Just want a Rovers all Gasheads want to return to, really. Not gonna happen, never has, never will.
I recall someone not attending at Eastville as they thought Don Megson was too defensive
A couple who refused point blank to go to Twerton, on principle
Recall someone boycotting because they didnt like how GD was running things
and some not going under Graydon as we were just crap.
The list is endless, we probaly all know some

I stood through every minute in the Graydon 'era', enjoying about three of them. Ah, the Grayson years. I used to stand on the Blackthorn and every five minutes I’d work out how many seconds until the final whistle. In between calculations I’d wonder what the hell I was doing with my life.

I think its realy sad that after a brilliant match saturday some people still wanto to concentrate on 'other things' It really was an exceptional game saturday (sorry Dr F!). If we'd managed to get the deserved winner at the end it would have gone down as one of THE games of the last decade. These periods are rare, history tells us that, and we have a special group and people really should enjoy it whilst they can. Forget JB's past, enjoy the good times that are here Forget 'what ifs' regarding ownerships and enjoy the fact we are financially stable with a committed owner who is here for the long haul and making good progress off the field. And most importantly get down the Mem if you can and cheer on the boys, they are running through brick walls for the shirt and these really are good times and its turning the Mem into a special place. Enjoy these times, they dont come round very often.

Given what happened to Chester under the Vaughan’s watch I’m pretty sure Wael has done his homework there. But this is like the equivalent of Farage’s infamous ‘Turning Point’ poster during the Brexit referendum, completely unnecessary scaremongering and totally irrelevant to the reality of the club’s current situation. In January 2021 if someone had posted that JB would soon be appointed Rovers manager and virtually take over the club and that most Gasheads would be enraptured by this they would have been accused of unnecessary scaremongering wouldn't they ? Yet here we are in 2022 and it has all happened. The reason I think this is relevant to the club's current situation goes back to bloogas's post yesterday. His immediate response to my question about whether Gasheads would be happy for Rovers to accept funding from dubious sources was to quote an analogy about not being concerned about a surgeon having a criminal record if he could save your life. Which seems to be implying that if Rovers are desperate for investment nobody will care who makes it or where it comes from. But as far as we know Rovers are not desperate for investment so if new money and new people were to come into the club it wouldn't be to "save it" but to help take it forward. In which case there should be no hint of desperation and the process would surely Just to be clear - I'm a bit slow on the uptake I'm afraid. I thought we were still on JB being unfit to manage Rovers. After Saturday he clearly is. His personal life is another matter. But it is what it is. As to matters of high finance, I have enough problems personally to worry too much about who owns Bristol Rovers or invests in them. Not something I have any control or influence over.

The sanctimonious and patronising excuses, for continuing the hatchet job on Bristol Rovers manager reached disgraceful along time ago. The forum has become a miserable place and it's demise has been supported by our admin team of John Bercows. Not a Joe Barton supporter amongst them. The repitition of anti JB sentiment is ridiculous too. The FC looks the best it has since Gerry took Rovers to the 2nd tier, but some choose to continue their character assassination of JB.A man doing a fantastic job for our Rovers! For a major moan or critique, why not turn attention to WAQs failiure to even get a new stadium project off the ground.Afterall ,he's 'only' been here 7 years. He has delivered a fantastic manager, but I think, due to his failiure to deliver a new stadium, JB will outgrow Rovers.

I'm reminded of that bloke that stands around 10 Downing Street or Parliament, shouting "no to Brexit" and now 'rejoin the EU' (I assume). He's been at for years.Sounds like a mental parrot.

Would you care to explain what you mean by that Bas? Are people not allowed to have their own opinion in our so called free society then? If you want to support Barton you can. If others don't want to then they can say so. It's called free speech.

One day they will come for you Bas and there will be no one to shout for you as we will all be locked up by the sounds of it if you have your way.....

He has delivered a fantastic manager, but I think, due to his failiure to deliver a new stadium, JB will outgrow Rovers. What a silly post on a forum. Not a fan of free speech and the means to express an opinion then bas? I presume that your comment about “turn attention to WAQ’s failure to get a new stadium...” was an attempt at irony. Plenty of that discussion on both forums. And bas, your criticism of the admin team is embarrassing. If it weren’t for them it looks like you’d have plenty of free time on your hands given how long you spend on here and what you post elsewhere. Most accept your opinions on JB and many other things, and are happy to engage with you about them but to call the mods names and accuse them for doing their jobs is just ridiculous. You’d miss them if they (and this forum consequently) weren’t here. Yes, I like what JB is doing in the football side, not sure that BRFC is the best since 1990. You see solid foundations perhaps, I see more a sword of Damocles hanging over us. Little I can do except enjoy the ride which was fantastic on Saturday. And let’s be perfectly honest bas, no-one needs to do a “character assassination” on JB, he’s done a perfectly good job himself over the years. But it’s good to see him concentrating on football because that is where he appears very capable of putting a good side together, setting them up well tactically and getting them to run through brick walls for him. And I hope his relationship with Wael is such that he feels at home with us and is turning over a new chapter. Hope springs eternal! I’d say an apology to the admin team and mods was due for that comment but I won’t hold my breath. 🤔 UTG!

A couple of weeks ago my neice took her grandad to UWE for his Covid jab. He's 94 and very vulnerable. When they got there it was closed because of protesters. I'm sure you'll agree that free speech is one thing, stopping the rest of society going about its lawful business is quite another. The bawling buffoon Bas refers to stops me from hearing informed comment from politicians and journalists with rather more insight than said buffoon. But hey, if mob rule is your thing...

Okay Basil, today is now day one of me not writing anything negative about Joey Barton on a Gas Guzzler thread clearly titled 'Joey Barton is unfit to manage Bristol Rovers'.
