But would you moan less about it now if you thought it would lead to us being relegated to the Conference or do you think you would moan whatever league we were in ? I'm not saying it would have made any difference by not moaning but should we have appreciated more where we were at the time ? I thought the dire, awful football that PT was dishing up would only be a 'success' in a short term, hence the season Lambert left PT got away with it to a very creditable finish. The next season everyone saw through it & we were going down the pan fast. As to appreciating it more at the time ..... do you appreciate a drowning man flailing in the sea because he has brought himself another 5 minutes of life? Personally I think too many people were very appreciative of PT because of 2007 & closed their eyes to what was actually happening. . . . but it all seems an awful long time ago now, don't you think? Cue (very, very) deep sigh.

Going back to the subject matter I think Darrell has done pretty well with the players he has on board and the reduced budget everyone talks about. I would still critise the lack of landing an out and out striker, lack of an attacking midfielder - but we were very unlucky with DLV who was just that man. Some of his loan signings have been a waste - fail to understand Goldberg and Wall!
However generally he does the right thing, is positive and articulate and to me is creating the impression of a decent, young, progressive, ambitious Manager and one we would do well to keep.

Was DC that unlucky with LDV though as if he carried on like he did against Barnet etc wouldn't Fulham simply have decided to recall him in any event and then send him to a Div 2 or higher team, once his loan spell was due to expire?
Who knows they may now send him back to get fit once he recovers from his injury?
