So,at the moment we know we have the following for next season.
James Connolly James Wilson Grant Ward Luke Thomas Connor Taylor Jevani Brown Anthony Evans Jamil Conteh Luke McCormick Jed Ward Mathew Hall Jack Hunt Kofi Shaw Chris Martin Jerry Lawrence.
New deals offered to Scott Sinclair, Jordan Rossitter and Luca Hoole. We wait to see who signs from these 3,hopefully all 3.
In the scenario Jordan Rossitter signs ( 🤞 ),our middle midfield looks done and dusted.Decent.
In the scenario Scott signs,we'll have him on one flank ,with Luke Thomas on the other.Decent.Competition for these positions needed.
We need a tougher defence next season.
In scenario Jed Ward is our GK maybe Mathew Hall might be ready to move up to being our regular reserve GK?
We need maybe 3 more strikers.
I hope all the squad truly buy into Taylors football and it's good enough to get results.

Harry Buckle has informed us Scott Sinclair has re - signed for Rovers.Good news.
Jordan Rossitter has turned down his new offer and unless Rovers make an improved deal, then he'll be gone. Terrible news.JR is our best player.A Conteh Rossitter duo in our middle middle could of been fantastic. Good teams have that kind of partnership .
I don't suppose for one minute Taylor and Friend will find better than Rossitter . It appears an opportunity to sign a very good player,a player that could of been a major influence, has passed Rovers by.

But it’s only a shame if he plays 30+ matches and perhaps the contract offer took that into account. I’d have said after the past two years Rossiter ‘owes us’ but I know it doesn’t work that way now. UTG!

Exclusive: Bristol Rovers among League One clubs interested in former Portsmouth winger..By Daniel Hargraves.i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9269683.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_GettyImages-2053132944.jpgBristol Rovers are interested in AFC Wimbledon forward Ronan Curtis on a free transfer, Bristol Live understands, with the 28-year-old's future at the League Two club yet to be decided. Discussions are ongoing between the winger and the Dons after he joined on a short-term deal in January having been released by Portsmouth last summer. Curtis hadn't played since February 2023 having suffered serious ligament injuries on both knees but impressed for Johnnie Jackson's side in the second half of the League Two campaign. Capped seven times by the Republic of Ireland, the wide man scored five goals and registered two assists in 16 league appearances for the fourth tier outfit as they missed out on the play-offs by five points. However, Gasheads are likely to be more familiar with his contributions at Pompey. Curtis made 226 appearances for the Hampshire club, scoring 57 goals and providing 42 assists over the course of five seasons, all of which at League One level. It is understood that, although Wimbledon are determined to keep the winger in south London as he earned legendary status in the Dons' 1-0 victory over fierce rivals MK Dons by scoring a 94th minute winner, Rovers aren't alone regarding interest from third tier clubs. Prior to his serious knee injury, Curtis had been subject to Championship interest as the winger entered the final year of his contract at Fratton Park but ultimately has had to work his way back into the game on the back of 11 months out of the game. Adding more goals from wide areas will certainly be something Matt Taylor will be keen to do as part of Rovers' recruitment and in Curtis, the Gas would be getting a tricky winger with an excellent record in front of goal at League One level. Pace is another trait the Rovers manager has indicated he would like more of and the Ireland international was certainly known for his speed while at Portsmouth. The Gas were able to get seven goals and nine assists out of Luke Thomas this season while they're still awaiting a decision from Sinclair, although there is quiet confidence that the veteran forward will sign. However, they're losing depth provided by Chelsea and Hull City loanees Harvey Vale and Harry Vaughan as they return to their parent clubs, making it an area of the pitch that is in need of fresh faces.

Perhaps that is why I am losing interest in football as a whole. Football as I know it is the 70s and 80s. The diving, cheating, and in a lot of cases boring, soulless football we have today is very far from what I enjoyed as a teenager and growing adult. Today is about business, earning as much as possible in as short a time as possible, and moving where the lucre leads. Our club, our players, our manager and our team is a million miles away from what we know as 'The Gas' 1990, and all those days!

And he is a class act esp for League 1 so I’d have taken the risk. But I’m not paying! It looks like we wanted to keep him but not at any price. Perhaps he’s just had enough of living away from family. I guess we’ll never know what’s gone on and so far it’s only rumours as to what may happen. Let’s hope he stays. UTG!

All the above mentioned players could do well with the right culture, manager and environment. They could equally fail if there is the wrong culture, manager and environment.

I also think Tshimanga from Posh (ex Chesterfield) has been let go. His form has fallen off a cliff after a good time at Chesterfield. Did his injury affect him? UTG!

Forgot/Missed Shaun Rooney at Fleetwood. Very decent RB.
Could consider trials for John Bostock, formerly of Notts Cheaty, and Harry Pell.

There's an awful lot of doom and gloom on the various Rovers fans groups re our chances next season.
Way to early to make any predictions I know but I can't deny the gloominess is a little infectious.
Hopefully it's just the end of season blues kicking in after a tedious, frustrating and unexciting 23/24 season.

Agree, I am putting my trust in MT & GF to build a side to challenge for the play-offs at least, i am an optimist by nature... The season has gone, MT knows what he has to do, we will all have to wait and see what the summer brings. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/4/47/Bristol_Rovers_F.C._logo.svg/200px-Bristol_Rovers_F.C._logo.svg.png

Apparently Rovers are interested in Miguel Freckleton,a left sided CH that was formerly at Rovers youth set up.He had about 15 games for the Spireites in their successful 5th tier campaign. Was at Sheffield United, but his two year deal is soon to run out. There are other FCs interested in Miguel and I'll be a little surprised if he chooses Rovers.
Also,Bristol Live say Messrs Rossitter, Sinclair and Hoole are still yet to answer the question "shall I stay or shall I go?"

Billt Bodin is leaving Oxford United he netted 25 goals in 107 games during a three-year spell with United, having joined as a free agent from Preston North End.
He scored nine goals in 41 games this season, with his last strike being the audacious lob in the 5-0 victory against Peterborough United last month, an effort that was shortlisted for the League One goal of the month. Now 32 would Taylor want another experienced midfielder as it seems Rossiter may be looking to return to the North West.

Wombles player Ronan Curtis was apparently a target for us,but he's decided to sign for 4th tier Port Vale.
I think Vale gave him a 3 year deal,a longer contract than Rovers were prepared to put on the table.
Vale must feel his bad injuries are behind him.
