It's gonna be the ghost of Maxwell House.....Thames Valley Rovers. Those offices in London suddenly make more sense. What a load of old tripe, seriously! Professional businessmen want to announce everything in one go, but tell some bloke who can't keep his gob shut. Even then, it'll probably take us safely up to 20 pages.

Look if we have to choose the lesser of two evils I'd far rather be a feeder club to Reading than be a feeder club to the 82ers.
I'm all in on this one!

As far as I recall my memory is not so great now (I am one year older after my birthday yesterday) it concerned the Checkatrade tournament as we know many boycott it and I made a joke about them being part timers I am not sure how that would rattle their cages but hey ho as a Millwall fan I know always tells me "Know one likes us but we don't care" I will not be stopped from going to Exeter on Tuesday its my decision and some need to get over it.
I am not going to Barnet as reffing two matches on Sunday so that makes me a part timer too!

No - the 'joke' was a reference to the Bristol Evil Post and linking that to the murder of the Saudi journalist in Turkey. At best it was bad taste / Frankie Boyle type humour. However this obviously caused offence and was deleted. I think an apology (and I've been backing you up here) is probably appropriate. And we can all move on. UTG.

All,
Can we put this lingering dispute to one side, as this has less relevance to the takeover than Nino Firetto.
Let's kiss and make up, but no tongues!!

thats obviously not the joke, someone pm me it im intrigued now It was an odd joke regarding the torture and murder of Jamal Khashoggi and then something about the armed forces which, Mike has great respect for. So much so that he’s pretended to be a veteran on this forum and has been called a p***k for the above joke by a former member of the armed forces.

i gathered that, pm me it Literally can't remember it, all I remember was it was s***e and in poor taste. Not much different to the rest of his posts tbf. Happy to say I don't remember it either. I read it, recoiled and moved on before it could have the chance to properly register. And it wasn't a joke. That is just a word Harry uses whenever anyone picks him up on something contentious which he's written. He never apologises, never admits he is out of order, never acknowledges that perhaps he has written something inflammatory or provocative. On the rare occasion he does decide to edit a post, he sneakily re-writes it entirely rather than doing the decent thing and simply deleting as others generally do. On top of all that, he has shown in this thread that he is a hypocrite. What I find disappointing is that prior to his joining this forum I had thought he was someone worthy of respect for all the hours he has put in over to the years documenting facts and figures pertaining to Rovers' history. It's always sad when a person turns out to not be quite the way they appear to be. Such is life.

Whilst I can't remember the detail (I'll find it if anyone is that interested) he did something similar a year or so ago, wrote something completely ridiculous. I'm fairly sure that his books are sold on club premises and I've just checked the club website, they are for sale there, surely someone needs to have a word and explain that if he holds a position (is he the official club historian?), or if he's a commercial partner he's a club representative, 24/7 and that there are both privileges and responsibilities that come with that. You would imagine that Hani would cringe if he saw how he conducts himself on here. The other very odd thing is that he comes on here starting fires and creating trouble all over the place, then in the next breath he's posting in the wrong forum section advertising his tat and expects us to buy it off of him. Utterly bizarre.

I’ve just read in another thread, that you believe that no football matches should be played on Sunday as it’s Armistice Day. I certainly agree with this. You now state you are refereeing two matches on Sunday. Ridiculous.

Or are you letting your prejudices affect your interpretation No I don't think so. Either way, the post caused offence. A simple acknowledgement and apology could have saved further discussion. As could self-deletion of the offending post. However the option chosen was to re-write it (twenty three and a half hours later) to make it look as if nothing contentious had ever been said. Not the first time that approach has been taken. Presumably designed to make the poster look innocent and the objector appear deluded.

I have heard something dramatic is going on,but no real indication what. I've read a fair bit of this thread & who knows, it might be right. I'll believe it when I see it though - sadly social media encourages a lot of attention-seekers. We're all attention-seekers. it's the negative attention seekers you have to look out for, and I don't think Chris Brown is one of them :-)

I see that The FA, Prem League and Football League have not postponed matches so as I have been appointed to two matches and have no intention of letting young footballers down by not reffing how then should I proceed ? The refs secretary has instructed all match officials to undertake a minutes silence which of course I shall.

What I say on here are my views and frankly nothing to do with Hani whoever he is. I don't try and upset you or others on here just try to put you right when you spout off untruths. You seem to want to question my motives about writing books about our Club and I have offered to meet you to discuss further but you have refused. I feel you could contribute towards the Rovers History Group but you seem reluctant to even attend a meeting. Next one is on 7 January ?
