Hey, I didn't start it. It started with the supposition that some kind of Hippy dude was wandering around Galilee claiming to be the son of God and that is proof positive that there is in fact a God. All I can say is that, for all of our sakes, I hope it isn't the monster of the old testament. As Dawkings pointed out, The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction : jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully. That's enough, unless either Jesus or God are maybe Gasheads, we should stop now. I rather like the cut of his jib. I'm in! There's bad news, there's no evidence whatsoever to believe for a second that he's actually real.

But remember to just choose the good stuff, ignore the slavery, genocide etc. I didn't believe, but then I read the Bible and there's a story in there about a God so powerful that there was this stick what was threw on the ground and it got turned by him into a snake. But then I got to thinking, Taylor's agent and Lansdown between them turned a footballer who throws himself on the ground a lot into a snake. You never see Lansdown, Taylor's agent and God all in the same place at the same time, do you? Just saying....

Give him a bell, he'll happily take you to the Smithsonian natural history museum and you can discuss the evidence that supports his side of the argument, it's a bit harder to argue against, mostly because it's real If you fancy a laugh, go to YouTube and take a look at Dawkins reading his hate mail, the best one is along the lines of, Dawkins, I hope you get run over by a church bus today and then burn for all eternity in hell. Signed. Christian. Living for Jesus.

I’m very open in telling anyone that asks me, that I’m a believer. It’s too much for here but I’ve had too many experiences where I truly should not be above ground. The Germans nicknamed me the saint due to this. Maybe I will meet you sometime and elaborate but I’m with you on Old Testament. Any deity that put Job through the suffering he endured must be one I would not want to be around. My parents would not like me saying this but I’m a believer in universal reconciliation

A lot depends on having a good priest.

The entire book is a cavalcade of immorality. I love having my own thread

Signed. Christian. Living for Jesus. I don't judge or condemn people of faith or none. I have met nasty vile people of all beliefs and thoughts but I have also met some of the most wonderful wonderful people with differing views. I have met religious people who I hated passing the time with for their extreme views but I have also been abused by atheists who told me I was simple, had mental health issues, needed a crutch and shouldn't be allowed such pathetic views... It's down to the individual whether of faith or not as to how they live their life, but don't judge us all the same. That's where bigotry begins...

Did I say that Dawkins' hate mail was representative of all people of faith? The truth is that good people will do good things, bad people will do bad things. No religion required for that equation.

I love having my own thread If only we could limit you to it. Well, that's not exactly full of peace and love to all mankind is it. What we need is a neutral arbitrator, a Speaker if you will, to ensure that these debates are conducted cordially and that correct and fair process is observed. I nominate 2 candidates. Burcow and 1970's Leeds front Man Arthur Graham, he won't stand for any nonsense.
