I agree that we all hold differing opinions while having the same goal and, contrary to Uncle Eppers mischief making, it isn’t a contest. Isn't it? As long as we're all calling the new Guzzler administrator 'Uncle Eppers' now, I'm a very happy duck. Blatant plagiarism on my part Shoveler. It’s been a funny day though, I’m watching the Superglue game and could swear Devon White is playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Devin White was definitely playing. Tom Brady received all the plaudits. Unbelievable Jeff.

It's odd somebody based in a different country knows all about the club being offered alternative training facilities but nobody living in Bristol appears to have heard anything about them. Similarly with the playing budget on the one hand, the raises concerns we're still running up large debts, on the other wants us to have a squad bigger than the present 27(?) players even though we can only name 22 players in the squad and I'm not aware of many other L1 clubs paying their players just to sit in the stands. Sorry - I must have missed that. Where was that stated? He implied we didn't sign a striker as Weal spent the money on the training ground instead, clearly if we'd signed a striker that would have increased the squad size by another player. He just goes around in circles, no doubt if we'd signed a striker he'd be questioning why we had 1 28(?) player squad, likewise if we had rented this mystery training ground, why were we renting a ground when we already had land at Almondsbury we could develop. I see his side kick Fanatical has now started a similar thread on Gaschat, although I'd imagine he'll get short shift on that forum.

I tend to deal with what people actually state, rather than with implied interpretations. I'm pretty sure he's not demanding more money be spent (quite the opposite). More that the limited funds BRFC have access to, should be wisely spent. How many professionals do we have on the books? Answer: Too many. And we can't shift them out on loan because they are not good enough. That's down to the Board and recruitment. I actually think the spend on the Training Facility is a 'good thing'. So I disagree with him there. He largely expresses opinions based on his business experience, previous dealings with the Club, and interpretations of the balance sheet. It provokes debate. Which is healthy. "short shift" - is that akin to a zero hours contract? UTG.

It provokes debate. Which is healthy. Yes, please. Swiss and I disagree on plenty. But that's more interesting than consensus. The dialectic is vital to the education. One can't be right until one can argue. If Al Qadi ever improves BRFC, it will be because of the scrutiny, not despite it. EDIT: some of us who care to follow the detail of BRFC business do need someone who can be bothered to read documents we won't, and has the knowledge to interpret others we can't. Cheers.

Not sure you can blame the BoD for signing players that's down to whoever had ultimate control of the playing budget, which I assume at a lower league club is usually the manager. I've no issue with anybody discussing the club's finances but why does it always have to be presented in an anti Wael manner. We have to be thankful we're not facing admin as we surely would be if Higgs was still in charge during a pandemic.

We have to be thankful we're not facing admin as we surely would be if Higgs was still in charge during a pandemic. The manager has control of the playing budget!?! Sorry, there is absolutely no way a manager can spend without a sign off from the Board (and ultimately Wael would have the last say). So the blame for poor recruitment has to lie with the Board. The blame for the diabolical year on year losses has to lie with the Board. I see the criticisms as constructive. The criticisms of the Board are largely aimed at the construction of it, and the lack of any believable, sustainable business plan. I am supportive of Wael. I just think he needs help. And I agree with you that without Wael, and BRFC in the hands of local businessmen, we could be in a far worse predicament. UTG.

So a new day and looks like Dave has done a runner and has come across as just another 'hit and run' poster. Throw in a limited amount of opaque information and then say 'I am leaving it there as I can't give more detail....confidentiality.....blah, blah, blah.....' He has now disappeared so we don't even know the basics, even how the deal was presented - was it a fully blown well constructed detailed plan, excel spreadsheet, or an email requesting a meeting stating he had an incredible plan? As I have said before I am more than willing to debate with a poster but so far Dave has come across as another vague post and run merchant. He may well be genuine, but to plead on a forum for the Board to engage with him and then do a runner is hardly professional really, is it?
Very disappointing

I was rather hoping that this episode would at least shed some light on the "mysterious two people appointed to the Board - oops - no, we changed our mind" story / non-story.

Very disappointing Not so as he said his piece and told us he would post no more. He did give his reasons Not really KP he didn't answer many of the questions posed. For a prime example he didn't explain HOW he approached the Board. Whether he had a fully constructed detailed business plan i.e. whether any cost analysis/modelling had been done, whether it was an excel spreadsheet, or just an email saying that he had an incredible plan. I appreciate that you may be satisfied with the poster's rationale and accept he is as honest as the day is long, but many questions are outstanding and until the poster is prepared to engage then as far as I am concerned all I know is his name (is it genuine?), no detail about him or his fellow conspirators, and no knowledge of how the person interacted with the Board. I even approached Russgas on Gaschat who claimed to be his friend about getting 'Dave/David' to engage without detail but the request has likewise gone unanswered. Please excuse my cynicism but I honestly don't believe it has added anything to the debate other than being yet another hit and run grenade in the pond. Whether you agree with Swiss or not at least he is prepared to debate with honesty and integrity the points he wishes to put forward and counters any argument. Regards

Regards Maybe he is not prepared to get forensically scrutinised, recognised this is what would happen and maybe his proposal is at a stage where he cannot answer such questions. I took his final post as what it said and it’s a rare thing for someone to actually not post, after they say they won’t. I’m fine with it as I know WAQ is not prepared to engage with outside investors. I could add more but that would veer off topic

Dave Townsend.
If you believe that he is behind some grandiose Stadium Plan, then you probably believe that Ken Masters was going to front some new consortium.
He probably bleeds blue and white though...
He came forward, looked over the Gaschat forum precipice, felt a bit giddy and backed off.

I think David has a dream that he doesn't want to die but others have moved on. I see these people have built a link with SGS College right on our doorstep and are looking for further action. www.nlaeurope.com

There are several posters who come on, thrown in a morsel to fire people up (on which I no longer bite) and then walk away. Cynically that is my assumption with Dave/David. You seem happy for them to do that and believe them rather than WAQ. That is your choice. As WAQ says very little about any approaches and these guys seem to be mischief making I won't take sides with either. I would just like some facts but those seem in short supply these days.

I'm with kP's original post on this - he said his bit, and departed as he said he would given the welcome he was given, I don't blame him. If I thought I had anything meaningful to say, I'd avoid saying it on hereThe 'welcome' was nothing more than scrutiny as so many ITKers come on here and try to cause mischief. I thought my questions were quite tame and hardly challenging for a 'businessman'. Your last point begs the question why come on here in the first place as its not going to influence WAQ and lends more questions than whatever answers he was supposed to be providing. Regards

Dave is a genuine fella with connections and deserved a bit more respect but I also understand why people are wary. They just don't believe what we "might" be missing out on neither did I when I was told about the plans.

Regards I think that reveals a prejudice which underlies his reception here A prejudice as he was new and so not a proven ITKer or mischief maker I have no prejudice personally towards anyone new, I asked a few simple and non probing questions and he disappeared. I try to be non prejudicial or biased ion my questioning or reasoning. If anyone sees it that way then perhaps they need to question their own bias. Just a thought.
