his main points are blindingly obvious and you know it. 1. It is unfair just to pick on rich footballers when there are other people just as wealthy about. 2. The government has put in place a scheme to help companies through the current crisis and why shouldn't Rovers, being a company who are undoubtedly in a bit of a pickle, take advantage of that scheme. Both those broadish points are something that anyone- even you- should be able to , broadly, agree or disagree with. Blimey Rex now you’re starting to use common sense. Not sure some are ready for that. Btw I don’t know why I’m agreeing with you when you tried to get me kicked off this forum! 😉 (Should have been in Taunton today v Warwickshire) Hope you’re staying safe! UTG! I don't think you should be kicked off, just banned from posting during the cricket season As it appears there won't be a cricket season this year, you may be getting a reprieve

Your right, western European countries are predominantly white, not exclusively. Care to defend the racist elements of EU policy? Go on, give it your best shot.Remember Shoves, these facts don't care about your emotions. If you tell me what they are, I'll give it a go.

Not really, it's the same forces that mean that large companies don't actually pay tax. In UK terms, if corporation tax is increased you know as well as I do that's recovered elsewhere, either in real terms wage reduction, 'efficiency' savings, price increases etc. This is how the free market operates. But the good news is there's an alternative, you can always move away from a society that places you in wealth terms probably the top 1 tenth of a % of the top 1 per-cent of all of the people who have ever lived on earth, and set up home in Laos or Cuba, you'll get some proper 'wealth redistribution' there. Let us know how that plays out for you. That's a bit childish, and does nothing to address the very real issues of a badly skewed income distribution curve and the chronic underfunding of our public services.Luckily that's all been sorted now by the nation clapping once a week.

If we could stretch that 10 years to 30ish, I'll have Twin Peaks. Came back in the last 10 yrs so counts Did it? Bloody hell I missed that then! I really struggle with modern television, maybe it's because of the ridiculous amount of channels and the concept of binge watching. I loved Twin Peaks and having to wait a week till the next episode seemed to make it all the more interesting.

Okay, I'm confused. I did see an earlier reference to 'garage mechanic from Clevedon' earlier, but have no idea who that is. The use of initials we all- including me- seem to use on here, often flummoxes me and this time for the life of me, I cannot figure out who 'GI' is! Can we have some kind of cast list pinned to the top of the forum please GI is Gasincider. The one who spills most ITK which he gets from the clique which includes KM. His “garage mechanic from Clevedon” was an attempt at a disparaging remark to me and my one of my occupations. I guess his assumption is that mechanics (not that we are just mechanics these days) are usually thick, covered in oil and not worthy of any other form of intelligence, such the financial numbers behind a business and seeing through the lies and misrepresentative statements of some. I guess that shows his own limited intelligence and ignorance. Ah right, this is stuff on the 'other place' then, hence my confusion.

Priceless. So we have someone moaning his head off that wealthy people should be hit in the pocket due to this crisis, then in the next breath he's saying that our multi-millionaire owners should be allowed to dip into public funds to support the club that he supports. The really funny thing is that he probably won't even see, or accept, just how absurd his position is. Its very very unpleasant being on this forum with someone as rude and patronising as you. Every time you post to almost everyone you reply to involves attempting to put down or ridicule that person in the most offensive way you can think of. Even stooping so low as to laugh at a posters grammar or spelling. Whats the point? Why not just put your viewpoint across without all all the other stuff? I don't know Bambi at all, but I think it's just his style and I'm sure he wouldn't mean you to take it personally. Quite often his posts do seem to be condescending, but they often are just him forcing home his points. Well, it's either that or he's a bit of a twat sometimes

Thanks AMPG. The writer makes a good case to paint the former director as some sort of saint. However he wasn't party to a conversation that I had with the said former director when he had lost election number two. The significance of which has really only really dawned on me in the last 24 hours although I will never forget it because of what he said to me. If it was appropriate for me to do so I would go into a witness box in a court of law to recount it, because I have never forgotten those fleeting moments. It all makes sense now and in essence it was all about his desire to have a "position" or rather that he "must have a position". We have had a poster telling us that Mr Masters was some sort of a shrinking violet and this was why he was not able to communicate with the supporters, then we have Gasincider presenting him as some sort of superman. The work that he did for the Community department is to be commended, but no money making private enterprise does something like that for no return. I would venture to suggest that the kudos and payback may well have been, "look what we've done at Bristol Rovers" and we can do it for you. The company is not a charity is it? I am very sorry, but we are told that Mr Masters achieved all this for the Community Trust, and that is splendid, but really the evidence is very clear for his motivation. He stood for the first election as someone who wasn't even a member of the Share Scheme, perhaps the right thing when he was eventually elected would have been to make a donation to the Scheme which he was elected to represent. As I have said previously I listened to his interview with Geoff Twentyman, I am left now with an image of someone who should have simply gone quietly. Once again the Supporters Club should really reflect on how they managed to get sucked into this situation, there appears to be no-way back for them. Finally I am still waiting to learn exactly how many members the Presidents Club represent....... Regards John Malyckyj Still waiting for the revolution and young gasheads to come forward like Cheshire gas suggests to create a new better BrscI think the first two words of this sums it up. Why would you sit there waiting, why not try and engage? I have asked 3 time now I think for you to 'sell' the SC to me, it is obviously an organisation that is close to your heart, so why not try and push it's benefits? FWIW when I first joined the SC, which would have been in the 70s, the reason I joined was for coach travel to away games, there were pretty much no other benefits, but that didn't worry me, as long as I could now get on that coach, I was happy. That would be over 40 years ago and as far as I can tell that is still about the only benefit (and I wouldn't want to travel on the SC coach now anyway) , the ticket priority given is pretty meaningless now because I would imagine most potential members would be STH anyway. I had not heard of Caz May until I read this thread, but from what I have read, she seems just the sort of person the club should be trying to get on board. Twitter, Instagram etc really mean nothing to me (nor I suspect many others my age) but it IS how a lot of people interact these days, so surely the SC- if it wants to continue it's existence- should be reaching out to people who are savvy with this kind of communication rather than sitting back complaining that no one is coming forward.

Have some posts just been removed? Not that I'm aware of. I can check in the audit trail if you think it's a major issue though. Well I may have hit the sauce a bit earlier than normal during this glorious weather, but I thought I had replied to one of Harrys post saying younfg people weren't interested in football clubs, but both his post and my reply seem to have gone. It isn't a major issue though .

Only Connect and Richard Osman's House of Games Blimey Rex, Only Connect usually makes me feel a bit meh! though I often get some of the wall connections at the end! Ok my favourite TV show was Midsomer Murders or Foyles War, ill go for the latter. (Presumably the televised Conference League Play Off final in 2015, Rovers v Grimsby or the Royal London Cup Final in 2019 Somerset v Hampshire don’t count? 😉) UTG! Somerset? Somerset!! Admins, this member need to be removed ASAP!

On the whole professional English football grounds is a dead scene now. Apart from a few outliers, on the whole the 90 league grounds we have are utterly boring. The standardisation of football is dripping through all levels. If you want interesting grounds, head to Scotland. What are the Dundee grounds like Chewie? I have a friend up there I'm thinking of visiting hopefully once all this is over. I have to do Dundee soon. I have done Tannadice with Celtic and the following season headed off to Dens Park on my birthday. I stayed over in Preston estimating I would then only have a 4 hour drive. Weather was grim and there were floods everywhere in the lowlands with diversions in place, but I was in touch with my mate up there and the game was on. After seven hours of driving rather than the expected four ,I was about 30 miles short of our destination it seemed incredible that the game would still be on, but I checked with my mate and online and it was. With kick off rapidly approaching, as I drove past Dundee airport I had the phone call saying it was off. Definitely in my top ten of most annoying postponements ever!

Absolutely, although the new grounds in Scotland are even worse than the new ones in England. Livingston, Clyde, Hamilton and particularly Dumbarton are woeful, the latter is even more annoying because of the wonderful setting it is in. However places like Albion Rovers, Ayr United Forfar and Greenock Morton are among my favourite grounds anywhere. Even Cowdenbeath, which is undeniably a mess of a place has a certain charm.

I was at the Lincoln game and even amongst all the euphoria of that wonderful night, I remember thinking it was all a bit cringey.
I suppose it comes down to different personalities and what they deem to be acceptable or appropriate behaviour. The last two American presidents couldn't be any more different in how they carry themselves, yet many will have differing opinions on them.
