Plastic Leipzig 1 Union Berlin 2. Union still 2nd and looking increasingly like a very unlikely Champions League football entrant next season! I think next to beating Bayern (rare), beating Plastic is the most satisfying result available. Beating Hertha has become just a training exercise. Eisern Union.

Bad day at the office for Eintracht this week losing 3-0 at Köln. Look out for Randal Kolo Muani. He came on in the first half of the World Cup Final for France and changed the way they played in that game. He's tearing up the Bundesliga at the moment. He'll be a big money mover in the summer.

I'll keep an eye out for Randal before he inevitably gets transferred to Bayern or England. Shame. I missed the start of the England / Italy rugby as I was watching Hertha / Gladbach on Skybet. I definitely wouldn't have gone out of my way to watch a mid-table permiersh1t game. A lot more to enjoy in Germany. Planning a trip to Berlin, the only really doable one is home to Bochum on April 15th. And then I'll have to travel a couple of days earlier to beg, borrow or steal a ticket as there are none on general sale...

A frustrating afternoon watching Union 0 Schalke 0 (free to watch on bet365). Schalke's fourth 0-0 draw on the trot. A very dull game. With Dortmund beating Hertha - that will leave 3 tied at the top. Spot the 'odd one out' competition: Bayern Munich Borussia Dortmund Union Berlin.

Borussia Mönchengladbach 3 Bayern Munich 2ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/98F5/production/_128675193_bayern.jpgBorussia Monchengladbach midfielder Jonas Hofmann scored their second goal against Bayern Munich and set up the other two
Bayern Munich could be overtaken by Union Berlin at the top of the Bundesliga on Sunday after the champions' losing streak against Borussia Monchengladbach continued. After Bayern defender Dayot Upamecano was sent off early on, Gladbach quickly took the lead through Lars Stindl. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting equalised before half-time, but Jonas Hofmann and Marcus Thuram put the hosts in command. Mathys Tel scored late but the 3-2 loss leaves Bayern a point clear of Union. Bayern, who are aiming for record 11th consecutive Bundesliga title, have now lost their past five matches against Gladbach. Union Berlin are the German top-flight's surprise package this season and will go above Bayern if they beat bottom club Schalke on Sunday. Borussia Dortmund, who are third, can move level with Bayern when they host second-bottom Hertha Berlin on Sunday. "We started really well in the first seven minutes and we had two, three chances and should have been 2-0 up," said Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann. "It was undoubtedly our best start of the year, but then came the red card and the goal but we still equalised. "In the second half we had the game under control and we were the better side despite being a man down. But then we conceded again and then it was difficult to come back again." Wolfsburg 1 Union 1. Watched on Bet365. A dull game of few chances. A soft pen put Union 1-0 up, an 80th minute Wolfsburg equalizer levelled it up, fair result. Meant to post this last week www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64891779Confirms the 50+1 rule and an intention to stop any rules being bent in future. Pretty sure everyone is fine with Wolfsburg and Leverkusen. The Hoffenheim owner has been given special dispensation. No mention of plastic RB Leipzig though. German football. Supporters first, money second. English football. Money first, supporters second.

As I said earlier in the thread..... "Manchester United 'are set to launch a club-record £105MILLION move to sign Frankfurt star Randal Kolo Muani' with Erik ten Hag to battle PSG as he desperately chases a new striker this summer" Eintracht Frankfurt

That's mad money. But it is manure and they always pay 30-40% over the asking price. Fingers crossed for Union B to beat Union G this evening. Because I'll be in Kopernick April 13th. Should they prevail, and are at home - no chance of a ticket, but there's a few lively bars that should be showing it... UNVEU

Scheisse. Thumped 3-0. Not a lot of depth in the squad so always a tough task to compete in the Europa League and the Bundesliga. Still in the DFK Potal - QF away to Frankfurt on April 4th. Probably doesn't help.

Union Berlin 2 Eintracht Frankfurt 0. Not seen the highlights, but both probably suffering from midweek 0-3 defeats at St Gilloise and Napoli respectively. Fun fact. The only other Eintracht (meaning 'harmony') I know of is Eintracht Braunschweig. But if you look on the map they appear as Brunswick. Although bigger cities can have different spelling (Munich, Cologne etc) bit odd to have a relatively small place with an English alternative.

Late Freiburg goal knocks Bayern Munich out of German cup..ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/16E47/production/_129276739_gettyimages-1250772190.jpgLucas Hoeler scored a 95th-minute penalty as Freiburg came from behind to knock Bayern Munich out of the German Cup in the quarter-finals. Bayern took the lead through Dayot Upamecano's header but Nicolas Hoefler equalised eight minutes later. Hoeler converted from the spot after Jamal Musiala handled in the box to book Freiburg's semi-final place. It was Thomas Tuchel's second game in charge after Bayern beat Borussia Dortmund 4-2 in the league on Saturday. The Munich club sacked boss Julian Nagelsmann after they dropped behind Dortmund in the Bundesliga table and replaced him with Tuchel, who managed their rivals from 2015 to 2017. Tuchel's side dominated the cup tie for large parts but Hoefler's rocket from outside the box after Kingsley Coman scuffed a clearance drew Freiburg level and Hoeler's late spot-kick sealed a shock win. Freiburg lost last year's final on penalties to RB Leipzig while Bayern have failed to reach the last four for the third successive year. Elsewhere Randal Kolo Muani scored twice in as many minutes to secure Eintracht Frankfurt's progress in the cup with a 2-0 win against Union Berlin. ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/480/cpsprodpb/87CF/production/_129276743_gettyimages-1479834719.jpg

Randal Kolo Muani - Got both goals against Union. Every top club in Europe will want him in the Summer. Eintracht got him on a Free 18 months ago. They'll sell him for 90m+. Good business.
