Is 7th June at Sheffield Crown Court, according to a posting on here
Are these things running on schedule in our still-quite-lockeddown world, and are proceedings visible on t'interweb?

I have just won a case that was a 2 day trial down here on a date that was set in February, so it appears its running to schedule although with a scaled back amount of court staff. I dont think there is video link available on any court case in the UK but there is nothing stopping you watching from the witness gallery at court should there be adequate social distancing in place and if you fancy a trip to Sheffield.

I'm guessing that, given his profile, there will be both local and national press coverage
But the club will probably maintain the omerta until the verdict, due to it being sub judice?

I understand that the EFL have already come to a verdict. They cannot comment due to the Crown Court case. Is it possible for the Crown Court to find him 'not guilty' and the EFL find him 'guilty'? If the Crown Court finds him guilty, I guess it doesn't really matter what the EFL find.
Any lawyers out there? June 7th is a massively pivotal point in the history of Bristol Rovers FC. Just ask Bristol Live or the BBC. Ssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

He could be not guilty of assault in court but guilty of an FA charge of something or other. It's probably more the level of punishment by the FA that will be affected by the court verdict I would have thought (assuming the FA find him guilty of course)

Nope - as reported by Pop Harris's Eyebrows after listening to a BBC interview. Is that credible enough for you? Or do you class that as "claptrap"? gasheads.org/thread/8971/almondsbury-training-centre?page=17&scrollTo=228538 April 24th. PHE: "I have no idea what the punishment would be Basel but the EFL have already looked at the evidence. The only thing preventing them giving their verdict is the fact that there is a legal case pending. The EFL CEO made that clear in his BBC interview last year."

Can't find any interview with Trevor Birch that references Barton. Ditto to his predecessor David Baldwin who left as CEO for "personal reasons".
Claptrap. If Kevin finds it, I'll apologise to him personally.

Good work by the EFL then if they've seen all the witness evidence the CPS have had access to view! It would be typical Rovers if Barton was found not guilty so could carry on as our manager but then got a 6 months or more ban by the FA! Let's hope if the club have taken legal advice on the potential outcome it's not from the same chambers as used for the Sainsbury's case!c

Absolutely nothing in that interview that says the EFL have made a decision. I have never said that they had but you can draw your own conclusions to the tone and content.

There is a possibility that Our Joey could get a non custodial sentence if found guilty and still face an FA ban. Wasn't his last FA ban for 18 months?
