See what happens with just 1 Saturday without a game! It's true that idle matchdays cause us pain, so I can't blame you citing Gods for laughs. The players still somehow sustain some strain, especially our centre forward's calfs. If Gods were Gas supporters we might be instead without Tom Nicholls' injured knee. For what it's worth, no, I wouldn't swap one injury for another. This is the livelihood of these guys we are talking about here. I think that Tom should be asked to find another club, one where he's happy to go out and bust a gut in every game as he just doesn't do enough here, but I don't wish injury on him.

My expectations were exactly met: a Bamber insult no-one can forget. Here we go again, people forcing their own particular political bias on a bloody football forum. Here we go again, same old bore thinking he owns the forum. My dear Bambie and Blue Sky, I see you've been wanchored again on the other thread. To Blue Sky, please allow Bambie to wander off topic from time to time; he may be a reactionary old goat, but he can be interesting when he puts the effort in, so don't lose your patience. To Bambie, you can do so much better than this. Don't be boring, irrelevant, or rude to my comrade. Avoid cliché. More Hitchens, less Hopkins, old chap. You've still got it in you somewhere, I know. Behave yourselves please.

Admin say that Guess The Gate is OK, what goalkeeper should play is a brilliant topic of conversation, when does the club shop open is a topic worthy of consideration and lengthy debate, but someone well read who was an oratory genius is too much for them to be expected to cope with. It's a shame, because even if a single person wonders what you and I are talking about and goes off to investigate Hitch, it's hard to think that they wouldn't be better for the experience, even if it only means having to consider a rebuttal to his position. Anyway, I hear Katie fancied Christal Edwards. There you go Admin, that's your Rovers reference.

Remember, never Chris, he made a promise to his Mother to use his given name Don't confuse him with his brother. Would love to give a brief summary of his life's work, but with the forum being where it is it's probably best to leave it there and invite you to go and find an intellectual giant, who was sadly consumed by alcoholism. If you decide to debate Hitch, just one word of advice, you had better do some serious research, because he always did.

I guess before I started to use this forum as I truly don’t remember anyone using that name but certainly sounds a character

Hitch was a Marxist intellectual alcoholic chain-smoking athiest. The finest, and the most contrary. Interesting enough to be a kind of hero to both reactionary Conservatives like Bambi and radical ducks like me. Look up footage of his debates if you're interested.

Ha, wouldn't that have been wonderful. I'm sure Kegs' vocabulary would have been the better for it. Can you imagine Hitchens giving his views on The Religion of Peace on Gas Guzzler? Admins' heads would all have spontaneously exploded

It’s strange that I have never heard of him as I was an activist for quite some time. This may give me some interesting viewing

Hitchens uses facts and the correct application of vocabulary. Craig is a master of word salad, but Craig probably had a larger audience. If you can make any sense whatsoever of Craig's version of the Kalam Cosmological Argument, please explain it to me.

You'll find probably my favourite street antagonist, Aaron Ra, he takes no prisoners and pulls no punches. Hurrah for the internet The great thing is, these people have done the research and thinking and have condensed the arguments. But Hitch is head and shoulders above everybody I've found so far.
