So, the group who were going to hold the club to account are being directed towards working for the club. Doesn't sound too different to the existing SC to me? I would argue we have held the club to account - that's why the Q & A took place in July. We were also able to ask questions and get answers last night. We cannot wave a magic wand and get all the things we want because the number of supporters who actually fronted up turned out to be around 90/100 all told, but at least we have had these events. We have put our thoughts and questions across and the directors theirs. I would like to think both sides think it's good to listen to each other so that messages /views/ideas get understood. Then with time (in some cases) things can change. Speak to you more soon. UTG ! OK, fair enough, a shame that the formal Q&A session that took place as a direct result of your group, went ahead without a single one of your questions being addressed and without you being warned in advance that you were going to be ignored. So, what work will you be asking people to do that couldn't be done within the existing SC structure?

I think that it's very positive that such a meeting took place. Well done for organising and credit to directors for attending.
I don't feel "excluded" at all as I am sure that I would agree with 90% of the questions that were raised.
Can we not have a short summary of issues / actions that were discussed? Who were the directors that attended?

Hardly anyone agreed with what the welly 3 wanted to do anyway. They wanted us to all provide our names and addresses to the club in a petition of the angry. It was John , Rick and Chewbakka on here that had all the good ideas and drove the meeting. Therefore i hope any meeting was a personal one Personally i thought the three on the top table at The Wellie meetings did a good job just to organise it. Yes, there were some great contributions from others including the three you mention. But, you're wrong saying hardly anyone agreed with Jon, Mark or Bernard. I assume you're just speaking for yourself. The three things i recall from the meeting were a petition (didn't happen) , a protest back turning (didnt happen) and for everyone to ask the list of questions issued at the q and A didn't happen) Marks a very good spokesman however. Its a shame it wasnt done in a more open way or they could have taken a few of the others i mentioned along too.

Who cares? As long as Chris Jelf and Ed Ware have an appreciation of the burning issues and are genuinely committed to change.
Some of you are sounding like the Scottish nationalists - victims of an aloof BRISA elite!!

This will be my one and only comment about this meeting.
I was initially invited and then uninvited and I'll let Mark explain why that came about.
As someone who has been critical of others regarding matters of accountability and transparency, attending a private meeting was an error of judgement on my part, but my motives were to once unite supporters so we could all move forward together, as I believe are those of the so called 'Welly Group.'

I congratulate who ever met with directors and put forward the views of the ordinary fan, any means to get the message through is helpful.

Can i make an assumption, that you were uninvited because you were actually going to ask some challenging questions ?

One Question ??
Why all the secrecy ??
it will only cause more issues, people will start to believe there is a hidden agenda

Yes it is all true. the Wellie Group leaders and BRISA representatives were all present in a discussion/ Q and A meeting with the said Directors. This was a follow up to The Q & A event back in July where unfortunately, the questions of The Wellie Group ( all of you who helped to decide on the questions)did not get to these questions asked. We requested a small group meeting because as many of you who attended previous events know - big groups of supporters resulted in a flood of questions and no time for any in depth answers. Of course the fault of the organisers than any Gashead. This happened last night as well as a discussion on developments at Rovers and talks about how to get Rovers supporters involved in helping/supporting the club ( in activites like the group who have been helping to generate ideas/ merchandise for the club shop etc. We managed to ask many questions and get answers. We also discussed the possiblity of forming these cooperation groups. We agreed meeting was more than worthwhile although we have no earth shattering news to report. We will hopefully reveal some information to you soon. Please be patient. There is also the strong possibility as I have stated of getting more of you involved in working more closely with the club and this opportunity could/should come when we arrange an open invite to all Gasheads to come along and discuss/find out what they can get involved in/ what they can offer skill sets/ or offering their free time and enthusiasm. Hopefully, this could be around end of October. As I said we will report more soon. I really dont understand why people are still moaning and thinking of conspiracy theories. Its been explained above why there wasnt an open invitation. Why are people making a big deal out of it. Its simple, lots of questions were made up to ask the board at the Q&A which didnt get asked because of time constraints and because there was so many questions that answers were short which as a result raised a lot of follow up questions. So a small meeting with the appropriate people was set up and the questions that was not asked at the Q&A was put to the board members and im sure more questions were raised due to the ongonings since the Q&A. If last nights meeting was an open meeting for everyone then I doubt hardly any questions would have been asked - yet again. This meeting gave those from BRISA and the Welly 3 the chance to speak which they didnt get at the Q&A. I really dont get the issue here. I think its a case of people moaning for the sake of it here. I understand why this thread started but as Mark has stated the FULL details above, why people want to still moan I dont know. I think a few need to get a girlfriend or something.

No conspiracy from me, i just find it odd that if independent groups were meeting up in the shape of their leaders. Why not say to your 'membership' especially if it is to answer the questions that were raised not answered.
That said, glad somethng has happened and lets see if any positives come from it

I think you are more agitated than anyone else to be fair. The group was ignored at the Q&A, not the questions. I can't wait for the summary from Marc, it's going to be dynamite. All of those answers Higgs gave 20Man which didn't seem to make a huge amount of sense will have been explored in detail. Shame that Rick was excluded, but again, I'm sure that Marc can explain that. I don't go along with the post from One F in Dunford, there would be no point whatsoever in a group whose entire Raison D'etre is to ask the questions that the supporters want answers to, stepping back and cowing down when the first difficult topic is raised.

Here is a little more background to the circumstances of the meeting:
Following our two meetings at the Wellie we had put together some questions which we had been assured would be answered at the Nick Higgs' Q & A. We know that none of our specific questions were answered, though of course other answers covered some of the topics. After the meeting I spoke with Chris Jelf and he suggested that I rang him and that we meet up. It took a while to arrange this but eventually we arranged to meet last night. I asked Jon and Bernard to come along, but unfortunately Jon was unable to make it. I thought it a good idea to also ask Richard and Tom from BRISA and they also attended. We were surprised when Ed Ware also turned up. We spoke for about a couple of hours, and we put before them all the concerns raised at our meetings. They were hardly surprised by anything we said. They appeared to be very frank and open. The difficulty is that they often spoke from a personal viewpoint. The best thing to say is that Chris Jelf offered to attend any meeting we should arrange. It then might be a good idea to arrange an open meeting later on in October. The Wellie marquee has gone, so we will look for another venue.
We can only stress that they are now fully aware of our concerns and we should go full steam ahead for an open meeting when people can talk directly to them. As I mentioned previously this can potentially be end of October. It is also possible that other directors will come. I hope all of you will welcome this. A chance to continue putting pressure on the board where that's necessary, opportunities to ask questions and hear what the board are currently doing, and as I also mentioned the POSSIBILITY of forming help groups ( nobody HAS TO get involved if you feel the club is not responding to us appropriately.
Finally, I wish to stress that we have been honest in our activities. We only felt (our own idea) that THIS time a smaller group would finally enable THE Wellie GRoup and BRISA to get their concerns over to the club. Even in this small group it was sometimes a struggle to get our views across. I personally would say that I wish they would LISTEN more/allow us time to ask questions/follow -up ones too, during these events/meetings rather than persuing their agenda for conversation, but I can say it was a helpful evening. I hope October's will be even better and also well-attended open to SC members /non-members alike !!

This all seems a bit strange but I will only ask one question.
Why wasn't either of the Fans Directors at a meeting between Fans and Directors?

I think Kim's comment was based on the thought that they ought to be collecting and channelling fans' views, so it's eyebrow raising that other Directors - and the fans concerned - are by-passing them and talking directly. it's also telling that you seem to assume that KM and BSS would be at such a meeting as fans, not Directors.

So, it was a positive meeting and Chris Jelf remains open to meeting anyone in the future - individual, small group or large group. That's the Chis Jelf I remember form the Presidents Club in the early 90s.
Let's be positive that there are "emerging directors" with the common touch.
Jelf for Chairman post Sainsbury's fall-out. He gets it!
