Kylian Mbappe : Al Hilal 'make £259m offer' for PSG and France forward..
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/4B00/production/_130500291_mbappe-main.jpgKylian Mbappe has won five league titles at PSG and one at Monacoichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2023/7/24/3ded7df9-b491-4832-a329-c4d996c05a34.jpgSaudi Arabian side Al Hilal have made a world record £259m bid for Paris St-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, reports the Press Association. The 24-year-old France captain, who has a year left on his contract, has refused to sign an extension at the French champions and was not part of the pre-season tour to Japan. PSG want to sell Mbappe now rather than let him leave for free next summer. Neymar's £200m move from Barcelona to PSG in 2017 is the current record. PSG activated the Brazil international's release clause in 2017 to make him the most expensive player in the world. Should he move, Mbappe would command two of the three highest fees paid for a player after joining PSG from Monaco in 2017 for £166m. Mbappe has said he wants to remain with PSG for one more year before leaving when his contact expires. He is widely believed to want to join Real Madrid at the end of this season. Chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has made clear his determination to take a tough stance over the issue, saying it is "impossible" that Mbappe will be allowed to leave for free in 2024. BBC Sport understands a number of clubs have inquired about Mbappe and PSG would be willing to sell this summer. ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2023/7/24/ddfde968-75e8-4e3c-8fbb-dafa4744c05e.jpg

Could Mbappe leave on loan this summer ?ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2023/7/25/025ff6b0-d19d-4f1c-ba33-6963f0cf8998.jpgPSG activated Brazil forward Neymar's release clause to make him the most expensive player in the world. Should he move, Mbappe will have commanded two of the three highest fees paid for a player after joining PSG from Monaco for £166m in 2017. Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, Inter Milan and Barcelona have all expressed an interest in Mbappe, who has previously said he intends to leave PSG for free at the end of next season and is believed to prefer a move to Real Madrid. PSG are open to the idea of Mbappe leaving on loan this summer to see out the final year of his contract elsewhere. This would allow him to join Real Madrid for nothing in 12 months' time, keep playing this season and generate a loan fee for PSG. Mbappe reactsChairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has made clear his determination to take a tough stance and there have been suggestions Mbappe would not be selected for an entire year if he refused to break the present impasse. That eventuality would clearly have a negative impact on his hopes of playing for France at Euro 2024. Al-Hilal are one of the clubs owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. They have already signed Ruben Neves from Wolves and Kalidou Koulibaly from Chelsea this summer. Mbappe has not commented on the bid but responded to a tweet from NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo, who joked: "Al Hilal you can take me. I look like Kylian Mbappe" The Frenchman replied with a series of crying with laughter emojis.

'Real Madrid are the favourite'..Julien Laurens, French football expert on BBC Radio 5 Live.ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2023/7/25/61e9ba08-f9e8-4ab4-b7a8-37dbb6139b26.jpgI admire the offer, I don’t think he’ll go. It’s not about the money for him, he just wants to win every trophy possible. Right now, at 24 years-old, he does not include the Saudi League. We know for example Barcelona yesterday picked up the phone to PSG, and said "we can’t afford any transfer fee for him, we can’t even afford his wages". Kylian Mbappe earns €72m gross a year, but no-one can afford that so he will have to take a pay cut and he's aware of it, but Barcelona said "how about we swap players for Mbappe, who do you want in our squad? Every big club in Europe is going to try to put something together to maybe, firstly, convince PSG to sell to them, and then convince Mbappe to come to them. That could be from Man United, to Liverpool, all the English clubs, maybe in Italy as well, but Real Madrid are the favourite because they have the money, that's where he wants to go. As we've been saying before, they’ve been chasing him since he was 11 years-old. But are they ready to pay the €150m that PSG would want, instead of waiting and getting him or nothing in 12 months time? Well they don't want to take the risk that in a years time, and they get into a bidding war. If they sign him now then their team gets a lot better right now. Wait if you have the money? It's just a matter of when, they are the huge favourite to land him this summer.

UK football writer Alison Bender, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live about the Kylian Mbappe bid: "Numbers now in football don’t surprise me especially now the Saudi Pro League is involved. I hear the numbers and it is like monopoly money now. ichef.bbci.co.uk/live-experience/cps/624/cpsprodpb/vivo/live/images/2023/7/25/f5614a42-68b1-4c87-bf06-084203098373.jpg"This is a 24-year-old at the peak of his powers. He wants to play for Real Madrid so if he plays in a team like Al Hilal which is not one of the major leagues. His level is bound to drop and that is very sad. "If he really loves football, that would be very sad to see an incredible player levels drop like that. "It is spiralling out of control now and with Saudi Arabia, money is no object, I just don’t think we need to be surprised about the amounts we are talking about anymore. "It is not about money anymore, it is about legitimizing the league if you get a player like Mbappe to your league." ............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... French football journalist Lisa Leroux, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live on why Kylian Mbappe might reject Al-Hilal: "I think he wants to be the best football player, he wants to reach the level that Lionel Messi has reached that Cristiano Ronaldo has reached and play in Europe for the best teams. "No player has ever been offered this salary in football, and I think even in sporting history for one year, it would be about 59 million euros a month, almost two million a day. "I mean the salary that he would be getting would just be historic and out of this world."

Rumours rumble on that the 24-year-old France striker has agreed to join Real Madrid next season on a free transfer when his contract at PSG ends, which has opened up the prospect of a move this summer - either as a loan or on a one-year contract. That way PSG will at least get some money for their record signing and get him out of the club amid fears of potential disruption in the dressing room. Enter Chelsea and Barcelona - according to a story in the Independent, Blues co-owner Todd Boehly wants Mbappe but faces competition from Barca in offering a player-plus-cash deal.

Kylian Mbappe: Paris St-Germain striker will not train with first team amid contract stand-off..By Simon Stone, BBC Sport.
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/B32C/production/_130486854_hi086324441.jpg Kylian Mbappe has won five league titles during his time at PSGKylian Mbappe will not train with the Paris St-Germain first-team squad when they step up preparations on Monday for the start of the Ligue 1 season. Mbappe has been in a contract stand-off with PSG amid a desire to join Real Madrid. The club's all-time leading goalscorer is refusing to sign a year's extension to his contract which ends next summer. PSG therefore want to sell the France forward now and secure a transfer fee rather than let him go for nothing. As a result, Mbappe was left out of PSG's touring squad for their pre-season trip to Asia. He subsequently refused to meet with representatives of Al-Hilal, who made a world record offer to bring him to the Saudi Pro League. PSG begin their French title defence at home to Lorient on Saturday and it is understood Mbappe will train with the 'loft' group rather than the 'A' training group, which is players who could feature for the first team. PSG sources say their most recent attempt to broker a solution to the situation was to offer Mbappe a guaranteed sale clause in his contract for the end of this season. This offer was rejected. After years of underachievement at Champions League level with their 'galactico' model of signing superstar players, PSG are now going down a different path and are understood to be close to completing a deal for Benfica's Goncalo Ramos. The 22-year-old scored a hat-trick for Portugal at last year's World Cup in Qatar and has attracted interest from numerous top European clubs. PSG are expected to pay 80m euros (£69m) for the forward. ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/480/cpsprodpb/650C/production/_130486852_mbappe.jpg

The future of the superstar pair is uncertain as both are linked with moves away, and they were left out of the squad for the season opener. PSG missed prize attackers as they dominated possession but struggled to create significant chances. Defensive midfielder Manuel Ugarte came closest to scoring for the hosts but his strike flew wide in stoppage time. It was not the ideal start for new PSG manager Luis Enrique, who was appointed as Christophe Galtier's replacement in the summer. Also watching on from the stands was France forward Ousmane Dembele, who joined PSG from Barcelona for £43.5m earlier on Saturday. Dembele's international team-mate Mbappe is not training with PSG's first-team squad after informing the club he would not extend his deal with the club beyond next summer. PSG want to sell Mbappe rather than let him leave for free when his deal ends, but the 24-year-old is widely believed to be holding out for a financially lucrative free transfer to Real Madrid next summer. Neymar, meanwhile, has been linked with a return to Barcelona.

Kylian Mbappe: Paris St-Germain forward returns to squad and may sign contract extension..By Simon Stone, BBC Sport.i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2023/08/13/10/74264951-12401981-image-a-76_1691919520870.jpgParis St-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has returned to first-team training and is likely to stay at the French champions this summer. The France forward, 24, had not been training with the first-team squad and was left out of PSG's 0-0 season opener with Lorient on Saturday. He has been in a contract stand-off amid a desire to join Real Madrid but could now extend his contract at PSG. PSG said Mbappe was reinstated after "very constructive and positive" talks. The France captain watched the game on Saturday from the stands with France team-mate Ousmane Dembele, who joined PSG from Barcelona for £43.5m. He was also left out of the pre-season trip to Asia. Mbappe has one year left on his current deal and has so far refused to sign a new contract. Last month, PSG gave Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal permission to talk to the player after making a world-record £259m bid. His reintegration has been arrived at following discussions between all parties in the past 12 hours. PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has been adamant he would not let the striker leave for nothing and it is thought some kind of agreement is likely that will see Mbappe sign the one-year extension to his present deal as originally envisaged. That would run to 2025 and allow PSG to sell Mbappe to Real next summer. "Following very constructive and positive discussions between Paris St-Germain and Kylian Mbappe before the PSG - Lorient game, the player has been reinstated into the first team training squad this morning," PSG said on Sunday. Mbappe, who joined PSG in 2017 initially on loan from Monaco before a 180m euro (£165.7m) transfer, has scored a club record 212 goals in 260 games. ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/240/cpsprodpb/94BE/production/_130787083_mbappe.png

PSG: France forwards Mbappe and Dembele ready to start against Toulouse..

Mbappe, 24, has made a surprise return to the squad after a contract stand-off and could now extend his current deal. Earlier this week Neymar left PSG to joined Saudi Pro league club Al-Hilal, just days after PSG signed 26-year-old Dembele from Barcelona. "I am very happy to have a world-class player like Kylian," said Enrique. "He is in great shape, he has a lot of desire, a very good state of mind." Mbappe was left out of the squad in PSG's 0-0 season opener against Lorient last week, after missing the club's pre-season tour of Asia and spent the majority of the summer training away from the first-team squad with players made available for transfer. The 2018 World Cup winner was the subject of interest from Al-Hilal himself, as well as being linked with moves to a plethora of Europe's top clubs, until a surprise change of stance after the Lorient draw led to a truce between player and club.

Kylian Mbappe: Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti '100%' rules out summer move for PSG striker..

The 24-year-old Mbappe has so far refused to sign a contract extension with PSG, prompting speculation he could join the La Liga side. It is believed PSG were open to selling the France captain rather than running the risk of losing him for free when his deal expires next year. When asked about a deal for Mbappe, Ancelotti said "No, I rule it out 100%." He added: "I think our squad is closed and our players are thinking about our season." Mbappe spent a spell training away from the PSG first team this month amid his contract stand-off, but he has since returned following what the club described as "very constructive and positive talks". He was left out of the club's opening game of the season against Lorient but scored a penalty after coming on as a substitute in PSG's 1-1 draw with Toulouse last week. In July, PSG gave Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal permission to talk to Mbappe after making a world-record £259m bid. PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has been adamant he would not let the striker leave for nothing and it is thought some kind of agreement is likely that will see Mbappe sign a one-year extension to his present deal as originally envisaged. Mbappe netted an early penalty after Corentin Tolisso fouled Manuel Ugarte, and Achraf Hakimi doubled the lead after a one-two with Ousmane Dembele. Marco Asensio and Mbappe gave PSG a 4-0 lead - the first time Lyon trailed by four goals at half-time in a league game since 1966. Tolisso netted a consolation penalty as Lyon avoided a thorough thrashing. Second-placed PSG are unbeaten this season, while Lyon remain bottom on one point from four games.
