For another angle you could wish that Rovers win every game under Barton, therefore making him of interest for a higher club!

Some of us are supporters for life. Do you suppose we won't be back after that despicable thug is removed?

I am not a supporter of Bristol Rovers Football Club while Barton is manager, correct. Some of us are supporters for life. Nobody is a supporter for life! Would you still support the club if they dug up Fred West and put him in the dug out? We all just have different moral boundaries that we won’t cross in order to give the club our blessing and the saddest thing about this whole episode is that other fans feel that they have the right to define what others should find acceptable. Wanting Rovers to lose is obviously a hell of a statement, but even then what is the end goal of that? Wanting the club to die a death? Or wanting it to lose because they deem, in the long run, that the club will be better off? Look at the season we got relegated to the conference- would it have been better for the club if we had stayed up? Would we have got promoted to league one in two seasons? Or would we have continued to tread water, doing the bare minimum to survive? Hard to say and not something fans should wish for obviously, but the conference season is an example of how sometimes going backwards to go forwards works out right in the long run. People rarely learn when they end up with a close escape, because learning takes effort and keeping the status quo doesn’t. At the moment the club is hiring and firing managers at the the drop of a hat with no real semblance of any sort of strategy and it looks awful. If we stay up by a point this season there is a very real danger that Wael will con himself into thinking everything is tickety boo and the reasons why we were in this situation will be laid entirely at the previous managers doors and have nothing to do with the way he is running the club. One day he will have to confront his stewardship.

I can’t be alone in thinking Starnes appearance is just unacceptable, can I? It is certainly wholly unprofessional, and represents the club very poorly. Apparently COVID excuses everything. Work from home and let yourself go? I do expect better from a CEO.

From reading Holloway’s comments, Tisdale’s comments and seeing how Widdrington came across in the press both before and after his cameo appearance as manager. Widdrington has a raging ego, believes 100% in the quality of his recruitment and it seems patently clear that Tisdale did not. That is a concoction ripe for Widdrington, at the very least, to have interfered with Tisdale’s ability to do his job. So on that basis was Holloway fabricating nonsense? There is a fair likelihood of truth imo. Barton however, is the golden child and will have full autonomy. I’m fact, I expect he will be doing Widdrington’s job in due course. F****** Holloway? You lost all credibility when you mentioned that charlatans name. He’s already moved on in his nonsensical column, wishing Barton and Rovers every success. Holloway’s name appears to be quite triggering for you, so maybe that biases your outlook? I don’t like the guy and in isolation I would agree, but you can’t take Holloway in isolation, you have to be objective and look at the other available evidence and reach your own conclusions and it’s clear to me, at the very least that Tisdale and Widdrington came into conflict. Is it too much of a reach to suggest that that conflict extended to strong words about who Tisdale should be playing and a little birdie then went and told Holloway? No, not at all. That’s how football works. Some people deal with disagreements by telling the press whose fault it was, others smile and deny in public but work in the background getting word out via agents and their peers.

This modern era of Twittersphere seems to be a big issue to us as well. It seems you can be worse than rubbish at politics and football management and civil society in general yet end up in the White House as leader of free world, or as leader of Bristol Rovers leading the Gas World - on the strength of nowt but your TWITTER box office!!! Don't do twitter so assume this little barb wasn’t aimed at me. The played one. I’m not trying to hurt you, just wake you up.

It is an ineluctable fact that you don't choose the club.
The club chooses you.

It is an ineluctable fact that you don't choose the club. The club chooses you. On 22nd February 2021 the club chose to alienate a number of us by employing an unreformed violent convict awaiting trial for a further violent offence. So you're right. The club chose.

It’s like what gasandproud stated, that he had a good few meetings with board members and zoom meetings with Wael only for Wael to say no discussions from outside investors had taken place. It makes things very difficult to trust but this is how things really do happen

Healthy scepticism is usually a good starting point but when Wael is involved it needs to be boosted by steroids.

Seems the haters on here ought to be turning on the players.
How dare they respond to that unreformed thug and jail bird and put on fighting performances that actually win matches and so prolong his hated association with the club?

No, so I couldn't read it after a couple of paragraphs. I did notice it was written by Rod Liddle. Say no more.

Joey Barton beat up a fifteen year old child on holiday. He attacked a sixteen year old. He put a cigar out in someone's eye. He beat up team mates in training repeatedly. He carried on punching an unconscious man on the ground. He assaulted opppsition players after getting sent of. He boasted about this being not 'red mist' but 'calculating'. He is awaiting trial for punching a rival coach's tooth out. Who's hateful? Us? Or Barton?

Masses of huge assumption there old chap, and I suppose you do know the definition of evidence? You seem to be suggesting that Tisdale went snitching to Holloway, safe in the knowledge he would open his huge mouth all over that ridiculous EP column. Holloway, not being amongst the most intellectually gifted would swallow any anti-rovers propaganda like a hungry trout a gadfly. Add that huge supposition to the FACT he went on local radio and basically dissed the strikers at the club and it’s no wonder he was fired. It seems to me that Barton’s name is an even bigger trigger for you, is there’s any hearsay nonsense you wouldn’t trawl in your agitation to have him removed?

I think it is highly illustrative of the frenzied hatred for Barton that this ridiculous thread is now 3 times longer than the Matchday thread dealing with a vital home win. But there you go.

Well you've written on 'this ridiculous thread' ten times today, Sir. And read what I wrote about what Barton has done again and see whether it is I, or Barton, who displays frenzied hatred towards other people.

I have also commented on the match thread. The difference is the match thread doesn’t contain posts written by religious zealots who wish for the destruction of the club. They mostly appear quite pleased we won a game. How strange, don’t they realise there are pagans, devils and evil spirits to be driven out?
