Did this conversation take place in Qatar recently.

Last weekend my son had a conversation with an extremely wealthy gentleman, who had recently been approached about investing a large sum of money in Bristol Rovers. He was made aware of the proposed development of a new stadium, as far as I know he is not going to invest. He is not based in the UK, so it was purely a financial opportunity which was pitched at him, as he has no connection to football in this country. Did the wealthy gentleman get to see a prospectus? No idea. Whatever he did or didn't see, he wasn't tempted.

Well I came back in October as promised, we have a new majority owner, started building a large south stand without permission, and Barton's publicly exposing his own players mental difficulties after losing another match. It will be interesting to see what news is due in October. I know what news I am hoping for, as I really miss having a football club. I don't know what to make of the new ownership yet, but I do know that this news did not come in October.

Right month, Monkey. I trust O2 will include me on his own fine thread. I see Barton is currently achieving my threshold for Rovers managerial success, at this point in the season, at least: Rovers have won more games than they've lost in the third division. This is a success. I still hope the new owners sack him now.

Every time Barton blames the officials or one of his own players for a loss - this gets bumped to the top. Oops. Wrong thread, apologies.

Behave yourself, Uncle Eppers. It does occur to me, however, that the keenly anticipated news due in October might be not the change in ownership, which preceded the Gregorian calendar's tenth month by some time, but the new owner's first significant decision, one I hope involves a change to high profile personnel you may guess quite easily. I see Barton is no longer winning more games than he's losing in this season's third division...

Never mind members on the other forum, news came in October, and it was good. Delighted. Bye Barton. You were awful.

Also The Fruit Market is dead. Three more days of October remain. I like news.

Five years to get a conclusion to this thread. A nano second in the history of Rovers stadium sagas.
