Can't ever see Easter or Harrison getting back in if Gaffer keeps playing like that I don't mind going out on a limb & saying that I don't think Easter was or ever will be right for the club or team. I don't know much about his previous career but what I see is a genuinely lazy player that is capable of some fancy tricks and it's the little tricks that sometimes look good. In my opinion and from watching him, I see a player who will not stretch himself and just lacks any real enthusiasm or bite. I would, of course, absolutely love to be proved wrong. I know I am no expert but I was never in the group who felt he was a good prospect and I certainly never believed what many said when they said he " would score for fun in this league" i feel pretty bad that he is one of only 2 players that actually are contracted after the seasons end. I would much rather Jamie Lucas get the experience under his belt. No, I really don't think Easter has the potential to do well. I believe he is getting a final payoff from football, while being close to his friends and family. I will be very happy to apologise if he proves me wrong. I don`t think he`s lazy; if you keep an eye on him during the game, he puts in plenty of runs. It`s just that they hardly ever amount to anything. And whereas Taylor can control a long ball, make space for himself and then pick out a pass, Easter can do none of those things. When the ball is played up to him, a defender takes it off of him with the minimum of effort, and we`re back under pressure. He reminds me of Joe Kuffour, once Rickie had left, in that respect. Everything else you say about him, I agree with. And I hope he proves me wrong, too.

I have always rated Taylor, and have said many times that Rovers needed a big strong centre forward to play up front with him ( ok he isn't that big but seems strong enough). Someone said to me at Exeter that we have the Grab ( Taylor ) but we need a Smash..hopefully we have found him. Also with Bodin maybe we have found the creative player that has been lacking ?, I agree with SteveK 192 in his match report that maybe its worth trying Easter in midfield,if that worked its just the goalkeeper position to sort out and I think injuries and suspensions apart that Rovers could really be in with a chance of a top 7 finish.

Still not down from last night, been grinning to myself all day. Best trip to the Mem in ages for me. Could never get tired of stuffing w**ky Wanderers.
I've been in favour of resting/swapping out Taylor in the past but I've never, ever, considered him "useless" or a "waster" and I could never understand the s**te he got from some quarters. His confidence from this will seeing us pushing the play-off spaces, hard.

When he misses a few chances it doesn't mean he is s**t and that the club need to sign a 'better' striker. In the same vein, last nights hat trick doesn't mean he is the next Rickie Lambert.

Matty Taylor - I suggested earlier in the season that you should not be playing for BRFC, despite your obvious talent. Now I just pray we can keep you. What a magnificent hat trick last night, it was a privilege to watch. It`s just a surprise to me, that you ( and many others ) couldn`t see the potential in him. A trip to Specsavers, perhaps? I could see the potential, I just could not see the goals. Now I see the goals and spec savers is in sufficient - I should have gone to twatsavers they might have saved me from being one.

I was going to write that it was the best performance from a striker I have seen since lambert scored 4, but that makes it sound like lamberts 4 were better than matty's 3; they were not. I just watched the highlights and those were 3 skilfully taken chances with the 3rd being sublime. You can't saver them when you are there! If it were not for a spectacular save, we would be talking about matty's 4 goals.

One things for sure unfortunately; scouts will be taking a lot of notice of him now. I've seen a lot of videos of that first goal pop up on twitter from non-Rovers sources.

Two scouts left immediately after his second goal, apparently. Either they were secret Wycombe fans or they'd seen enough.

Then it's your duty as a Rovers fan to make a 2 hour compilation of him missing simple chances last season and stick that up on Twatter.

Rumour mill says Reading have been scouting him ..and the problem is, we always have been and will continue to be a "selling club". And what club is not a selling club? And if no one sells a good player how are we supposed to buy one as per the request of many.

And if no one sells a good player how are we supposed to buy one as per the request of many. There are clubs who buy young up-and-coming players or players in their prime (Buying Clubs) and those who sell their promising or best players (Selling Clubs). I know that essentially comes down to money (it always does) but we've always been a "Selling Club". Over the decades we have developed some great young players or nurtured others to become high value players but we have consistently sold them and not used them as the core of squad development to push the club to a higher level. It goes right back to Larry Lloyd, through to Gary Mabbut, Marcus Stewart and more recently Rickie Lambert. Others with better memories than me could name more I'm sure.

Come on lads, you know it's worth it.

As we bought Roberts, Lambert, Hayles to name three that we later sold does this mean we are a buying or selling club?
