I know something, but I don't if it's the truth or when it is going to happen. A sceptical ITK. The online petition is dead and Hamer is not a Soccer pundit. Facts. I know something as well we are as fans powerless to affect what happens unless a real fan with deep pockets turns up we are at the mercy of people who’s only motivation is money the future of this club lies in the hands of people with no real love for it the Al-Qadi family only got into this for money and that’s gone sour but they paid less for the club than its main asset was worth so they can still come out of this without a loss but we as fans will be homeless again any new owners will want a return on any investment which doesn’t look very likely so as for most of our history we will stumble on from one crisis to another for us older fans is nothing new but I fear the next generation will not be the same I genuinely fear for the future of this great club hi

Just phoned my mate who lives in Jersey, it’s not him.
What plot of land in Filton?

The silence from our 'Leaders' is deafening . Yeah. In his his last interview with 20man Wael said all is going to be revealed. I think his actual argument was I’d love to tell the fans more but commercial and legal requirements prevent me. But he did imply something was afoot, did promise we would be told, and he should be held to it. Coming into season I was quite supportive of Wael, seems a nice guy, seems wealthy enough to keep us out administration and provide stability at least. Rome wasn’t built in a day (trust me, the sewers take generations of Superbus alone) reading some of my old posts I come across as the praetorian guard and gasheads angry we’re not the next Chelsea burning Arab cash the barabarians at the gates. BUT the Waq Shack was a bit of a turning point for me. If little steps do climb mountains, Waq Shack ain’t even a step, it’s afternoon tea with Dolly and Sissy at Godfrey cottage. At least get the little steps right. As as someone said on here, it’s not the stadium players spend all their time in, its the training ground where they work. I have come to think we are not holding players or attracting players because of training facilities. So yeah. Let’s push to hear why it’s so quiet on training ground. Fans owed timescales and understanding how it’s being paid for.

I'm told by people who have contact with players that top of the shopping list is length of contract and money, not training facilities. Maybe they would be a deal breaker if two offers from different suitors were similar, I don't know, but at this level, apparently, it's not the most important thing.

That's just the way it is.
As Irish says, the days of local businessman done well owning football clubs is pretty much dead

Fans owed timescales and understanding how it’s being paid for. The only firm time scale I am aware of is that Steve Hamer stated that the Colony will open on July 1st 2019. He didn't say at the time what the facilities would be like though. Wael started off by saying it would be a Category 2 Facility, Crazy Steve then somewhat downgraded that. Maybe we just leave the field as it is - and the team can train by playing hide-and-seek in the long grass.

"Peoples expectations" were largely set by Wael Al-Qadi. He has failed to deliver. "Unless someone with no concern for money takes over..." No, no, no, no. We failed to get a move to the UWE was because these BANKERS could not get the required ROI. This meant that external funding could not be sourced. We desperately need new owners who can move this Club forward. Owners who are genuinely in this for the long run and have a lower expectation on ROI than Dwane Sports. Owners that can deliver a new Stadium. I think we are all agreed that this is the only way we can ever realistically achieve sustainability at championsh*t/League 1 level. Are these new potential owners capable of delivering this? Oldie (and others) contend that the numbers never stood up and that UWE is fundamentally undeliverable. One can but pray. (I'm agnostic - I like to keep my options open). "IF" we are still owned by Dwane Sports in another 2 1/2 years time IMHO we will be right royally f*cked. And probably homeless. Just look at the new Family Stand FFS. Look at it. Just look at it. I am not saying they haven't let themselves down in some regards with talk of experts and the stagnation of the colony and a lack of communication
My point was at the time of the takeover, some were getting carried away. People were talking about Billionaires, but Wael never suggested that and since day 1 extolled the virtues of evolution not revolution. i.e Wael was trying to manage expectations somewhat, even if it has all gone a pear shaped for whatever reasons now
If we get taken over tomorrow and announce UWE will be built, some people still give off the impression that think that UWE is the sole answer, rovers will be raking it in and whomever the manager is will get loads more money to spend, without the considerations that the stadium has to be paid for and all the other aspects/trade offs with the UWE.
people have talked about a land swap and that gives off the impression that all will be good, UWE gets built and we are off and rocking, but clearly going to be more to any deal then just that
To be fair Wael's attempts to quell the expectation upon his arrival were as limp as throwing a damp cloth at a forest fire. You could tell he revelled in the notoriety with the way he never missed a photo opportunity to flash that cheshire cat grin and glad hand with some Gasheads, culminating in him being carried down Gloucester Road. That was the summer of plenty and now we have reached our winter of discontent we see more of the invisible man than we do of Wael and his smug grin.

Adapted famous commentary from Barrie Davies (Francis Lee scoring for Derby against Man City at Maine Road)
"Embarrassing , very embarrassing, oh look at that stand, just look at that stand."

When Alexander of Macedonia was 33, he cried salt tears because there were no more worlds to conquer… Nichols is only 25.

Or after Nicholls scores.
"Goals pay the rent and Nicholls does his share"
Keegan in 74 Cup final.

Have you heard the latest rumour overheard at the Welly late last night .....Bristol Rovers have been sold to fund the Bloodhound.
When the £25m becomes available after the sale of the Memorial Stadium and Colony, the Bloodhound could start running on Hakskeen Pan towards the end of 2019, when the lakebed has evaporated the seasonal rains and the ground has become bone dry. The current plan is to run the car in the first instance in the region of 500-600mph (800-965km/h), using just the Eurofighter jet, to get a better sense of how the car behaves as it approaches the speed of sound. The team would then wait for another rain season to pass before returning to Hakskeen with the addition of a Nammo motor to raise the land speed record above 800mph, and then ultimately to over 1,000mph. So, that would probably mean running in 2020 and again in 2021.
At least some good has come at long last.

Our liabilities will be close to the value of our only serious asset when the next lot of accounts are released. Of course, we now have a new stand, so that'll increase the value of the stadium.

Or after Nicholls scores. "Goals pay the rent and Nicholls does his share" Keegan in 74 Cup final. Or, more pertinently, " Goals pay the rent and Nichols is being evicted"
