Matty Taylor - I suggested earlier in the season that you should not be playing for BRFC, despite your obvious talent. Now I just pray we can keep you. What a magnificent hat trick last night, it was a privilege to watch.

His all round game was very good, missed one or two too many, but for his size he is decent in the air, can hold the ball, bit of pace and plenty of control. With a mobile target man alongside with ability, he looks even better.

Those that chose to get personal about him (and Darrell for that matter) are the ones that need to apologise

Everybody saw the potential. For the moment that chance/goal ratio has improved, but if it goes back to where it was last season then it would become a serious issue again as you don't get half a dozen simple chances each game at this level. He's stopped diving as well

i think we all got frustrated at times with mattys finishing but he always seems to bounce back and score goals. there are even people on here who slagged him off as useless now claiming they always saw potential in him!! you couldnt make it up could you?

He's stopped diving as well Everybody saw the potential?? At the risk of sounding like John McEnroe, " You cannot be serious." After the abuse and criticism some people on here gave him? During the Exeter game, I heard one fan telling another how lazy Taylor is. FFS. And it`s not entirely about scoring goals, Bamber. Simonj has it spot on, when he lists Taylor`s attributes. And yet there are many people on here, who have been watching him play for the last year, without being able to spot any of those attributes. It`s utterly beyond me. They won`t realise just how good Taylor was until he`s gone, and Easter is leading the line.

Lazy is the wrong word because his workrate has always been good. He did, however, appear to have a lackadaisical look about him when missing all those sitters. He just needed to focus. Compare him, who's made his way up the leagues, to somebody like Lambert, who came down from the top and made his way up again. Lambert has the Liverpool look about him, a distinct finisher and a team player. Taylor has never had that input from an elite club like that and needs time to develop. He's already got League 2 sussed out and will only improve as the stakes get higher and there's less room for mistakes. He had a strike partner last night too who took a lot of responsibility off his shoulders by pulling defenders out of position.

Can't ever see Easter or Harrison getting back in if Gaffer keeps playing like that

Fair play fella. Good to see

Can't ever see Easter or Harrison getting back in if Gaffer keeps playing like that Gaffney has played all but 12 minutes of the last two games which were only a few days apart, so I think that we can assume that he is reasonably fit . . . which is (allegedly) one of the reasons that he's here in the first place. I wonder if his arrival was just the boost that was needed? My concern is that he may be recalled by Cambridge, or snatched away by another club.

Can't ever see Easter or Harrison getting back in if Gaffer keeps playing like that I don't mind going out on a limb & saying that I don't think Easter was or ever will be right for the club or team. I don't know much about his previous career but what I see is a genuinely lazy player that is capable of some fancy tricks and it's the little tricks that sometimes look good. In my opinion and from watching him, I see a player who will not stretch himself and just lacks any real enthusiasm or bite. I would, of course, absolutely love to be proved wrong. I know I am no expert but I was never in the group who felt he was a good prospect and I certainly never believed what many said when they said he " would score for fun in this league" i feel pretty bad that he is one of only 2 players that actually are contracted after the seasons end. I would much rather Jamie Lucas get the experience under his belt. No, I really don't think Easter has the potential to do well. I believe he is getting a final payoff from football, while being close to his friends and family. I will be very happy to apologise if he proves me wrong.
