Charlotte Leslie and Nick Higgs have been pictured so often together I thought they were Siamese Twins. Is it not possible that it is Higgs himself who has instigated this political pressure with a quiet word in her ear? I certainly don't believe she has generated all this publicity off her own bat. I bet she has a designated line to Nick, for photo ops and the like, and the first thing she would do if she had these concerns would be to consult him about them. It beggars belief for anyone to suggest she is doing this without talking to the club. The whole thing is extremely worrying, and if we are to sit back and wait for Uncle Nick to make a statement we will be waiting a very long time.

I don't care if they have gone to fecking Cardiff first.
I think we just want to know we have been wired £30million or whatever it is and its in the bank account
and maybe just maybe BRFC got some of that money as Compo in the form of discount on Stadium build costs to delay it 6 months.... Stranger things have happened Strange though then that the open letter from MPs and CL's PMQ is about Sainsbury's and not the Buckingham Group don't you think?

Why would Nick want to be putting pressure on. I thought we were crossing I's and dotting T's

Urghhh, Higgs needs to issue a sodding response to this open letter. As soon as possible ideally - I hate threads like this where every permutation under the sun is named, unnecessary increase in stress levels

To a degree I actually sympathise with the BoD over the whole Whaddon Road episode - I understand that they were in discussions with alternative funding providers and so withholding news that Opal had pulled out strengthens the negotiating hand you have. As soon as the Opal news was public all other parties would be clear the club were desperate and so the negotiations were destined to fail.
Yeah, that one amused me. Opal pull out so they try to conclude a deal with an alternative supplier over a weekend a few weeks before the build was due to start. Would this alternative provider not have asked any questions, were they hoping to take them to the pub get them bladdered before slipping a contract under their noses? Opal was in the public domain already.
What a crock of sh*t.

Spot on Pessimist. Higgs came straight out and blamed people for discussing it on the internet, odd that he forgot to mention who it was that leaked the facts! Pile of old baloney, and as always at Rovers, everything is someone else's fault.

You fell for the excuse RG2 as it is always somebody else's fault, on this occasion they tried to blame Vital Gas. If John Ward had been around it would have been his fault.

If we get good news another rumour will start in a few days and Higgs will have to speak to deny it again!!

Why not, he is the head of the company and if his customers are concerned and are asking questions then he should respond. Higgs has the power to pull everything together and unite the club, unfortunately he doesn't know how to. IMO

Well I'll be honest it was the only plausible explanation for the ongoing Whaddon Road charade otherwise what possibly could ever have been the justification for continuing with it

The only 'good news' from this is we will be put out our agony in a few days time. The high profile risk of getting the PM and other Tory heavyweights along with Dawn p and other Labour powerhouses will mean a YES or NO from Sainsburys quite soon. We can either rejoice or cry but finally we will know..
