You answer my question then I’ll answer yours Doc. OK. It would be an odd decision to take his money. But would you embrace and support such a decision if it were to be made ?

I mean the morality stuff has been done to death, I don’t think it will change a thing for those currently attending.

Thanks Doc, it's an honest answer and one which I expected. Dentistry is only a hobby for me so I don't take it that seriously and never waste money on things like anaesthetic ! I agree with chewbacca's post that the majority will keep attending and supporting the team, the manager and the beneficial owner no matter who they are. But by now you know by heart the point I'm going to make . . . . nothing will change at Rovers so long as Gasheads unquestionably accept whatever they are told. The next few months will be interesting and I'm wondering whether, when the dust has settled, we will again be told "there was no alternative" when in fact there are plenty of alternatives which would be better for Rovers but not so good for the manager or owner.

Swiss, what makes you think that he would invest in Rovers?
As for being lectured about morals, (not you), it's laughable.

We’ll I thought it eighteen months ago and posted so on here. My question was whether Gasheads would freely embrace such an unconventional investor. 18 months ago? Why would anyone remember that? As for being an avid reader...not guilty Swiss, I often skim past. My question was what makes you think he would be involved or interested? Any actual reason for your belief, ir are you just s**t stirring again? Eighteen months ago when JB was first being talked about for the Rovers job I posted about the possibility of a takeover involving associates of his based in Liverpool. Since then JB has said "I'm not here to take part I'm here to take over" and his actions suggest that now he has taken over the football operation it likely won't be long before he attempts to take over the rest of the club. The obvious backers for such a deal would be associates of his who have already shown a willingness to invest in sports businesses. Edit. When I said eighteen months I meant February 2021. Time flies !

There's a debate to be had among those not slinging insults at other gasheads. If only the courtesy demanded for the manager was extended to fellow supporters. On another note, while the amorality of the Barton appointment probably has been done to death, it's not unreasonable for the few dissenting writers who remain on Gas Guzzler to respond to Barton supporters' claims (for which there is no evidence) that Barton is sorry and committed to change. His words and action indicate not.

I think it's hard and actually unfair to compare to past teams and era's. Especially Gerry Francis in late 80's, early 90's at Twerton. Back then Oxford, Luton, Wimbledon and Oldham all got to the top flight. Oxford won a League Cup, Wimbledon won an FA Cup and got top 6 finishes in the top flight at that time in grounds not much bigger than Twerton. Cambridge also came close to getting promoted to the Premier League in its inaugural season. That just doesn't happen anymore. If Joey gets us to The Championship, then he has to be right up there. The Mem now is imo worse than Twerton was then in the Football landscape as times gone on. It is difficult to compare teams from different eras but you compare them with their fellow teams from the same era. And on that basis we achieved more in the past eras than anything we’ve done since 2000. Unfashionable teams getting to the PL doesn’t happen anymore? It does, I’ve watched AFCB in the PL in 6 out of the last 8 seasons and do pretty well in it. But I agree that if JB were to get us to the Championship (and I’d say keep us there for a few seasons) then he would be “right up there.” If. UTG! Bournemouth were backed by a benefactor willing to spend plenty of cash. As are Brentford.

Not at all, just that it’s been done to death. I don’t believe anyone problematic investing in the club will change any of those attending. Pretty funny how it’s hit a nerve with some silly old sausages mind.

Why such hostility from a small group of omnipresent drinking buddies, towards certain dissenting or absent Rovers supporters? Just to get a 'like' from Faustus or Jack. Poor form, Gasheads.

Because he came across as a sanctimonious pr**k. Anyone that knows me, knows I say it as I see it. Certainly no hostility. I have seen Chewbacca around and would buy him a beer if I saw him in a pub. Well then maybe do that instead, rather than calling him a príck on an internet messageboard? Just a suggestion, but if you want this forum to be the personal fiefdom of a few pub mates, then it seems your wishes are increasingly granted.

Yes you are, because I've explained it clearly, and you've proved it. Good night.
