I have said it all along there is a Hidden Agenda on here which is not present on the other forum. From what I can see there is no significant difference between the two forums, let alone a Hidden Agenda on this one.
Many of the posters are the same, many of the readers are the same.
I don't know why we have two forums. Frankly I get tired of having to read the same stuff twice, when much of it is not even worth reading once....!
And I'm in a good mood this morning.

Agreed, but having watched it live no one could have been happy with the first half performance, it was woeful. Thankfully neither was DC and he had the balls and wherewithal to do something about it and he has to take the credit for that. I struggle with some on here who seem to think having a moan is tantamount to treason, it's part of being a football supporter, get over it!
I don't think there is an awful lot wrong with having a little moan, chatting to my mates in the first half we all thought it was pretty poor. However, I did hear one shout after 5 minutes (yes FIVE minutes after the game had started) of 'You haven't got a f******g clue Clarke', and it isn't uncommon to hear such things, in fact I would go as far as saying I have heard similar things, either about our players or manager in the vast majority of our games in the past few seasons. These aren't little asides to a mate eg 'that was a s*** pass, I think he's crap' in a conversation level voice, I am talking about proper loud rants along the lines of 'You're a f******g disgrace .... insert name of current scapegoat here'. It also isn't uncommon to log onto a forum after any kind of defeat and see demands for change, manager, players, board , tea lady ad infinitum. If watching Rovers makes these people that unhappy- even if they do really feel they love their club- then maybe it would be best for everyone (including themselves) if they didn't follow the team any more.
Maybe we could have a little psychological test before each game, on the turnstiles and you could judge whether people are Gas enough to follow Rovers. It’s your birthday. Someone gives you a Rovers wallet. How do you react? You’re watching television. Suddenly you realize there’s Rovers on TV. What do you do? You’re in a desert walking along in the sand when all of the sudden you look down, and you see Stuart Sinclair, he’s crawling toward you. You reach down, you flip Stuart Sinclair over on his back. Stuart lays on his back, his belly baking in the hot sun, beating his legs trying to turn himself over, but he can’t, not without your help. But you’re not helping. Why is that? Describe in single words, only the good things that come into your mind about Darrell Clarke?

Is that the ones where seemingly a lot of money goes into them, but when you go to take some out it's all gone?

Its not having a moan tho is it? It is convenient poison. Where is the praise from these people after a good performance? A couple of words compared to constant venom aimed at the latest Rovers scapegoat Darrel Clarke. We all moan but these people are something different. You know full well what these two posters are getting at and it is not just those who moan. I have said it all along there is a Hidden Agenda on here which is not present on the other forum. Don't suppose you will ever share what that 'Hidden Agenda' is? Or are they just weasle words when an argument is lost.

The other forum is made up of kids who seem to think everything is rosy at Rovers, perhaps they are so young they can't even recall the good times at Twerton let alone Eastville? Or have been effected by banning orders etc? At the end of the day nobody is forced to use this forum but fans do as it's a damn sight more interesting than the other one!

Well done Rovers - in the end. Was it worth going on TV and moving to a Friday night? In the past we've had fairly good crowds for a one-off Friday night game. Last night was 5,367, which is something like 400-500 under our average this season. Moving to a Friday, at fairly short notice, in the Christmas party season could have taken around 500 off the gate. It could have reduced the number travelling all the way from Gateshead, who might have made a weekend in town had it been on the Saturday. The result and performance against Bath probably caused a dent in the figures too, though. Season ticket holders would have already been accounted for (like me, and I wasn't best pleased with the change, but luckily the pub we had our Christmas meal in showed the game) but I reckon we could have lost around £5K potential income, against whatever BT paid us. Okay, a positive might be we gain some fans that saw it on TV - as long as they didn't switch off after the first half!!

Very true, but I can pretty much guarantee that during a match very soon he will be getting plenty of stick on forums(and in the ground) if we go behind in a game. It is all becoming rather tedious and I do wish people would realise a game lasts 90 minutes. Well put Jeff. Fortunately DC, unlike all the pillocks on here who won't allow any comment on his decisions, is man enough to realise when he has made a mistake or things aren't going as planned & is willing to make early changes to improve the position. Still I think it was Steve192 who said he wasn't to blame for the defeat against Bath it was all down to the players. So well done the players last night who must surely take all the credit for the win.

Is there any choice in moving it once the league's broadcaster has selected it for broadcast?

Some people just find it easier to project the complete mismanagement of Bristol Rovers, over a good chunk of the past two decades onto whichever employee, of those responsible, is their favoured scapegoat at the current time IMO.

I struggle with some on here who seem to think having a moan is tantamount to treason, it's part of being a football supporter, get over it! There is questioning and being frustrated. I wasnt happy with the first half, but we came through as a team. What is annoying is some people wont give the team or DC any credit at all or at best begrudgingly. Are we perfect far from it, but this squad whatever our limitations has us at the top end of the table and they deserve a bit of credit. Some people dont seem to have any patience at The Mem when things arent working quite right despite the fact we have proved we can pick up points with our work rate A guy near me wanted us pushing them all over the bitxh despite the fact it was obvious that is what Gateshead wanted do they could play in the no 23 with a cross field ball, which they managed on quite a few occasions to start with. People do need to realise there is another team on the pitch at times and watch what they are trying to do Chap in the West Stand behind me was shouting "press press press" when we were chasing shadows as Gateshead very intelligently moved the ball about before launching some very quick raids. Didn't seem to get it when I said that just what they want us to do press so much we are exposed at the back and in effect that's how their opener arrived. We needed to keep our shape, stay in the game and then get after them with passion and commitment when the opportunity arose. That's exactly what we did. Great work by DC!

Oh come on - if you're not going to name some name's there then you're just creating a total straw man because I've gone through this thread and I can't see a single negative comment directly about DC in the thread. I see a lot of credit given for him changing things up. It's just like Henbury with silly snide general put downs of half the forum that avoids actual proper engagement- if you're not going to directly refer to who you mean and make some general vague 'you're crap supporters comment' it doesn't really carry any weight. What I see is people making comments as the game is evolving on a MATCH THREAD and we were terrible for the 1st 30 minutes. I really can't see what's wrong with people stating that - I imagine most people in the ground were thinking the same thing and everyone's coming from a different perspective; I can completely understand Jeff wondering how the hell we were 3rd having watched that first half an hour. These are perfectly valid opinions - it's what a discussion board is for surely.

Super result against a good Gateshead side. There's no two ways about it, The Heed were the better team in the first half and played the occasion well. Gary Mills will have known that if they could frustrate us by keeping possession that some of our fans would get restless and on the backs of our players, which is exactly what happened. DC's decisiveness and willingness to change things up to get us back in the game worked an absolute treat and demonstrates, in my opinion, that we have a very good young manager.
I don't rate Olle Clarke all that highly because he tends to do what he did for their second goal too often but my word his equaliser was a stunning goal. He has popped up with a few worldies this season and credit to him for that because they have been important goals that have earned us points. The two men that usually keep him out the team were worthy goalscorers as well and Manse's free-kick was executed to perfection - and not for the first time at The Mem. Sinclair's goal typified his energetic performance; he read the situation with the keeper coming out of his box and tucked the ball away with aplomb.
You could see the delight in all three players' faces when they wheeled away in celebration and that is what Gasheads have longed to see from their team. There is a great team spirit this season and that will take us a long way, because even when we aren't playing well we have the sort of work ethic that can get us back into the game.
Well done Gas, I thoroughly enjoyed the comeback win.

I don't know about that but there is a very strange way of peoples perception of `just moaning`. We all like a moan and can point out where Darrel `went wrong` and then changed things around because he saw what wasn't working and how `so and so` was bloody useless today but we don't want the bloke gone or demand instant promotion. And we certain don't raise our ugly heads when we lose and spout venom and disappear totally when we win. But we are all different, Im just glad I don't sing from THEIR hymn sheet.

In fairness I think the people who project negative comments are conspicuous by their absence when we win, IMO of course.

Unfortunately a vocal minority will have their say, and their say is always right. Dissent or alternative thinking is not tolerated, on pain of ridicule and/or personal abuse. I have never been able to understand why there cannot be an exchange of views and opinions without the need to ridicule other posters with a differing point of view.
