now that the season is over, I don't suppose anyone has seen the accounts which tell us where we were at about this time last season? A few weeks ago I called Taylor Wessing, the firm which acts as Company Secretary, explaining that I was a shareholder in BRFC 1883 Ltd and asking when the 2018 accounts could be expected. I was put through to a lady in the “disputes and litigation” department who said she would find out and get back to me but she never did. When I thanked her I said “and you are in the disputes and litigation department” and she said “yes, they usually put these calls through to me”. Out of interest did you prove that you were a shareholder to said Lady?

I gave her my name and, waited for a minute or so, and then she said she would get back to me. Last year I contacted Taylor Wessing by email and they forwarded the accounts almost by return but within a short time they were available at Companies House anyway.

Would you care to speculate as to why this might be Swiss? Not really ampg. On the bigger picture I realize that my way of thinking is way out of step with that of most Gasheads who are quite content to sit back and take whatever comes our way.

Surely without speculation... there is no Forum. I like to hear what people have to say. I think you were the first to wave a red flag when a charge was put on the Mem and that worse news was to follow. About 2 months before the UWE collapse. I would suggest that the people get all angsty about "gossip and speculation" on the subject... don't read or respond to comments on it. So just for me and AMPG - what's your current thoughts? UTG.

I have made several phone calls to contacts I have in the club and are usually quite talkative but in recent days they have been reticent to say the least.so you can read that both ways either they know nothing or there is something going on and everyone has been told that they have to say nothing.this is weird at a club where secrets last about 5 minutes

You've contacted the club, Swiss can't get hold of accounts as a (albeit minority) shareholder, I've contacted Wael several times through different social media outlets he is active on, so it is not as if someone has forgotten or doesn't know! It's either a large announcement ~ takeover, large spending commitment, or the like ~; the key director is not around to sign off the accounts (unlikely); or the main shareholders won't sign off the accounts to guarantee it so that the auditors can sign the company off as a 'going concern'..... Whatever the excuse, it does seem pretty stupid not to get the accounts signed off as this will send alerts to banks and credit reference agencies warning them to monitor closely. If that is the case then the company's bank must be heavily involved with whatever is going on or it would seriously concern them!

I am hoping it’s much ado about nothing but I have concerns about the club but many just accept the silence and misdirection. What with me not being ever really bothered about accounts, has this happened before, at Rovers ?

I would have thought any negative news would have leaked like a seive as there always seems to be someone waiting to spill the beans so it can be all over the internet
Here's hoping

Rovers situation will not change for the better whilst the qadi are still the owners so the most positive news would be them selling up. I think that clubs can only stagnate for so long before they decline, not being relegated is important as it keeps non league football a division away,if Rovers had been relegated next season would be a concern.

My thoughts remain the same as they have done for the past two years. It was all a big mistake but, unfortunately for Rovers’ prospects, rich people are usually able to make sure others pay for their mistakes. Which means that any future owners will be starting from a much worse position than we had in February 2016 because the equity the club had in the Mem at that time will be gone. And so we are very likely to have to face the future as a small club with modest facilities and limited potential. The only recent information I have is that AJIB profits declined again in the first quarter of this year but the company still declared a 9% dividend. It looks to me that the company is rewarding it’s shareholders despite poor trading performance and borrowing from the Jordan Central Bank to ensure they have liquidity to pay that dividend. Meanwhile the people of Jordan are protesting in the streets about their falling standard of living and anyone with the ambition for self improvement must feel they are in a hopeless situation. For clarification the above paragraph is about AJIB not BRFC

without wanting to put words into knowall's mouth, that doesn't seem far from his view to me in the sense that they didn't really have much idea what they were taking on, and now that they know they are a bit stuck

But surely its all dependent on who, if anyone buys the club. We could be sold tomorrow, but it wont mean we are any better off necessarily
