He's not 'new' though is he. The situation was saveable last year when Clarke took sole charge, he made a monumental mess of things, it was obvious after Torquay that he's clueless, nothing has changed
There you go a direct quote from someone on the forum.

That's 3 times I've seen us struggling in midfield and Clarke has come of the bench and things have changed. He was dreadful at Telford but scored a great winner with amazing precision . Perhaps we could try him up front as our strikers never seem to score. You beat me to it geoffrey, but it does seem to be a little unkind.

Has there been any news on McCrystal's injury? . . . a bit “bruised and battered” and is not expected to have sustained a serious injury, according to the Bristol Post. Thanks, brizzle. I'd actually made a rare visit to the EP website to see if there was any news there, but it randomly popped up an advertising video over what I was reading just as I got to the bit about McCrystal. Charming Glad to hear that it's nothing too serious

Again - who are 'they'? These are individuals posting opinions - if you have a problem with those opinions or their perspectives then challenge them on it directly otherwise what is the point of bothering with a discussion board at all? Sorry, but as a moderator I just find vague 'these people' comments bloody annoying and totally pointless. The same goes for people referring to 'Rose Tinters'; it's just individuals with opinions at the end of the day the extent to which there are identifiable groups of fans is spectacularly exaggerated. I guess some people use message boards to vent their frustrations - you might not like that but it's not fair to second guess what their motivations may or may not be without identifying examples of who or what you are upset about. It condemns people without giving them a proper right to reply and that seems underhand and not how a message board should operate; if it's not an honest exchange of individual opinions then it's a waste of time. Jesus hell Mary!! Challenge you say. Well, that has been done many times by myself and others and the answer is always the same. He couldn't keep us up with 8 games to go, bloody useless, out of his depth etc. etc need I go on? Yes it is their opinions just like mine are are mine. But there comes a time when you don't ask or question anymore because there is no point. I will not trapes through peoples posts to prove my point but if you want to prove me wrong, be my guest.
It's pretty much impossible to prove a negative but you are the one making the accusation of what certain posters are doing and why based on posts they have made on this thread, so surely you're the one who needs to back that up with evidence because it's not clear at all. I can't see anyone on this thread who calls for DC's sacking or who actually says anything directly negative about him and I can't see any comment that looks standout unfair. So the onus is on you to show which posts on this thread you consider to be covering for 'convenient poison' (as you put it and that's a pretty strong statement as it implies deception). At the moment all I can see is a complete straw man. Also, yes, keep challenging, keep making the point what's the problem there? That's what we want isn't it? All those arguments against DC are valid (I don't agree with them at all; I think he's doing a good job on the whole) but I can't see why there's a reason to play the man and not the ball when debating it. If there's no point in asking questions then surely there's even less point in making veiled, unspecified accusations about 'certain posters' and 'moaners'.

Show me where, ON THIS THREAD,I have accused anyone of wanting Darrel Clarke sacked! As for the straw man, there are plenty of them on here as you well know.

A word of advice (if I may) irish, don't tangle with the noisy neighbours. Always remember that they know best, on all matters. Their specialist subject seems to be . . . telling other people what to think. Oh, and righteous indignation.

Telling people what others are thinking/saying? That is what this whole s**te conversation is about and you are doing just that!! Comical but expected.

No I want the message board to work properly with people making it clear whose opinions they are objecting to and why; not using veiled general accusations and pops at unspecified posters with no evidence produced. OK granted - it wasn't sacked, the line was scapegoated. You said this - 'You only have to read the first few posts on here, its quite sad and reflects these peoples personas' and then when challenged followed it up with this; 'Where is the praise from these people after a good performance? A couple of words compared to constant venom aimed at the latest Rovers scapegoat Darrel Clarke' and then this 'You know full well what these two posters are getting at and it is not just those who moan'. I honestly don't know what it is 'these two posters' are 'getting at' or indeed who 'these two posters' are - neither did Jeff. I want to know as a moderator what it is you are on about. Because I can't see on this thread anyone saying anything that could be described as 'scapegoating' Darrel Clarke but you seem to think 2 posters on this thread who you don't actually name (yet at the same time claim it reflects their personas and later of using 'convenient poison') are expressing false opinions. I think that's quite a big accusation to make without identifying who it is you are on about or providing any actual evidence and therefore giving them the right to respond (especially as you consistently cast aspersions about their characters and attitude). Seems like the equivalent of talking behind someone's back.

It has been pointed out to them many times by myself and many others. Why do you keep referring to this thread? I have said the above because that is what certain posters do and have done. You know and can see that so why the 40 questions? You are making a mountain out of a mole hill for nothing. I have said to you before, you know full well what I am talking about. Its all just my opinion mind you so will not match those opinions with the almighty.

So suggested said site for some `relief` from the trivial of his `job` As for research purposes it comes highly recommended

I don't think there is an awful lot wrong with having a little moan, chatting to my mates in the first half we all thought it was pretty poor. However, I did hear one shout after 5 minutes (yes FIVE minutes after the game had started) of 'You haven't got a f******g clue Clarke', and it isn't uncommon to hear such things, in fact I would go as far as saying I have heard similar things, either about our players or manager in the vast majority of our games in the past few seasons. These aren't little asides to a mate eg 'that was a s*** pass, I think he's crap' in a conversation level voice, I am talking about proper loud rants along the lines of 'You're a f******g disgrace .... insert name of current scapegoat here'. It also isn't uncommon to log onto a forum after any kind of defeat and see demands for change, manager, players, board , tea lady ad infinitum. If watching Rovers makes these people that unhappy- even if they do really feel they love their club- then maybe it would be best for everyone (including themselves) if they didn't follow the team any more.
Maybe we could have a little psychological test before each game, on the turnstiles and you could judge whether people are Gas enough to follow Rovers. It’s your birthday. Someone gives you a Rovers wallet. How do you react? You’re watching television. Suddenly you realize there’s Rovers on TV. What do you do? You’re in a desert walking along in the sand when all of the sudden you look down, and you see Stuart Sinclair, he’s crawling toward you. You reach down, you flip Stuart Sinclair over on his back. Stuart lays on his back, his belly baking in the hot sun, beating his legs trying to turn himself over, but he can’t, not without your help. But you’re not helping. Why is that? Describe in single words, only the good things that come into your mind about Darrell Clarke? Blade runner. Great film
