Crawley Town boss Rob Elliot makes bravery point as Red Devils prepare for Bristol Rovers trip..By Daniel Hargraves
i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9714790.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_GettyImages-2181215949.jpg Crawley Town manager Rob ElliotCrawley Town manager Rob Elliot has called for bravery from his side when they visit Bristol Rovers this weekend with the new Red Devils boss labelling the Mem as a tough place to go. It's been an eventful reintroduction to life back in League One for the Sussex outfit who are playing third tier football for the first time since 2015 after their League Two play-off victory last season. Previous manager Scott Lindsay, who led the Reds to promotion, departed in September for League Two side MK Dons with former Gateshead manager and Newcastle United goalkeeper Elliot taking over at the Broadfield Stadium. Crawley currently occupy the final relegation spot with 12 points from 15 matches, however they recently recorded impressive home results over Huddersfield Town and Lincoln City, drawing 2-2 and winning 3-0 respectively. Like Rovers, the Red Devils have picked up just four points on the road so far this season and Elliot has admitted he wants to see more from his team away from home while expecting a brilliant atmosphere in BS7. “It’s going to be a tough game, it’s a brilliant atmosphere down there," the Crawley manager declared, as quoted by Sussex World. "They’re a very good team, very robust, very physical but also can play. “I think the challenge for us is to go to these places now with the confidence we’ve built in the last few games and make sure we have that mentality to know to get any points away from home at this level is tough. “We need to go there and really imprint ourselves on the game in terms of our mentality and our bravery on the ball but also our bravery out of possession, keeping a good line, be more aggressive higher up, and just keep improving the things we’ve improved on. “We need to get better from set pieces, because at this level it is such a big thing, but what has been good is our defensive line and shape from in-play is getting better and better, and we need to make sure we not only continue with that but get more aggressive with it.” On the Mem itself, the 38-year-old added: "It has a really good atmosphere, when it gets going it gets going well, it’s a big club supported well. I played there a few times and it is always a really good place to play. “On the flip side is that these are the games you want to go to. The step up in going to some of the away grounds you go to is big crowds, big clubs, good atmospheres and I think the lads thrive on that. “I want us to go there and attack the game, make sure when the game finishes after 90 minutes we’ve given absolutely everything.”

Bristol Rovers team news ahead of Crawley as Gas face right-back shortage amid fresh issues..By Daniel Hargraves
i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9716008.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_JS350179984.jpg Lino Sousa is set to miss at least a month of action for Bristol RoversBristol Rovers are set to face a shortage of options at right-back for their League One game at home to Crawley Town on Saturday amid fresh injury concerns as well as a suspension in the camp. As previously reported, Taylor Moore will miss this weekend's game through suspension after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Lincoln City last weekend. Meanwhile, Aston Villa loanee Lino Sousa has picked up a hamstring injury which will keep him out for at least a month. Although Sousa isn't naturally a right-back, the left-back has played on the opposite side of defence before for Rovers and was an obvious choice to replace Moore who has been slotted in there, also out of position, amid Jack Hunt's recent injury concern. It sounds as though Hunt once again won't be available while long-term absentee Joel Senior isn't expected to be deemed ready to return until later this month if not in early December. Speaking ahead of this weekend's match, Matt Taylor revealed: "We've actually lost Lino this week. He's damaged his hamstring. A minimum of a month [out]. It's just a hamstring. small tear in training. Pitches are changing a little bit. [It] wasn't from a running mechanism, just a slip, which is strange for a muscle injury. But yeah, it's a shame because you want everyone fit and available but that happens
"There's still Joel Senior and Gats [Gatlin O'Donkor] who are maybe a week, two weeks away, 10 days away," Taylor added. "So they're getting closer. Obviously, Hunty and Lino and one or two others we've got issues with.
"Taylor Moore is suspended this weekend, so probably on the back of a, what we felt on the back of Reading, another positive performance last weekend. Suspension not ideal but that's part and parcel of it. It's why you have a squad of players, it's why you have more than 10 outfields and 11 players in terms of availability."
In slightly more positive news, there is a possibility that Promise Omochere will be deemed ready to return three weeks after suffering an ankle injury against Reading while there's also hope that Luke Thomas could feature having missed the Lincoln draw with a groin issue.
Omochere didn't make the game last weekend given that he was still feeling pain and discomfort in the ankle joint but, with Ruel Sotiriou away on international duty with Cyprus, the Gas could really do with having another forward option available.
Meanwhile, Thomas featured in a behind closed doors friendly earlier this week and, although he has found himself out of the side of late, the winger would still be an excellent asset to have in contention, be that from the start or bench.
"We're taking Promise day by day," Taylor declared. "So, like going into last week, we'll make a late decision on that one. He's been outside in a team capacity today, which is a good sign. So we'll monitor that one in the next 24, 48 hours.
"He can still feel something. It's where the pain threshold is but also, when he's trained, maybe last week, there were moments where there was a collision or a slip and it opened up the ankle joint again. So you can't go into a game thinking one moment like that pushes it back another week or so.
"But the decision not to involve him last weekend and, not deload him, but just do individual style work at the start of this week has allowed him to train to a certain capacity today. Now, Thursday, Friday is very minimal in terms of opposition aspects. So we'll make a decision, but I'd say he's got a better chance than he did this stage last week. So we're hopeful in relation to that, but we'll only know after tomorrow."
On Thomas, the Rovers manager added: "He's done a little bit. He featured in the game on Tuesday so that initial groin doesn't seem to be too serious. He's still feeling something in there or in around that area so every day we're just wary of what that will bring but he could be available as well."

Is this the actual match thread?
It’s live on Sky isn’t it? Usually means hard for Gas outside the UK to watch, if I understand correctly.

Ello Gas everywhere..
What do you do with your Creepy Crawley's? Some squish them..*
To carry on our decent form, that's what we should be looking to do here at the Mem today in our last Saturday match in November here, before the run up to Xmas.
I'll be looking for a dominant performance and some players who's form indifferent a chance to step up against on paper inferior opposition that can pose problems of their own.
A clean sheet would be desirable to give confidence. A wealth of goals would be nice, but I'll settle just enough for us to claim 3points.
If MT doesn't do his Rubik's cube twist of subs - usually around 69 minutes - confusing the flip flops out of everyone, we can hopefully see the game out for another Gas home win and create a statistical fortress here..
Gas win 2-0. Bilongo and Lindsay. 7000 happy Gas. ....and, a different new starting watering hole today at 11am. Oooooo exciting!
Enjoy your day your way.. UptheGas!

Crawley 21st should be a cert, but this is Bristol Rovers. 2 draws and one win in the last 6 but win was against Lincoln. I believe we should win 2-0 but expect it to be a nervy 2-1 win.

Rovers started with a hiss and a roar for the first 10 mins, hitting the crossbar twice.
The game has gone off the boil now but Rovers still edging it.

Could be 4 or 5 up. Playing well.
Keep it up ( as the actress said to the Bishop ) and the 3 points should be ours.

Crawley must spend most of their training sessions on footballs dark arts
They're masters of the dramatic fall, holding their heads together with bone chilling screams.
An element of the "modern game" I despise.

Hutchinson off for Sinclair. Seems a tad unfair on Hutchinson, he's had a good game.
