We went be as we increased our budget. Plus pay more staff on top and pay to look into other projects etc, for the long term. Personally I will believe it when I see it. We have already had enough of smoke & mirrors plus lots of other things that just do not add up. It’s all well & good talking of sustainability but we had several of these experts come and go and Cunnah left as he knew he would not be able to work to his remit. Can we be sustainable with ever increasing losses then ? i know you mean well but I just don’t buy it. Any faith I may have had, has been eroded and I am totally disabused the our current owners will bring us anything but struggle and, like DC said, be a yo-yo club between L1 and 2, as we currently are. My hope is that we do get bought out or that major investment is coming. After all, the family are investment bankers, so why not allow others to invest ? I know what I think is true & have major reservations about but we shall see. I obviously would love to be proved wrong as I am a supporter and want the club to thrive and not just become static. I meant we will be worse off. The account's are not going to look pretty, because we increased our spend. We all know without a stadium and other major revenue streams, we are going to continue to lose money.

I just can’t understand how club like Walsall, Accrington etc, there are othes, manage to run their clubs and break even or make a small profit. I have supported Rovers since I was 5 and paying my own way from age 13 & I have never known the club do anything other than lose money but we are now seemingly losing more than under previous owners/chairman and board members. Forgive me for being mr gloomy but I have come to not trust bankers and we have had a lot of noise, initially at least, then we have had very conflicting news and some of it just contradicts what was said before and hidden under non disclosure yet it was fine to talk about the white elephant, that was UWE, after it had failed. My friend, I wish I had your positive outlook but I just don’t see us progressing, not under our current set up. As usual there is talk of interest but I have learned not to go into that now as it can backfire big time and so , like your average Rovers fan, I live in the hope that we can get at least investment into our team. The way I see it is that successful clubs start with the playing side and I still find it very hard to understand why we didn’t do that, when we had what was probably the best momentum I have known, when we got promoted back to the 3rd tier. This evolution stuff just isn’t working. As I said before, I sincerely hope I am proved wrong. I would never wish any failure on the club.

I’ve heard the talk too but just don’t put in out there anymore. I hope you are well & happy mate. I envy you the holiday fella. The holidays are fairly priced but, because I have a complex medical history and ongoing treatment, the travel insurance is just a killer of dreams for me. Have a good one mate and here’s hoping you are right. We could all use something to cheer us up.

Myself and Steve Burns visited there years ago and were given a guided tour by their then CEO Roy Whalley. None of it was rocket science just sound business planning and practice. We all knew what needed to be done but never got past the proposal stage.

We all knew what needed to be done but never got past the proposal stage. In view of the fact we're owned by international bankers yo'd have thought the minimum they could do is put a decent business plan together, rather than continue to run the club at a £1m+ loss p.a. It would be interesting to know our annual expenditure compared to similar size clubs such as Plymouth, Southend and Luton.

now that the season is over, I don't suppose anyone has seen the accounts which tell us where we were at about this time last season? A few weeks ago I called Taylor Wessing, the firm which acts as Company Secretary, explaining that I was a shareholder in BRFC 1883 Ltd and asking when the 2018 accounts could be expected. I was put through to a lady in the “disputes and litigation” department who said she would find out and get back to me but she never did. When I thanked her I said “and you are in the disputes and litigation department” and she said “yes, they usually put these calls through to me”.

It sounds like all is not perfect on the good ship 1883 I wonder if the Evening Bristol Post are at all interested?
