Awfully polite of you, my dear a_more. So, Epps, what did you find? There are many Emperor’s in the universe - but only one Emperor Superb 😁 It’s pretty straightforward, here you are - Personality, you get from first birth into your family, funny, extroverted, energetic, optimistic, confident—as well as overly serious, lazy, negative, and shy as some traits. Character you get from your second birth, into your tribe. traits like honesty, virtue, and kindliness. That treating others in the right way is important. sympathy, loyalty, reciprocity, bravery, respect, fairness, all come from tribe membership. Tribe you could try to read across as religion, nationalism or society, or the second birth honouring some form of rights of passage, perhaps earn’t in some way by displaying resilience and wisdom. Wisdom doesn’t burst forth fully developed like Athena out of Zeus’s head; it is built up, small step by small step, from most irrational beginnings. The second birth used to be recognised by a Dithyrambic ceremony, before we forgot such things so regarded all Emperor Superb’s solid anthropology as drivel or psycho babble and pseud. Raised here on basis employers, such as football clubs, should employ on basis of character, not personality. Alas, we appear to live in an age of reality TV and Social Media, where personality matters more - Donald Trump is a President and Barton deemed a fit leader of a football club. Is this on character, or personality? The observation posted here by forum members, Rovers owner seems to enjoy association with personalities and celebs, very telling observation. Has it been you posting that Duke? The second birth/right of passage is important. Your tribe should have built your character so you are wiser, more resilient. Without this you can be lost. And the Devil will find you. Drift into being a drug dealer or too easily recruited by ISIS. Or just as telling, those reality TV personalities who go to Royal Ascot and get their tits out or pour larger onto people below off balconies and then moon. Older but lacking strong character traits, still children the lot of them. Emporor,I can see why you are a Garner supporter. You write how he coached football. Past pass, pass, don't attack, don't defend, don't create, just pass pass, pass. It suits you sir.

Ah, so it's the latin 'superbus', not as I'd always read it 'super bus' (on which the wheels go round and round). I did think it an odd name

I actually thought this was a poster from the old, club forum. A guy called Richard, who talked of getting on promotion buses etc, a lot lol

Nah, it's a bus spotter, with an anorak, a rancid notebook and dodgy camera.
When I had the misfortune of living in Manchester, there was a very odd group who used to stand in the old Piccadilly Gardens and take photos of bus plates.
Deeply f**king suspicious as Billy Connolly would say.

To recruit on basis of character not personality fits well under this thread header, does it not Baz?

I did think it an odd name As I am one of only handful of posters to use an actual picture of myself, you all should have done better from the start. Anyway, let’s not start a cult of personality here.

My understanding is that the 'cult of personality' bus arrived on February 22nd. What a fun ride it has been since then. Not.

In my world that was last year but, in reality, more like 10 years ago. I do remember it making press though.

In Taiwan I have my very own 'Alien Resident certificate' (ARC) that allows me to live in peace amongst the local's.

Scoring more goals than the opposition is ten tenths of a good result. Inevitably this involves "strong performances". Also, often, leaders of men have a personality. JB has earnt a shot at the Rovers job through his football career.

I didn't know. Seems to be par for the course with me these days On the subject of ufo's, I saw one once. Many years ago - propbably 30 or more - but the shape and speed were like nothing I could logically find an explanation for. Not convinced we've ever been visited by beings from another world, but it's possible I guess. And for the pedants, I know the apostrophe is wrong, but the word looks odd without it.

(or, as this is a football forum: "Pedant fan in peace here! - UTG!") Spell it in uppercase and you'll be fine: UFOs (or U.F.O.s if someone was tempted to out-pedant me). An acronym rather than a word.

You was right. It's all about the 'was', Dido. Football speak round here. "Was you watching the game?" ... "They was good today, weren'tum." ... All goes back to "The boy done good." It's all over Football Focus, MoTD ... even The One Show nowadays.
