Can we just establish:
You want to go to this game; good for you, hope you enjoy it. Why the need to sneer at those that don't?
Also, why the need to keep posting about it: your intention of going to that game isn't of great interest to anyone else. If the subtext is 'holier than thou' (it's hard to think why else you keep bringing it up), it's all a matter of opinion, and you're not likely to change anyone's mind on that one by repeated mention of your blind commitment (other than maybe causing some of us to think it's maybe a bit creepy). Personally, my respect goes out on other criteria than that.
Some of us aren't going: live with it. Enjoy the game.

Didn't see you at Hartlepool away on a Tuesday night last season Mike? Have a wonderful evening watching Reading FC's kids though. yes was there ...Easter was quality as he was last evening ....did not see you at Gateshead when Ellis scored our late winner ....part timers make me sick !
Also cant recall seeing you at Hayes when Robin Friday et all beat us....but do recall seeing you at Wembley in 1990 for Tranmere match
You wouldn't have seen Gas Panic at Wembley in 1990, the young un won't birthed. However he was at Gateshead, pretty sure he was bollocksed.

How are the Reading academy side doing Mike? You've obviously got a fascination for their academy side so for those of us without this fascination could you let us know what we'll be missing when we boycott the match to protect the integrity of the Football League? Appreciate that you don't care about that integrity but each to their own personal choice, wouldn't you say? As you might expect Shadow Williams former Reading youth scout tells me they are a tidy side BUT to be brutally honest I prefer watching Rovers first team, Development side and Under 18s more....actually tell me what integrity is there within professional football. You sound half knowledgeable would love to know. See you at Wembley The integrity of 72 individual clubs represented by the first team of those 72 clubs. Sadly I don't want 20 Premiership teams being able to field another team in the Football League, sadly you obviously support that idea. That is the integrity of the Football League, don't confuse that integrity with honesty. Still you enjoy yourself next week, if the football is crap you can go back to dreaming about the 16000 you think will be watching us against Portsmouth

On a different note, how is this good for lower league football (part 7):
Is this now the opening four weeks of the season that we have two games a week? Usually, two games a week two weeks running is considered a challenge. Add to that, this is the start of the season, so 0-60, add in hot weather... Okay, one of these fixtures was our fault for beating Cardiff (presumably we weren't meant to), but when the fourth two-games-in-a-week in a row is to give Reading U21s a run-out against a proper team, that smacks of lack of care and consideration, let alone respect.

1. Free speech ..be careful what you write...my old school teacher always said I Disapprove of What You Say, But I Will Defend to the Death Your Right to Say It 2. Sneer ....that's not my style never has been never will be The original statement was underlining the fact that while loads want to travel to Chelsea why not support our cup run closer to home....The Mem. I too Dislike holier than thou fans. 3. All have the right to attend or not attend and as you are fond of telling us you wont for reasons well versed here so not worth repeating 4. Creepy watching a JPT tie or Checkatrade tie...I feel many will feel insulted by your suggestion. Those who want to watch a football match without feeling guilty about it ...I may suggest you do need counselling if you seriously think that 5. Enjoy your Tuesday evening...Just think of what you can do with that fiver from the Reading match....catch up with EastEnders, maybe a charity donation or maybe even a bet on Rovers winning promotion. Although I do discourage gambling. Whatever you do enjoy it and don't do drugs.

Do have fun watching Reading Youths in the Joke trophy won't you. I hope the experience gives you that holier than holy feeling, that seems to be so badly craved. Fortunately my 'Superfan' credentials are currently gleaming, following some proper away day graft, acquired over a long painful career following our beloved club. So 90mins watching us entertain Berkshire Under 15's is far from required at this point. Congratulations on also being an accessory to the continued downfall (and probable destruction) of the Football League. Best wishes. The Dude. Do you think the powers to be will give a flying f*** about a few people "boycotting" a game between two nothing teams ?

No company wants to be linked with gates of 200.

If there is enough evidence to say the changes are a detriment to the tournament, then I can see lobbying in the form of voting with feet making a difference to those whom care. It's peaceful, and the club can be funded in other ways. The only other option is to conform. I wonder which option has a better chance of sending the correct message to powers that be?

As I don't know either of you, I don't know whether this message is banter between two mates, petty rudeness, or some kind of elaborate foreplay.

So will those 4,000 who went to Chelsea be going to our next cup tie next Tuesday at home....await the excuses ...washing my hair, need to take dog to vets, off to watch David Brent etc ....READING at the Mem 745pm kick off....only £5 to watch no voucher E required. UTG What a smug and pompous post. I'm not sure excuses are required as I don't beleive that attendance is compulsory? Those choosing not to attend (or unable to) will just have to live with the knowledge that you are a better fan and a better person than them. Anyway, didn't most Chelsea tickets go to season ticket holders?

Occasionally threads on here can become unnecessarily heated. It happens. But the above is just childish personal abuse. Stop it.
