It's quite ironic because I imagine at least some of those using GC as a truncheon to whack JB with, moaned like buggery when GC was Rovers manager. Yeah, Absolutely hated being in the top six playoff places. Much rather we hardly scored, finished 17th and pi's*ed away £3M doing it.

Thank heavens we have the psuedo intellectuals to educate us! Strange, isn't it. Using vocabulary within the scope of a language called "English" is deemed "pseudo intellectual" I thought we all used the same language. Perhaps I am wrong Strange isn't it, that when Mr Barton uses vocabulary within the scope of a language called "English", some people deem him to be a "pseudo intellectual". I thought we all used the same language. I'm not wrong that our manager has been mocked for this.

What % did the attendances increase when we were being treated to Coughlan ball? I'm not sure whether they did Bath, which of course is the point of your question. However it reminds me of the fans at Stoke with Pulis when he got them into the top league and then complained about the football they played. And with the fans at West Ham when Allardyce got them to their highest point for years and then they wanted rid because he didn't play the 'West Ham way' Both teams fell after those managers left. Are you saying that you would rather take Barton's football and 17th rather than Coughlan's football and 3rd? I go to matches to be entertained by good football - it hasn't worked all the time under Barton, but certainly a much more enjoyable time to watch Rovers for me. I remember often being bored rather than enthused when watching GC's team. I actually thought that GC seemed a decent person, and felt sorry for him because it was obviousthat he was not viewed as a long term prospect by those in charge. I don't blame him for heading off when Mansfield came calling, and would like to see him do well at Newport.

I know a lot of us really like reading new or unfamiliar words on here. If we need to look something up in a dictionary, then that is time well spent. Please don't stop. I wonder why those offended by this thread spend so much time on it. There's plenty else to read elsewhere. www.google.com/search?q=unconscionable

Please keep the nonsense coming! You could, with some validity, argue that the opposite is true. That some demand a higher standard and are not content with the use of propaganda as an opiate for the masses. Just a thought.

And now he has a three game stadium ban. Won't be able to the stand he created full first week. Joey Barton: Bristol Rovers manager banned for first three games next season..ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/0677/production/_129755610_shutterstock_editorial_13876175du.jpgBristol Rovers manager Joey Barton has been given a three-match ground ban for misconduct during the team's defeat by Sheffield Wednesday. Barton was shown a red card following the 2-1 loss on 18 April. He admitted that he used abusive, insulting and improper words to a match official in the tunnel and officials' changing room after the game. The 40-year-old will miss the first three games of Rovers' 2023-24 campaign and has also been fined £3,000. BBC Radio Bristol understand that Bristol Rovers will be appealing the decision. Barton was critical of the referees in the aftermath of the match, particularly after John Marquis had a goal ruled out for being offside. "You rely on the officials to get major decisions right and unfortunately tonight the linesman's had a guess as they do at this level," he told BBC Radio Bristol. "I was always worried when I seen the referee, every time I get him he does something barmy, that ref, not really putting that on his toes. His official, the linesman, has got one job to do. It's disappointing when they guess, sometimes it goes your way, sometimes it doesn't."

Is there a clause in his contract about bringing the club into disrepute?

Surely we can appeal this. Ask for a longer ban?

Probably not knowing how we do things as a club, you do wonder if life would be far easier for Wael if he just had DC back as manager.
