Obviously, FM database isn’t definitive, cannot settle every argument, but if you had to choose just one that Rovers need right now to make a challenge this season… Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Fankaty Dabo missed the penalty in the Championship Play-Off Final shoot out last season ... now finds himself in the 4th Tier.

Probably the first time in transfer deadline history that Rovers have had a level of genuine interest.

Imo a waste of money and effort.....why then is he not wanted by a similar championship club, speaks volumes in itself....

Well, I am excited about the second coming of King Jonno. And ridintothedawn excited about Collins.
NOW IMAGINE THEM BRINGING THE BEST OUT OF EACH OTHER.
Collins Nichols to Jonno’s… Jonno.

£800k seems good value when compared to the combined £800k spent on Tom Nicholls, Bernard Mensah, Stephan Payne and Martin Cameron.

How come no one in the football league wanted Devon White? Martyn? Saunders? Alexander? have you forgotten how surreally brilliant Jonno was in a Rovers shirt?

Barton has to avoid failing spectacularly now. His man management skills will be under scrutiny. Let’s hope Andy Mangan can teach JCH a thing or two about forward play

Paperwork signed, in the Secretary's In-Tray to fax to the FA ... oh, hang on.

And how much on Josh Barrel? Exactly. Barton now has to avoid failing spectacularly now. His man management skills will be under scrutiny. Let’s hope Andy Mangan can teach JCH a thing or two about forward play Well Barton clearly wanted him here, and Jono clearly wanted to be here, so that’s a good start. When Jono was last here, he praised Nichols for the tireless running opening things up for himself. This is how football works isn’t it? We know Jono strength is his strength, target man, back to goal, hold up play, rideintothesun waxed lyrical about Collins can create and score goals at this level, so better than Nichols, but it’s how playing both players in a partnership finds that they are complimenting each other, bringing the best from each other. History of football built on this theory - smash and grab, Bruno and Penny, Lambert & Walker (not a packet of cigarettes).

I am genuinely gutted. 😭 however league can look at the circumstances for it not getting through on time, and if you have a convincing argument they can let the deal stand. there are bound to be repercussions of a failed transfer of this magnitude. Did we give a free transfer to loft on basis we had one in? Will manager be angry? Will it deflate morale, everyone thinking we don’t now have enough firepower up front to challenge? Were posh truly serious about selling to us? If so what did we only promise at the tenth hour that made the difference?

I’m sat on the fence over this. I was ok with the return of Jonno but I always have reservations about 2nd timers, particularly strikers. For me the plus points are now ; 1) we have serious cash to spend for the first time in a long long time. 2) We are showing real intent on getting out of L1 this, or next season. With Jonno at 27 we were obviously looking for him to help catapult us to the top, rather than a future investment. I hope this does not backfire on morale, and hope that the deal not being concluded was an error of Rovers admin, and hope that letting Loft go does not leave us short up top and scrambling for replacements. A lot of hopes!.
