Well my first wish would be for more to see through him, and ignore him, so we never hear anything from him again. My second wish would be for him to be associated with another organisation, reducing the association with his failed stint managing BRFC. Then again, who knows what legal proceedings may still follow him being sued by others, and prosecuted for beating up his wife.
Edit: I didn't write (allegedly); somebody edited that without owning up to the edit. Barton remains charged with beating up his wife, and a recent review found this case should not have been paused. He either was or is being prosecuted for beating up his wife, not for allegations.
Edit: allegations are what Jeremy Vine sued him for, to be fair! But they're not what the criminal proescution's for, that's for yet more violence.

To get so angry is never a good thing. Fact is we know only what the, highly biased media, tells us. Calm yourself. As for inciting for someone to get beaten up, words fail me. Welcome to Bristol Rovers toxic fans club No it’s what Waitrose said , they investigated the incident & found there driver had done nothing wrong , whilst vine called for him to be sacked , And yet you all lord him as some kind of hero , he’s scum , trying to get someone sacked for just doing there job Vine didn’t even have the decency to apologise to the driver who had been suspended whilst Waitrose did there investigation of the incident I’ll take Barton every day over vine , piece crap Lucky you are not in a position to make tsar decision. Fact is vine has been given punitive damages. That says it all. Your hero is about to have a flood of #metoo claims. Hope he has a pawn broker closely POS

This thread typifies todays society , get offended about everything , it’s fair enough if you don’t like Barton , but to go on some moral crusade is embarrassing If you don’t like what someone says give them a mouthful back , and it’s even more embarrassing watching all the happy clapping / high giving over vine suing 🙄🙄🙄going on . As for the women commentator, I agree with Barton , these women haven't got a bloody clue , it’s pitiful listening to them , I don’t now , switch it straight off these days . I hate to think what stupid idea there going to come up with next in the name of diversity, inclusion & god knows what else Thank god for Barton who does it old school , says it as it is . Dinosaurs were extinct millions of years ago and there you go again, give them a mouthful back. There is no need for confrontation, in an intelligent adult

Definitely not educated. Well, apart from the 1st in Law from Brunel, some further legal training, consultancy experience at Slaughter and May and a few other bits with top drawer legal firms So probably not bright either And at age 37, with executive experience in sport in the UK and US, and an MBE, she’s probably not very mature either. Certainly not by the standards of debate on this forum And some are happy to enthrall in the rather unappealing Rio Ferdinand....🙄..but it's ok because he played for muffdiversFC and Engerland Doesn’t call people peadophile though eh. Bit of a difference

People agree with him? Probably the same way people agree with Farage or Boris or Trump. Saying more about those who make agreement comments than the original post. We all ought to try and keep politics out of our FC,imo. You cannot. Politics is life and vice versa. Same as it ever was

J o s e p h continues to make good points. It might do his cause good if eg, ,he did'nt say somebody 'talks s**t' and they 'must be bumming someone at the BBC to of got the job',but rather said eg,'I could'nt disagree more' or 'I would like to hear just why this person got the job at the BBC'.Etc. As said J o s e p h makes good points and thousands of football fans agree with him. Thousands. Take a look at a 'shock horror' B arton reports on social media, where the tone of his voice and his manner has upset some people. His actual point can get mislaid in the melee of right on sensibilities crumbling, but check the comments section.90% upwards agree with our excellent former Managers point. J o s e p h is entitled to his point of view, all he needs to work on is his delivery. Bas, don’t be silly. You are correct, he may have thousands agreeing with him but that really isn’t the point. Adolf Hitler gained 13m/14m votes in 1932 to come to power, just under 40% of the total. He was never right on any level, about anything, at any time, however many people voted for him. And with regards to JB, that thousands of fans agree with JB is even more worrying, though not surprising. What you’re saying is there are thousands of angry men, misogynists, racists who would employ violence to make their point. I’ve never doubted it. Unfortunately we seem to have one or two here as well. And yes, JB is ‘entitled to his point of view’ but he has no right to make it in any way that is against the law. As he found out over the past week or so and as he will no doubt also learn in the weeks ahead. And why anyone feels the need to belittle 50% of the population just because they also like the largest spectator sport in this country and are endeavouring to make a career out of it is stupid in this day and age. Diversity and equality are here and I’d say the country is better and stronger for it. I like meritocracies but not ‘old boys’ clubs’. UTG!

There is nothing wrong in having an opinion and offering constructive criticism on any subject but don't launch into using words like nonce, paedophile and link Fred and Rosey West to your your views or accuse someones father for being corrupt because he was a senator in Nigeria and lives on the Wentworth estate to endorse your beliefs. How he was ever appointed a football manager is beyond me and how one of his appointments at the club, suspect murder trialist Chris Spendlove is still employed with a grand job description is also a mystery,if it were your own business on taking it over you'd want to fumigate it from top to bottom and make it a Huyton free exclusion zone.

Diversity and equality are here and I’d say the country is better and stronger for it. I like meritocracies but not ‘old boys’ clubs’. UTG! Hmm,I disagree with most of that Wareham. Hitler and JB! Come on,that's ridiculous. JB comments on plenty of things and i think he thinks women should comment on womens football, not mens.He is no fan of todays box ticking exercises and positive discrimination.I'm no fan either. Personally I think that's fair enough to have that opinion ( women in womens game and men in mens ),but I don't necessarily agree with it/JB. I've posted JB should work on his delivery, try to be polite. His point of view can get lost by his rudeness "Diversity and equality " happen the moment someone who fits that section of society breaths in England. Let there be no queue jumping, box ticking and lowering of standards, otherwise we've replaced one "old boys clubs" with a new 'old boys club'. From one unfairness to another. Meritocracy should not mean someone gets a job because of their sex, skin colour, nepotism etc etc.A job goes to the best candidate. It's fair and high standards are hopefully maintained or bettered.Full stop.

You are stating that Barton has beaten his wife up. That is not fact. It is an allegation. To state he has beaten his wife could be seen as slanderous. As a conduit for the slander, we could be liable. JeffNZ. Can you cast your eye on this one? Example. This is how Sky reorted it. news.sky.com/story/joey-barton-faces-new-assault-trial-after-being-accused-of-leaving-wife-with-golf-ball-sized-bruise-13149320"Joey Barton faces new assault trial after being accused of leaving wife with 'golf ball-sized bruise'. The former footballer denied an allegation he assaulted his wife outside their home in Kew, southwest London, back in June 2021. Joey Barton faces a new trial over an allegation of assaulting his wife. File Pic: PA Joey Barton faces a new criminal trial over an allegation he assaulted his wife during a row outside their home back in June 2021. High Court judges ruled on Friday that proceedings against the 41-year-old - which had previously been paused - should go ahead. The former Manchester City footballer was accused of assaulting his wife, Georgia Barton, in a drunken row - which he denied - and was due to face trial at a magistrates' court in 2022. He had been accused of grabbing his wife by the throat and kicking her in the head during an argument outside their home in Kew, southwest London, in June 2021. Mrs Barton was said to have been left with a golf ball-sized bruise on her forehead and a bleeding nose after the alleged attack. However, the case was adjourned after Mrs Barton sent a letter to prosecutors retracting her allegations. At the time of the alleged attack, Mr Barton denied a charge of assault by beating after he was arrested by police at his home. In a judgment on Friday, two senior judges ruled in the DPP's favour and said Mr Barton should face a trial over the allegations in front of a different judge." Note the word "allegation".

"Toxic turd Barton is unfit to manage Bristol Rovers.""It was miraculous. It was almost no trick at all, he saw, to turn vice into virtue and slander into truth, impotence into abstinence, arrogance into humility, plunder into philanthropy, thievery into honour, blasphemy into wisdom, brutality into patriotism, and sadism into justice. Anybody could do it; it required no brains at all. It merely required no character.” (Joseph Heller, Catch-22) #UpTheROVERS

Watching these European Championships has given plenty of cause to consider AMPG and my discourse, regarding Eni Aluko.
I still think she's a rubbish broadcaster who presents as unintelligent and uneducated, but some of the chaps I've heard on BBC and ITV have kindly proven that she's not only not alone in that, but also not the worse on offer, and as I said, they don't get half the grief.

Westminster Magistrates Court, grown up boys court for our hero this time. Bags more adverse publicity with Rovers association attached to the trial coming the way of the club. Unless the club have settled with him he is still be being paid up until end of January 2025.
