Big investment opportunities. This bit is telling though, what can we offer to incentivise investors? "The boss of drugs giant Eli Lilly, David Ricks, is one of the business leaders attending the summit. The company announced on Monday that it anticipated making an additional £279m in new investment into the UK, including studies into tackling obesity. Speaking to the BBC's Today programme, Mr Ricks said that the UK had to take a new approach now that is was no longer part of the EU. "I think the difference in the UK is - separate from Europe - it’s a relatively small market for most multinationals and certainly for Americans, so something needs to be quite different to make it interesting," said." www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c3e9yk24w3eo

The Telegraph screaming headline - Starmer removes paintings of Queen Elizabeth I and Sir Walter Raleigh from No 10
www.msn.com/en-gb/travel/news/starmer-removes-paintings-of-queen-elizabeth-i-and-sir-walter-raleigh-from-no-10/ar-AA1sc0m7?ocid=msedgntp&pc=W037&cvid=ec722c90a6de4408b5f15685542a2b95&ei=19
Early paragraph - Sir Keir Starmer has taken down portraits of Elizabeth I and Sir Walter Raleigh that were on display in Downing Street, The Telegraph can reveal. The paintings of the last Tudor monarch and the famous explorer of the Americas were previously on the walls of a room used for prime ministerial meetings with world leaders. It comes after Sir Keir faced critism [sic] when it emerged he had also removed portraits of William Ewart Gladstone and Margaret Thatcher.Truth later in the article, nothing to do with him! On Sunday night, Downing Street said the changes to the artwork had actually been drawn up under the previous government. A spokesman said: “The change of artwork is long planned, since before the election, and is timed to mark 125 years of the Government Art Collection.”
But back to the illusion - Sir Keir’s decision to replace the portraits of Elizabeth I and Raleigh drew criticism from his political opponents on Sunday. Robert Jenrick, the Conservative leadership hopeful, said: “Elizabeth I was one of our most iconic female leaders. She’s a hero I love to talk to my daughters about.
Someone tell Bobby his mob decreed it! Just like Cleverly and Chagos. Deny you had anything to do with the decisions. The headline readers who get no further than paragraph one will be having apoplexy. Yet the truth is far from obvious. The pearl clutching Home Counties set will see it as another attack by the left on the nation. If this is the best that the non dom billionaire owned propagandists can come up with, no wonder this country is screwed. Next up - Telegraph - Will Keir Starmer kill the cathedral choir? Labour’s VAT raid on private schools could destroy a 1,000-year legacy of priceless choral education – it would be a crime against culture Truth back in 2020 - www.spectator.co.uk/article/westminster-cathedral-s-musical-heritage-is-under-threat/ True, something I alluded to a bit ago. Both Conservatives and Labour refused to sanction a loan to Harland and Wolff in Belfast this year, it now looks like it'll go and be bought out by a Spanish ship builder, together with it's subsidiaries in Devon and Scotland. Cue headlines about Starmer allowing warships to be built by (or even in!!) Spain. We keep telling you, time and time again....two cheeks of the same arse. Same old parties, same old policies, same old outcome.

A total non-story which is indicative of the MSM in the UK. Yes, I do believe the VAT on Private Education is appalling. It wouldn't be allowed in the EU ! Just saying.

So it appears the government have signed up for at least a further 8 years of channel crossings if illegal immigrants. Smash the gangs is going well.
Also looks like the guy who made death threat to Nigel Farage is now in the UK and his latest video shows he is potentially in Bournemouth. That's reassuring my parents live there and I'm off in November to visit them.

Nope it'll be the ECHR who will grant him asylum in the UK.

France you will be pleased to hear though that, unlike the Tories with Rwanda [£700 million], the new Government can cancel the contract if boat crossings start to fall. Sensible contracting.

Sir Keir Starmer has not ruled out a National Insurance increase for employers in the Budget, in a BBC Breakfast interview.i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/10/14/08/90817819-13956651-image-a-1_1728890952487.jpgThe Labour Party's 2024 manifesto rules out raising National Insurance, income tax and VAT. But Sir Keir side-stepped questions whether Labour’s promise not to raise taxes for "working people" covered employers' National Insurance (NI). Speaking in Downing Street, Sir Keir said this month's Budget was "going to be tough" but would "focus on rebuilding our country". Employers currently pay NI at a rate of 13.8% on all employees' earnings above £175 per week. Speculation has been growing that the rate of NI paid by employers could go up next month to fill a £22bn "black hole" Labour says it has found in the nations finances. On Monday, Rachel Reeves said Labour's election pledge not to increase NI on "working people" related to the employee element, as opposed to the sum paid by employers.

I'm just watching PMQ's for the first time in ages. Starmer is so bad it's unreal. Shame he's not as flamboyant and lying as Johnson, as afraid of UKIP [now read Reform] as Cameron, as tetchy as Theresa May, or as focussed on improving his family's wealth as Sunak. We each see what we want to see. Also the economy is improving , inflation down, the potential for rates to be cut, and the UK Infrastructure Bank will operate as the National Wealth Fund (NWF), with its headquarters in Leeds to encourage investment... The lead news on Sky, Starmer meets Taylor Swift..... the propaganda machine keeps turning with absolutely no interest in the economy of the UK or its citizens. It's embarrassing now.

Because previous characterful PMs have been so good. 🤔 I haven't mentioned his character. I am just saying have you watched him? His answer's are comedic. He looks like the proverbial rabbit caught in the headlights when he has to answer. His eyes are darting around everywhere. He's totally unconvincing. Plus, we are not talking about previous PM's, just the current one. Nice attempt's at deflection by yourself and Terry though.

I see someone with a lawyers background who thinks calmly and thoughtfully about the question and his response. Someone who doesn't bulls**t or lie or make vague statements, like some current MPs as we aren't allowed to compare him to the past. Someone who knows what is being said is on the record and whose statements will stand the test of time. What are you looking for Nobby, a grifter, someone who bulls**ts, lies or acts like a clown? Plenty on the opposite benches.

Not trying to deflect, but to critique someone you first have to have something to benchmark that against.

Inflation figures are out. September tends to feed into state benefits for the following April adjustments.
At the moment, the Triple Lock will see State pensions rise 4.1% while other benefits are likely to rise by 1.7%.
Confirmation should be in the Budget.

Especially the part about Starmer doesn't bulls**t, lie or make vague statements....my sides are splitting 😂😂😂😂
