Tough match against an in form, expected to play off ex championship club.
A challenge v DC again. Much mutual affection.
I would settle for a draw now, but unfortunately can see a narrow home win.
2-1 Barnsley. Long way for nothing. Hate losing, but can take it from DC.
Admiration from afar, like looking at an ex you had affection for but thinking you could aspire for more..... let's hope for a 3 point haul.
Safe travels everyone.... UptheGas!

Agreed, will be a tough one today and probably a home win but... I think this squad will eventually start surprising a few in this league so why not today? 1-1 for me. UTG

Bookies unsurprisingly agree... pricing it: Barnsley 4-6 Draw 3-1 Gas 4-1 Not been back to Barnsley since the 1999 4-1 FA Cup defeat. Fairly unlikely to return. It was indeed grim up t'north.

I’m afraid it may be a battling and unlucky 1-0 home win. But as I’ve said before I hope Jeff is right. 👍

Weather better up north than a very soggy Devon so enjoy your day Gasheads.

We have played Dikie Bird's favourite team 36 times, W12, D11 & L13, Biggest win 0-4, Loss 1-5 and there was a 3-3 draw at home in august 1969. Barnsley are known as The Reds, The Tykes or The Colliers, they have played at Oakwell since 1887 and has a capacity of 23,287. Darell Clarke of course is a BRFC legend and his record for the Gas is: Played 246, W104, D56, L86 = 42.3 % Win rate. Barnsley supporters named fellow Yorkshire clubs Sheffield Wed, Sheffield Utd & Leeds Utd with lesser rivals Huddersfield Town and Rotherham United. Notable managers out of about 50 were: Arthur Fairclough, Angus Seed, Allan Clarke and Danny Wilson among 50 managers in their history. Record league win and defeat are both 9-0, Appearance record is Barry Murphy with 569 & record goalscorer is Ernie Hine with 131. Barnsley are currently in 7th place and the mighty BRFC are in 9th, head on block, we will win 1-2. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/c/c9/Barnsley_FC.svg/175px-Barnsley_FC.svg.png V upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/4/47/Bristol_Rovers_F.C._logo.svg/200px-Bristol_Rovers_F.C._logo.svg.png

An away win today is unthinkable, except, with each day, I am starting to feel that we do have what it takes….it may be short lived, but COYB!…..

Also the team Michael Parkinson loved so much. I forget the player who he said if he found him in bed with his wife he would bring them both a cup of tea...

Oh look. Is that McCormick straight into the Conteh role? You know what I mean Harry?

Oh look. Is that McCormick straight into the Conteh role? You know what I mean Harry? Is that where he'll play Emporor? Or will he play alongside Ward with Garrick playing the deeper role. I imagine all 3 will be pretty deep.

Obviously a very tough fixture.
Our determination to defend is vital, how we play without Conteh too.
It seems we pose more of a forward threat now.
Barnsley away is a different kettle of fish to Cambridge at the Mem.
Discipline, fight and take a chance or two.
Come on Rovers!

KO delayed due to groundsman ****up.
Could've had an extra 10 mins in bed.

Chops got a free header from a corner. Should have scored - poor defending Gas
