While they have been shorn of mercurially-talented pair Neymar and Lionel Messi this season, PSG still can rely on Kylian Mbappe to provide match-defining moments as they aim to finally win Europe's premier club competition. But Mbappe's brilliance helped get them back level in Dortmund and ultimately keep their Champions League dream alive. The 24-year-old France forward used his sharp movement and trickery to stretch the Dortmund defence, who could not clear their lines and allowed Zaire-Emery to fire in the equaliser. Mbappe also had what could have been the winner - another run and precise finish - ruled out by the tightest of offside calls.

"If he is going anywhere he is going to Real Madrid, if he is coming to the Premier League it's going to be Man City. They are the only two clubs that are going to be paying the wages - there is no one else," said the Jamaica international. "They [Liverpool] put £100m down for [Moises] Caicedo. I'm not talking about the fee, I'm talking about point-blank wages, he would be moving on a free. I'm saying [he would be on] nothing less than half-a-million-a-week."

The 25-year-old came close to making the move to Anfield once before, back in 2017 before his move to Paris. At the time, Mbappe was weighing up the idea of swapping Monaco for Merseyside and according to L'Equipe, even held a two-hour with Reds owner John W. Henry on his private jet to discuss the idea of a transfer. Though Liverpool are delighted by the fact that Mbappe would arrive on a free, it is believed that the Reds would have to restructure their entire wage system if the Frenchman was to join. The Telegraph claim that Mbappe's representatives are demanding a salary of £64.5million a year after tax, which works out as £1.24m a week. For context, Liverpool's current top earner, Mohamed Salah, is on a salary of around £350,000 per week.
