Are anybody on this forum devoid of adding to a matchday thread......keep everyone updated for those not able to attend? Shame on you...I thought this would be great but your all showing no real passion to share with other forum members Sort yourself out ffs Big games apart, matchday threads have never been a massive thing here with updates and comments generally limited to goals or significant events. Not sure why, maybe most of the forums major contributors actually go to games. :-O Today's game was a classic example of a game with little to talk about. Thanks for letting me know that 😉

The best header of a ball i have seen in a BRFC shirt since 1981 is Archie Stephens...127 games and 40 goals for the Gas. An interview he gave when he was at Middlesborough, a few snippets from his days with us, at the link below diasboro.club/2018/02/27/in2views-archie-stephens/

Geoff, is the most successful player in the history of BRFC, and still holds the club records for most goals scored in a season (33) and most career league goals (242). Over the course of his 15-year career with Rovers he played a total of 626 competitive matches, including 14 representative matches, 10 Western League games and 73 reserve team games, scoring a total of 355 goals, which included 24 hat-tricks and goals in 15 consecutive seasons. He also played in every outfield position for the club, and remains the only player to represent England while on the books of Bristol Rovers. That thread; where will BRFC be in 2030? . . . you should have seen them in the1950's... we would shout: #UpTheROVERS

Geoff with shirt tucked into shorts, clean shaved, brylcreemed hair, socks and big cumbersome black boots, flying through the air, old photos are the best. Just imagine turning down Bill Shankly to go to Liverpool in 1961 on the cusp of all that history to come over the following 30 years. Geoff scored on his debut for England v Denmark in his one and only game, just like the very prolific Brian Clough only played in 2 England games.

There's a thread on here banging on about how the club is being run. When Geoff's career was coming to an end, he received a letter in the post from the Club saying his services were no longer required, and that he was being given a free transfer. Meanwhile, over at the other place John Atyeo was being offered a place on the Board #UpTheROVERS … we would shout

JA had a stand named after him, did GB.?..our greatest ever player should have had a statue outside Eastville and moved with us all to the Mem. These two great players died within a year of each other, JA scored 351 goals in 645 games for bcfc, GB scored 355 goals in 626 games, very similar stats.

Did I mention that Geoff also scored 12 career hat tricks. The interest in an interesting time of BRFC is realising an enormous amount of disinterest.
