Apparently we're in for Walsall midfielder Isaac Hutchinson.
He looks decent.
Quite likely a replacement for Pompey bound Evans?

It’s a bit like the Hokey Cokey in out in out check the wages out then tell them to eff off and sign for someone else. So much for Mr Mediocre's ‘getting’ already identified signings in early to ensure a full preseason fitness blast. First preseason game less than a fortnight away should focus a few minds.

I don't reckon the new owners are actually letting anyone spend any money, I'm pretty sure they're getting cold feet already and either won't be around long at all, or will end up leaving us in a right mess without a ground or something.

Isaac Hutchinson's first words as Walsall midfielder becomes Bristol Rovers' first summer signing..By Daniel Hargraves.i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9363868.ece/ALTERNATES/s1176b/0_ISAAC-9.jpgIsaac Hutchinson has stated that everything at Bristol Rovers is "positioned around moving forwards" after the 24-year-old midfielder became the Gas' first signing of the summer transfer window. Joining on a three-year deal with the option of a further season from Walsall, Hutchinson is an exciting addition to Matt Taylor's squad after the midfielder registered 27 goal contributions in 53 appearances for the Saddlers last season. The 24-year-old also featured in all 46 of their League Two matches. Over the course of two seasons, the 24-year-old has made 106 appearances for Walsall and in that time has scored 23 goals and registered 19 assists and is evidently relishing the challenge to make the step up to League One. “I am really happy to be here at Bristol Rovers,” Hutchinson told Rovers' club media. “I’ve had really good conversations with the manager and everyone at the club, and I’m delighted to join. “I’ve always known Bristol Rovers is a big club. I’ve played at the Memorial Stadium before and the home fans always create an incredible atmosphere. Things like that, as well as the conversations I’ve had, have made it clear to me that the club is moving upwards. “Everything here is positioned around moving forwards, improving across the board, and it’s exciting to join the club and be a part of it.” A product of the Brighton and Hove Albion youth system, the Eastbourne-born playmaker joined Walsall from Derby County in 2022 where he made four senior appearances for the Rams. He also spent some time in the south west playing on loan at Forest Green Rovers in the second half of the 2020/21 season. Hutchinson also had a loan spell at Crawley Town the following campaign before swapping the East Midlands for the West permanently two summers ago. Regarding a fee, it is still unclear what Rovers will have paid the Saddlers for Hutchinson's services but the midfielder still had a year left on his deal at the Bescot Stadium. The 24-year-old is expected to be the first of a number of signings at the Mem this summer with Taylor looking to mould his squad in his own image, particularly after the departure of 13 players at the end of last season. On the capture of the highly-rated midfielder, the Rovers manager said: “We are delighted to bring Isaac to Bristol Rovers. Isaac has proven his ability over the last two seasons with Walsall and, at 24, has even further he can go in terms of his development. “Isaac will bring even more energy and passion to our midfield and I am looking forward to working closely with him in the coming season and beyond.”

Bristol Rovers transfer target Cameron Dawson joins League One rivals as proposed Gas switch falls through..By Daniel Hargravesi2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9365328.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_GettyImages-1890716643.jpgBristol Rovers transfer target Cameron Dawson has joined Rotherham United instead of the Gas despite being close to agreeing a switch to BS7. The Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper had agreed personal terms but Bristol Live understands that delays in getting the deal over the line has culminated in the 28-year-old pursuing an alternative option in League One. Sheffield-born Dawson won't be relocating far as he departs Wednesday permanently after 12 years at the club and 129 first team appearances whereas he would've been moving around 200 miles south had he joined Rovers. But a move to the Mem would have reunited Dawson with manager Matt Taylor, who he had worked under on loan at Exeter City two seasons prior. Jed Ward and Matt Hall are the Gas' current goalkeeping options with the former ending enjoying an outstanding vein of form in the second half of last season in what was the academy product's first run of games in the first team. The youngster also earned his first two caps for England under-20s earlier this month. However, both Ward and Hall are only 21 with the latter still yet to make his senior debut and, given that Rovers were in for Dawson, it appears as though Taylor is keen to bring in a more experienced goalkeeper.

Rovers sign Clinton Mola ,a defender from Reading.
Played 30 third tier games for them.
Started at Chelsea ,played at Stuttgart in German second tier and Blackburn Rovers.
Hopefully he's hungry for first team football,I say that as he seems to be going down the divisions, sort of.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clinton_MolaLooks a decent prospect and only 23. Seems to have lost his way somewhere along the lines. Seems to be a player who , if guided well, could turn into a possible target if/when he gets firing again. Well done Rovers. No lomgterm injury history either

Rovers apparently interested in Cypriot Leyton Orient striker Ruel Sotiriou. 24 years old.
Looks a busy forward, competes for the ball, but did'nt notice heading ability. Can pass.Gets in the danger area and can be a sniffer in front of goal.Looks like once he sees a chance he belts,no dithering.I like.
Ruel made his senior international appearance for Cyprus in a friendly against Latvia this year.
'Oh argh he's a Cypriot'!
We need more upfront, he might do well.

Gut feeling is very good about this one. I’m liking the emphasis on youth. Signed on a 3 year deal.

Remember Jeff Hughes? Said he joined because the wages were good in a (witty) comment that he was subsequently crucified for. Stefan Payne's first introduction to us was memorable for all the wrong reasons...didn't look happy to be here, to put it mildly. The most enjoyable is when a known s*ithead supporter joins (who was the last one?), and then has to convince us that they are in fact delighted to be at the club.

Dan Ellison signs a 2 year deal with Rovers. i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9372829.ece/ALTERNATES/s1176b/0_DE-25.jpgReport By Daniel HargravesTeenage defender Dan Ellison has called his move to Bristol Rovers from Chippenham Town "a proud moment" as the centre-back becomes the Gas' fourth signing of the summer. The 19-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the option of a further year with Rovers, joining from the National League South side, for whom the centre-back made 30 appearances last season, scoring four goals. An excellent run of form for the Bluebirds led to Ellison earning his first call-up to the England C squad last month with the youngster featuring in a 2-0 friendly win against Nepal. "I am delighted to have signed for Bristol Rovers,” Ellison told the Gas' club media. ”The manager has outlined his plans for me, which have really fitted into what I wanted for the next stage in my career. That has made joining Bristol Rovers a really easy decision. "This is my first professional contract in football, which is a proud moment for me, and the fact that it has come at such a big, historic and forward-thinking club with such a great fanbase like Rovers makes it even better. I can’t wait to get started and get to work." It is understood that the Gas beat a number of high-profile clubs to the acquisition of the 19-year-old, including Championship outfits Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday, having had a trial period with Rovers towards the end of last season. Bristol Live also understands that the Gas will pay Chippenham a fee of around £10,000 having met a release clause in the defender's contract.

Looks a decent player to me and I don't think he'll need too much acclimatising to 3rd tier football .
